Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said he’s still chumming it up with President Donald Trump on the golf course despite the media focus on tensions between the pair over the president’s Big Beautiful Bill.

Paul joined Fox Business’ Larry Kudlow this week and Kudlow’s opening question was on the status of the senator and Trump as golf buddies.

“Well, you know, we played last week and he’s still got a good game,” Paul said.

Paul was one of the only Republican holdouts on Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, taking issue with the budget’s spending levels and the raising of the debt ceiling.

While still trying to push through his Big Beautiful Bill, Trump lashed out at Paul over his criticism multiple times, claiming at one point that voters in Kentucky “can’t stand him.” Paul has served in the Senate since 2010.

Last month, Paul ripped the president for his “immaturity” after he was “uninvited” to the annual White House picnic. After the senator called Trump “vindictive,” Trump reversed course and invited Paul and his family.

After Paul voted no on the bill, Trump asked on Truth Social, “What’s wrong with this guy?”

“I’m glad you’re on speaking terms and I’m glad you’re playing golf together. I think that’s pretty good,” an amused Kudlow told Paul.

The senator said he’s happy with 2017 tax cuts being extended in Trump’s budget and made clear he holds no personal grudges.

“I wish him the best, but I also wish the country the best. I think the tax cuts, keeping the tax cut from 2017, are going to be great for the economy,” he said. “I hope the new tax cuts will help us grow even more. So I’m enthusiastic for him to succeed, for the country to succeed. It doesn’t mean we’re always going to agree on everything, but I am hopeful that the country does well.”
