Ohhh, so I just need to swing like the best player in the world. Itās so easy!
Roundrobbin_19
We all know Scottie is the best golfer in the world⦠but he actually casts slightly (especially compared to most pros).

Honestly, don’t follow his swing even he’s the current No.1
PS. My opinion, check Tommy Fleetwood ‘s swing is way better in all aspects

Oh, *thatās* it!?
God, Iām so stupid. Been doing it all wrong.

Waiting for those on r/golfswing to talk about his reverse pivot/spine angle at the top.

Realizing that release is my issue. Idk how these guys slow their hands down so well right after impact.

My shoulders can’t get that much rotation….

I love seeing high hcp amateurs in the comments talking about ācastingā, āflippingā and ālaggingā like they actually know something.Ā
1. āCastingā as in releasing the club is something that happens from the top in the best players in the world. No one of them is trying to create any lag in the golf swing, its a by-product of correct fundamentals.Ā
2. No, Scottie isnt flipping here.
3. Unless you have some actual speed forget about ācompressing the ballā and shaft lean at impact. Unless your irons are flying 100fr up in the air, you can forget it.Ā
4. Stop trying to excuse your own poor mechanics by picking outliers in the top 200.Ā
If you actually want to get better at golf, you should be looking at wha top 170 players have in common instead of trying to replicate Scotties shuffle, Rorys hip movement, Brysons wrist conditions and so on.Ā
Pick a healthy medium like Adam Scott and model yourself after that.Ā

Us amateurs could never replicate such thing of beauty⦠it would be like anyone trying to sketch the monalisa with mcdonalds crayons

I chug 2 ipa’s. Wait 10 minutes. Lag up the wazoo.

Just swing like Scottie? I feel kinda stupid for not thinking of this earlierā¦

If this was the swing posted by a random redditor there would 200 comments about flipping hahaha.

Sweet. Now I got it.

It seems crazy to me that you see the golf club flex forward before impact. To me that seems counterintuitive as it could be losing all the potential energy too early. Theoretically once the head flexes forward isn’t it then absorbing the kinetic energy because it’s going to rebending the shaft in the other direction.
It seems to me that the best time to strike would be just as the shaft has completely rebounded to center. Is it an optical illusion, because I have seen slomos of the golf swing and when loading the shaft properly they all seem to be flexing forward?

I honestly think Scottie is one of the worst players for someone new to try and emulate. He has a lot of idiosyncrasies and honestly flaws that work for him but not for everyone.

It’s not his swing that makes him #1

That visible weight transfer at the top is so sexy.
