TAYLORMADES 1st ZERO Torque Spider ZT is the BEST of NEW COMERS… WORTH the Wait!!!
So far this year, my putting has drastically improved. And if you want to improve your putting, you might have gone for a zero torque putter. And we know the most common one, the most seen on YouTube, probably at all golf clubs around the world, your lab putters have certainly taken over this part of the market and I’ve certainly enjoyed it. So for me, it has made putting a little bit easier. It certainly would make it easier for higher handicappers, beginner golfers. because there’s a lot less thinking that goes on when it comes to putting once we’re in our posture. That face is staying a little bit square. A perfect roll there. And we’re having a lot more chances at holding those putts. We’ve got a new contender. And for me, we know that some could say it might be innovative, but you might also say it’s just inevitable that another putter is going to be coming out in a zero torque design. And that’s exactly what we’ve got from Tailor Made. We have been waiting for this Tailor Made to come out. We know we’ve seen PXG bring theirs out. We know that Callaway have had four different versions now of the square to square. We know Bettonardi Axis One. There is plenty of options that have come out pretty quick. Tailor made have taken their time and I can see why. And you can see by that fantastic roll. And you can see they’ve gone straight to their most popular model. And you’ll have seen in recent weeks, I did a video about how this putter, the spider putter, has won well over $50 million on the PJ tour. Scottish Sheffller went into this putter and it really accelerated his game. It’s accelerated how much money is worth and it’s really shown how dominant he can be. And again, Mroy this year did win the Masters using this putter. And putting always been a little bit of a nemesis for him, but it’s taken time. And this is where for me, I think Tailor Made have done a fantastic job because they’ve not rushed this out. They’ve not gone, “Okay, last year, let’s just get a zero torque putter out because all the rage is zero torque.” And to be honest, yes, it is and it should be because these putters can certainly help you control your putter face a little bit better, get the ball starting online. And depending what kind of insert or face you have, you can improve your pace. And we know on here we’ve got the pure roll face that is in the normal spider. And it certainly helped a lot of people get a better distance control. And you could say it’s very similar to that Odyssey white top face. But let’s talk about those Callaway putters. So if we think about the Callaway putters, we know square to square. We’ve got a number seven, we’ve got a double Y, we’ve got a Jailbird, all coming in around about 250. We’ve then got the Max One putter that came out, which you could say is very similar to the Lab DF3. And for me, there was a few things missed out on those. So the grip didn’t have that press grip on it. So it was very hard to get that lined up. you felt like you had to forward press it a little bit. I did think the best job that they did from Callaway is obviously get it into more normal models. So the number seven, the double wide, a lot of popular models, the Jailbird that was increasingly popular in the last couple of years, and we’ve seen plenty of people with those out on the golf course, but they rushed those out a little bit. They didn’t get the grip right. For me, the head designs were great, but the grip is a big obviously talking point. We know when we go into the lab putter, we did have that press grip on there, which just gets you into a set posture. You’re not thinking, do I have to forward press it? Because it’s obviously a zero torque putter. And the spider putter has done that. So, we do have a slight forward press on there, a press grip as such. So, for me, again, it sits well behind the golf ball. It’s very easy to get into a standard posture. And this is where it’s going to make it easier to get a better strike. We’re going to then be able to judge our distance a little bit better and we know what we’re getting from that head design. We’re getting plenty of forgiveness and Tailor Made have done that fantastic job of obviously waiting getting that zero torque straight away into their best design or most popular. And a pure roll again there on the fantastic greens here at Lindrich. new green keeper Dan just down there coming around planning where the pins are going for open qualifying which is on June the 23rd. I’ve been saying the 24th for the last couple of weeks and I was totally wrong. So there you go, 23rd. But how is it going to compare to the putter that I’ve currently got in my bag? So the spider putter coming in at 449. So very close to the PXG at 429. The Callaway Max comes in at 329 I believe or 349. and the original square to squares 249. So a big range in the putter prices here, but it’s all down to numbers and we’re going to jump on capto very shortly and get the numbers with that tailor made because two fantastic putts there, two very consistent distances, but what are the numbers going to say? Can that spider from Tailor Made be as good as the lab put? You’ll see the lab numbers on screen now. Both from the Mez and from the O1i that I’ve got in my golf bag. Can it beat it? Now, if we talk about the data of these two putters, you can see on screen the two most important numbers. So, face and path. So, face on the O1 was coming at zero on average and path was 0.3 into out. If we talk about the Spider ZT, although we hold a few good puts and it was quite consistent out on the golf course on average, 2.5 degrees open with the face, but the path was exceptionally good. So, performing very well there, but just not as good as that lab putter. So if we talk about other stats that we did see out there, it was much easier to get into a better lie angle with the Oz putter as it was done on an online fitting. Tailor made I would have to obviously go for a fitting, but even being able to do that online fitting with Lab just has it ahead for me. And you can see just some of the puts that I did hold on a recent trip up to Scotland. So interesting numbers there, but we can see that yes, this putter is extremely consistent, but not quite as consistent as the current Lab I have in my golf bag. So when you think about price, $449 for this putter as you’ll see on screen. Very similar to the lab putters. Again, you’ll see there the price of Lab. So Lab very similar £499 you can pick up the O14 and also the Mez one putter. So interesting that £50 difference. Would you go for lab? If you’re thinking about this putter regarding price, if you’re a spider fan, you will definitely like this putter and this could potentially help you because I think Tailor Made have done an absolute fantastic job picking the iconic model, taking their time, and hopefully you could hold a few ports just like that. Zero torque for me. I think we’ll be around for a long time. If you haven’t got one, if you haven’t tried one, I certainly think you should consider looking at those. Plenty of options on the market right now. This Spider ZT is certainly going to be a popular putter, but what would you choose?

Tried one at my golf club last week and they are seriously good the roll on my putts had never been so good so I bit the bullet and ordered one , hopefully I get a few of the 3 putt stat off my card
This channel always seems several weeks or more behind when touting new equipment. Yet that is fine. Maybe there is something new to say later, rather than when it's just pulled from a box.
I got the zero torque Odyssey no. 7 cruiser a couple of weeks ago. It has really helped me.
Scotty and Rory ain’t using that putter model
I had been looking at the Labs for a long time, and tested heavily. I just didn’t like the look of them. Even the OZ didn’t look good to me. And in my testing the DF3 was the winner among all torc putters. Then the ZT spider came along, I immediately loved the look and feel, as I had previously used a Spider. I wasted no time buying the ZT Spider. It took me about three or four rounds to become totally comfortable, and then I just clicked with this putter.
I absolutely love it and just feel confidence when I putt with it. It definitely has improved my putting without a doubt.
I do like the Super Stroke grip ok, but I have been using the Reverse taper pistol grip from Golf Pride for some time, and feel it is the best putter grip I ever used. But I think the current forward press that comes with the ZT spider is important, so I will stick with it. I wrote Golf Pride begging them to make a 1 degree forward press grip. I hope they come out with one.
NO ONES TALKS ABOUT THE PING SCOTSDALE RANGE, I HAVE TRIED ALL PUTTERS OVER THE PAST 25 YEARS AND I LOVE MY PINGS
I really like my PXG Allan – especially the alignment aid!
What lie angle was your OZ.1i? The Spider ZT is standard at 70 degrees
The Mezz is the only model of LAB I feel like I can get along with and even then, still not my favorite. I still prefer the Bettinardi, Evnroll, and the Spider ZT of the zero torque putters I have tried, I haven't tried the PXG ones, but I have tried most of the Odessey ZTs and they don't do much for me either.
Just got a Zt 5k standard model and it will definitely take some getting used to before I put it in play for tournaments.
