Rob, what are your thoughts on a great opening round of 66? Yeah, very pleased. Um, tough day with the conditions. Um, anytime you shoot six under is a good day. Um, and especially first round out here, Dave, another really good start to a tournament. How pleased are you with today’s 66? Yeah, delighted. Uh, it’s kind of like a little bit of survival out there at times. It’s so hot, so humid. Uh, yeah, it was a kind of funny round. just didn’t have in any trouble until 18. Played steady, hold some nice putts and and yeah, like I said, I wasn’t really thinking about golf. I was just thinking about drinking all the time and and keep taking fluids and and trying to keep your concentration. Yeah, you were tickling along very nicely, but four birdies in your last six holes really shot you up the leaderboard. How much did you enjoy that finish? Oh, I didn’t realize that actually. Yeah. Yeah, it was good. Um there’s a there’s a couple of par fives in that last spell. Um, so that gives us a few chances and then 17 and 18 really tricky pins. Um, so to get one on 17 was a bonus. Is the layout here in the challenge one that you thought suited you when you saw it at the start of the week? It’s a great golf course. I mean, it’s a great layout. It’s in fantastic condition. Just uh Yeah, I mean it rewards some decent ball striking. Some a lot of good holes out there. Yeah, and the greens are rolling pure. If you get it started online, it stays there. Recovery obviously a very important part of this week. What do your plans look like now for the rest of the day and tomorrow morning to make sure you’re in the best possible position to go out there and play well again? I think it means no practice, I’m afraid. Um I’m I am a practicer. I like to go and practice but I don’t think it’s uh advisable this afternoon. So I think uh just bit of rest and uh dinner and that will be just about it. What do you do to reset for tomorrow and focus on those positives? Yeah, just more of the same really. I’ve been playing some decent stuff the first two or three events I’ve played out here in the Legends Tour. Uh haven’t quite put three rounds together. I’d like to do that. That’s the sort of main focus is try to, you know, keep the foot down because these guys can play out here and the scoring is going to be low. So try and keep up and yeah, that’s that’s the sort of plan.
