What can an AVERAGE golfer score around WOODHALL SPA? Hotchkin Course!
in today’s video I am playing 18 holes around the home of England Golf Woodhall Spa Golf Club the hot skin course here is ranked the 58th best golf course in the world and on top of that it’s known as one of the hardest courses in the UK if not the hardest in today’s round of golf you’re gonna see some good shots that’s unbelievable shot of the day up you gonna see some bad shots f*****g hell my God what am I doing to do that is 80 yards left I’ll be lucky if I get this out and you’re definitely going to see some ugly shots hate golf but ultimately this round of golf felt like a bucket list golf course finally ticked off my list hopefully this video does the course justice even if my golf game didn’t let’s get into it OK egg wasn’t a very good shot the first hole was a pretty simple start a fairly straightforward 360 yard par 4 good tee shot OK second shot simple Tupa and we’ve got a par on the board and two stableford points pretty great start if you ask me but I know that this golf course has got some teeth to it there’s a long way to go in this round of golf OK oh my God what have you done there they are massive bunkers in it oh my days ha ha well happy with that wow wow I hit a great tee shot and the whole hole was ruined because of that shank for the second shot that error compounded by the fact that it went in one of the 147 bunkers on this golf course every single one of these bunkers is an absolute nightmare to be in this course is showing its teeth yeah that’s too far left I think how about go go good wait tap oh I thought I missed that oh my days but when I say poor I actually hit it quite well but it was a blind tee shot and it’s just gone a little bit too far left for me this is the first time I’ve ever played this course so I don’t really know where to aim for these tee shots either way I’ve ended up in the Heather and that’s kind of what ruined this hole oh my God sick and tired of going left this course is so hard now the biggest problem I have with my golf game at the moment is a massive left miss and this is the first hole where this issue has reared its head after a great drive I pulled my 9 iron miles left that is a great one down there ah good one that one and trust me that short game does not save me later on in this round but by the by I’ve got a par on the board I’ve steadied the ship three points and I’m back to playing level par for Stableford let’s move on to hole 5 and the first par 3 of the course go go go thing you got on but on the front call that’s a good part the t shot was slightly misstruck which means it didn’t quite make it over that sort of Mackenzie lip on the green but a great first putt meant that this was a very very simple par 3 shots two points and we move on to the first par 5 of the course oh Jesus Christ oh it’s not too bad is it this hole proves that it doesn’t matter how many bad shots you play if you play enough good shots good up and down really in it it’s good in it 3 wood and a really great chip to give myself a chance of my first birdie of this round four shots four points on the board and we are absolutely on cloud nine now onwards and upwards come on wind it’s a bit left to where I was aiming yeah oh God God it’s coarse man wow go go a little bit right to left maybe oh it’s exactly where I aimed it yeah from that rough in the trees was always gonna be a difficult shot again I found a bunker but at least I made a good bunker shot five shots two points and I think that’s probably fair all things considered hole 8 is another par 3 and another opportunity for a hole in one f*****g hell this left miss is so horrible that’s unbelievable shut the day up one of the worst shots of the round not sure what the hell I was doing there but my recovery shots aren’t gonna be as good as that for the whole round that lie in the Heather was absolutely awful I have no idea how I managed to get it on the green a bogey on the card but it’s still two points and so far I’m scoring pretty well let’s see how the final hole of the front nine plays out it’s a bit off the toe and a bit right good bounce left oh it’s just gone left in it yeah fair enough bunk bunker front left too much yes too much mate do you know what I don’t think I could have played that hole too much better a great drive a great approach shot I got the weight I got the got the weight of these greens alright mate thank you so for that front nine we’ve ended up four over par 40 and we’ve got 21 points on the board an amazing start to this round then it’s really good fun playing good golf on a stunning golf course but if any of you are watching this video for the blowout fret not the back nine starts next my god what am I doing to do that is 80 yards left is that all bounce get me off this hole call that bit didn’t it s**t get me off this hole this hole’s been nightmare look guys oh my God that was so bad my golf game deteriorates and my attitude deteriorates but with that said the back nine of this golf course is absolutely stunning and I do hit the odd good shot double bogey to start one point on the board let’s see what happens for the rest of this back nine it’s just s**t oh my God okay a good shot at last get that top read at least I’m reading them alright sometimes all it takes is one good shot on a tough hole and you come away with some points five shots and two points scored but I think we can all tell how much I’m struggling with my golf swing for this back nine next up hole 12 and the only par 3 of the back nine where’d I go left standard I’ll be lucky if I get this out that’s twice I’ve done that today oh when I stood over it I was like mmm probably need to give that a little bit more actually but and I’ve ended up with four shots and one point and honestly I’m really lucky I even got that that shot from the Heather was arguably the best shot of the round and I’m gonna need to hit some really good shots to actually counteract the bad shots I’m hitting six holes to go yeah okay hate golf oh stop please didn’t move an inch but if anything went up the hill haha let’s not talk too much about that approach shot from the middle of the Fairway let’s focus on the positives I hit a great tee shot I hit a pretty good bunker shot and I had a tap in for my bogey and two points just trying to find some positive vibes part 5 next let’s see if we can birdie bit left where I was aiming but story of the day that ah off the toe as well even my chips going left go that’s a bad part right line bad place but again we’ve got a tap in par and we’ve got three points on the board it feels like the ship has been steadied but with only 4 holes to go I’m gonna find out quick that I’m actually on a leaky ship I can’t I don’t know what I’m doing I don’t know what the hell I’m doing yeah we’re just gonna card ourselves a triple bogey zero points on that hole I spent way more than the three minutes allocated to me to try and find that tee shot and I tell you something for nothing I wasn’t going all the way back to the tee to hit another so we’re writing down a triple we’re walking away with no points and we’re moving on to the last three holes of this round hopefully we can find a little bit of form coming back towards the clubhouse no idea what awful lie this is a oh stop so quick I didn’t think you was gonna get it over that mound I’m getting absolutely beaten up by this we’re struggling I’m not gonna lie we are struggling I followed up that triple with a double even after what I thought was a really good tee shot I’m counting myself a little bit unlucky on this hole because I thought that tee shot was good I was just aiming in the wrong spot and again this is the first time I’ve ever played this hole so do you know what I’m giving myself a little bit of a break but still the good goal from the front line is a long distant memory I’ve only got two holes to go but I feel like I’m battling despair is turning into hysteria ha ha oh my God oh that’s how bad this is going and you know what fair play to my playing partner Simon he is having to deal with an absolute nightmare of a playing partner for this back nine I’m not really too sure how I’ve managed to get two points on that 17th hole it felt like a fairly innocuous par 4 that I seemed to mess up one hole to go and it is a stunning par 5 to finish yeah do you know what I think we’re just gonna end our this hole that t shot has gone so far left I just glad it right where my playing partner’s t shot went and I’m just gonna play out the hole from there how is that not moved nice simple two put miss read slightly turn in or out playing partner’s attempt at making his first ever eagle and what a place to do it the 18th hole at Woodhall Spa sit down hit the hole oh just a little bit too much pace tap it in give it a go good birdie finish time well done mate thought that was it well done yeah bucket list course bucket list course unfortunately not a bucket list round and a lot of that damage was done in the last four holes overall I carded a 91 for 33 points and you know what that’s not that bad considering I’ve never played the course before and it’s one of
