Play Golf on the MOST SCENIC Golf Course in Scotland? | Scotland’s Top Golf Course
guess what we’re back Scotland’s Gulf Coast East loan North barck roll intro [Music] a [Music] good yeah sure right we’re on today we’re at the Glen Golf Club at North berck East links look at this place this is where it all started today I’m with frer Malcolm frer is the head pro Fraser how you doing good good thanks there he is hiding in the background so we’re going to play fzy we’re going to play ah Twan scramble we’ve H our t-shots here in the third we’re going to try and play about a few holes in the back nine the objective is to get what 200 under 200 under sounds all right seems we got half a chance so we’re going to keep it as simple as we possibly can going to try and get two under par we’ll get better than that Fraser I’m sure we will North baric look at this unbelievable right 56 yards fre two drives pretty close yeah so we Tak this is your first drive that’s it out the way yeah yeah yeah that’s right let’s take oh yeah what are we doing let the scramble let’s take yours you sure I think way okay so I was thinking it was still the warm-up warm- Up’s over right 56 yards what’s the plan play short and I’ve got 56 degree wedge and for me this is a generally a good distance for a half swing so halfway back halfway through is what I’ll be thinking here whether that actually happens as another thing least do a plan very good we bit strong but not too bad way see that’s I see that different I I see everything along the ground so I’ve got 54 I just see a little bit lower that’s comforting knowing you’re there though yeah pretty good right what have we got 1 two 3 about 9 ft mhm move it right to left maybe right to left so I’m I’m going to trust you on all the lines here I don’t know is it just right Edge much more probably it’s not loads I don’t think not too much all was probably the right breake just a bit firm pretty bad though just be honest do you want away do you want left in or h no leave it in this yeah so I went too far I’m here right I can just it didn’t really move that much no I had it pretty hard wasn’t no didn’t get high enough at all all PA Speedy are quick out phaser pop it in for par well done good nice fourth hole playing 175 downwind everything goes right to left you reckon yeah I mean you can H it a way out to the right and it’ll run down as you know but um downwind 175 good it’s not a lot of club actually is it no uh I might go with a NE and see what happens not maybe smoothy that’s strike that’s good yep oh yes brilliant brilliant that was smooth yeah I’m going to go the same a good line a little bit clean it’s a very good line though yeah still want to take it yeah we’ll take yours I think yeah so frers Bob we decided here there a little bit more straight up the green so we’re going to go with that which is better shot anyway make sure try and get it to the hole cuz cuz it’s uphill but there’s a bit of break I would say there’s probably 6 in of breake at least AB know this this Green’s difficult to read but there’s a lot of break in it I just don’t know if there’s that as much from here I think it’s normal but I think just once it dies it’s going to turn left see if I can give it a run H I don’t think I’ve got there it’s a decent line but yep line was good do you want to move that marker no that’s fine that’s a good line we’ll leave that there yeah better run at least no what you reckon I don’t know none of them are that inviting I yours because it’s uphill because it’s uphill seriously okay we could end up with a double bogie if I take your chance I’m so glad you hold that I’m so glad you hold get off this hole level path through too that’s not bad the um greens are tricky greens are very very good very very good lot than I’m used to um but frer was just saying there just now that because it’s so fast and fire it’s hard to fire something at the pin so the t- shot there were both bit short need to be a little bit more aggressive with that but certainly um level path through two we’ve only got five holes left to get two under but we’ll do this we’ll manage this is our third hole it’s the 12th here at the East links white te’s were off as you know so it’s playing four five8 straight there are we good to go I love this fight sure 161 downwind I’m going to H I’m getting 9 hour that’s what I was thinking I’m going to hopefully land it just shot cuz cuz the green runs down as well so taking my drive freezer’s further down we’ve taken mind to get out the way and then we’ll make bird isy yeah that was not what I planned so right hand side of the green but not really yeah where I want it to be needed to lower puncher [Applause] same sort of shot into to the a little bit they’re all right though putting yeah putting so a couple of decent shots there from Fraser n not quite what we hadn’t planned but still you know it’s it’s a chance there’s the bass Rock ganet that’s what the white stuff is ganet buds millions of them on there well bit of National Geographic action there for you a fantastic day though I mean there’s no better place in the world than North bar especially this course what’s your thoughts well I would imagine we obviously take a closer one but I mean they’re actually better than we thought I think you know we’re in a flat area the green not too far away it’s there’s not a lot of break I don’t think which is amazing on this green cuz there’s a load of break in it so yeah it’s not too bad good right what we thinking this we’ve got to get this in a bird yeah so we’ve got one two three four five six threes 18 ft actually not bad for me now I I still would imagine there’s a little bit from the left because of the way of the screen but we are at the slightly flatter part of it yeah but I think that made my gut feeling but it doesn’t look a lot does it it’s pretty straight isn’t it I think straight okay not sure I can do that but we’ll try straight As the a straight is harder I did hit it left so it started left and stayed there so left yeah I think it is pretty yeah you were right it didn’t do much I’ll get that marker back sorry okay straight at it Freer yeah I think so o good try good try I give it a go had to go for that yeah you had to excellent well done very good indeed yeah few boring pars huh so 13th hole the SE hole this is our fourth level par down there tough hole HH tough hole into the breeze a we bit as well yeah makes a we bit trickier I’ve just walked forward 20 yards and got 135 so we’re 155 to the flag into slight breezing it’s in probably the hardest position which is on that right Edge so you’ve got the beach to think about as well wow this is going to be trick exactly a birdday chance at the moment so when you get people coming off the golf course pH you get a lot of feedback about this hole is this is this the hole all your visitors talk about yeah this is I suppose the the signature hole in a way although I think there’s probably even better holes out here but this is the one that gets all the all the fame and all the chat yeah so yeah people love being down by the rocks and the Sea and the beach and stuff yeah is visually cool a tough hole Yeah that so I suppose we blind like this you’re just picking out something that rock you know the rock that sits up yeah that’s L of the pin so left of that I’m assuming left of that oh it’s a way left at least it’s on dry land 155 I’m thinking a Punchy yeah Punchy into the breeze a better line that’s a dangerous line is it that’s tight isn’t it that could well be down the right hand side it’s aggressive the KE up there I’ve just popped it here Fraser’s gone long left I think we’re going to have to take that right here we are so that jumped a yard off the back you’re long left this for birdie this for birie uh this is going to be so quick going down here this is this is the quickest green on the course very good tell you what I’m actually quite happy very good happy with that yeah well I was worried about degreening it to be honest wow I wish you hadn’t said that sorry I was just Mark was worried about off the back of the green shows you how fast it is he’s the pro he’s played this course a lot he was scared it going off the back of the green so I popped a little bit more Loft on that see steady all right I’m struggling here today to be fair this is hard Fraser’s got full control that was a very very good P thanks still it’s a tricky one slightly above the hole but so this is still coming off the right yeah Y no too hard trick here sorry Steve right so I didn’t move that much there not really no well done well done I used the two of the Potter there just to kill it you put the Fe through me so fras we were just saying there how hard it is to score in a two-man scramble absolutely yeah I mean it’s just like it’s you’ve got to be knocking it in dead close all the time and you just can’t always that’s right close enough to make sure the bird that’s a perfect example there you know you’ve pulled one left and I step up and should have gone for the middle of the green I go to the flag and miss it long right three holes to go though it’s fine St the right all right yeah it’s still be fine it’s fire now in play we need some bires now we really desperate a bir we’re playing from just down here where are we right there good drive it’s just an awesome day it’s great to play with Fraser Fraser’s um obviously very knowledgeable of the area I’ve been lived in the area for a long time and head professional here at the the Glen golf club which is now known also known as the East links north barck um really knowledgeable to hear about his his lines on putts and things I know he not hold many putts but he really has got a grasp of all you can tell that he uh he plays around here quite a bit okay F take that pins close to the front yes yeah yeah 68 yards left what a day for it I know 68 y think it’s all right I think it’s long left find out in a minute stries not great what did you hit there I be 54 what have you got freezer 56 and I’m probably going to go with that half thinging again okay it’s good it’s online hard to see it it’s a great line so we’ve got I think 1 two 3 four five six these 18 ft you reckon off the right yeah it’s fast looks it yeah and it’s probably more than you think that’s quite a slopy green this way it’s so deceiving though I mean I and uh I don’t see much break there but I’m going to take your word for it I’m going to go way out to the right here oh so he got it that was a lot of break on that you’re absolutely right that was a break wasn’t there I went I never hit it hard though but I was out here somewhere yeah yeah right I’ll try I led it I was thinking yeah I just took your watch I was it just looks about a few inches but you aimed away at it right hardly touched it go on too hard had to go for it though yeah good effort I knew you were close good effort so assuming a hold this we have to bir the last two par five and par three we can do that yeah we can totally do that yeah good very good sure so I’ve got 190 to the flag and once you get over the front of the it kind of kicks forward a we bit so I’m going to hit seven which is tight for this distance but I think if it make me hit it hard and it potentially could just release the right amount so so more aggressive that’s the plan anyway it’s more aggressive 190 to the pen 7 iron fool see it clean but it’s on line a great line n we’ll find out that’s it’s over the ridge is it that was 7 the ball is flying though yeah there a we bre I don’t think it’s doing that much no I think the Heat’s helping you look at the 13th we were both long but we the right Club sounded nice oh I’ve just shoved it right though I’ve missed everything today over the bunker on the right you’re good though so FR are your YouTube channel is it tuition based is it it’s a bit of both um um I’m fairly early into I mean I started it during Co but it’s just been building up slowly and I can’t they do so much cuz us you know working as a full-time Pro but it’s it’s a lot of equipment reviews actually at the moment with there’s also quite a big catalog of teaching stuff which I’m planning to expand as well but it’s uh so it’s a we bit of everything and little things like this as well where it’s a scramble and that sort of thing so it’s kind of it’s all things at the moment but I would say slightly more review based uh equipment wise at the moment um and what’s your Channel’s name golf FM gol FM excellent so I’ll leave a link to that in the description below um it’s hard though I found out as head pro to juggle that job with YouTube channel and any other coaching other bits and Bobs on there hard to fit everything in yeah I’m just doing what I can I’m just at the moment just doing bit by bit what I can I’m not stressing myself out too much with it but you know as it grows I might I might commit a little bit more time to it but it’s doing okay just L myol there sorry so the channel is doing pretty well so you do you enjoy the content making of it do you enjoy that part I do I do I’m i s of V I would only do what I enjoy doing I became like a chore I didn’t want I didn’t want to do it so I’m kind of doing I like talking about new products and and things like that and and this and trying to get across the teaching side of it and what I’ve learned over the last 27 years teaching so yeah I do enjoy it and uh it’s uh it is a challenge with all the technical side of it you know all the editing and all the equipment that you need and finding out about that people realize how much goes on behind the scenes to do that just for one video you know constantly watching YouTube videos to find out how to do YouTube videos exactly exactly and then once you’ve done that you’ve got your shop to run and you’re coaching to do and your members to look after but that’s good so it’s um Channel’s name again was golf FM golf F 1900 subscribers at the moment it’s been going probably properly for about 3 years maybe probably so it’s I’m happy with the progress at the moment EXC Brant so that’s Fraser’s Channel I will leave links in the description below for Fraser’s Channel go and check that out there some quality stuff on there very very good um of course another guy in Scotland on YouTube that’s has to be a good thing so I’m just here little bit short right Fraser’s good just a little bit clean front edge of the green we need to up and down this for birday Potter yeah I’m going to go fairly straight Texas wedge yeah I would North B wedge yeah pretty straight you reckon I think I’m possibly a little bit right to start with because of that slope in front of me but yeah I slightly to the right but maybe yeah I think so I think so it’s the pace it’s the main thing it’s not a great line brilliant absolutely brilliant well done yeah it’s like the chat we had earlier on about being a junior you never thought about tech e you just played it EXA just stepped up and played the shot yeah it’s good shot it’s hard working I’m bringing my Potter I’ve got every confidence in you you’ve hold out well don’t know H yeah well some of them we used a lot of your shots today this is good this was the plan though this is your course yeah okay go on stroll in yeah well done excellent I was picking that flag up before finally BR so we’re one under one hole to go Par 3 16th we need a two we need a two right hole 16 this our last hole 190 par three right up in front of those trees so 198 pins at the back fre just me just now that the white pins are the back pins and this is our last hole I’m hearing this [Laughter] information thanks for that we laser in it uh I possibly think I might have to hit five to get right up there and just risk going over the back cuz we need a birdie we do need a bir what club have you got sry six six at the moment I’m just wondering if I you know I have to ABS flush it or I’m going to leave it 20 ft short or something but the 20 ft short will be an uphill pot won’t it well maybe 20 yards short then maybe I might hit a five just to get there right five yeah stuffed that it’s on the line though is it look oh so goad do it for a whole oh my God so that was a perfect though so CAU it a fraction heavy but the pins the back so Landing short Running Up That was we’re taking that all day [Laughter] long let say did good so that’s right on it that was six iron oh that’s pretty good as well yeah it looks good oh we’ve got chances actually started playing golf F in chance yeah so two very good shots there 5 AR and 6 AR we’ve left ourselves probably gain about that 18t range but two cracking shots to get that close okay good shots H 1 two three four come on 12 ft is the closest we’ve been well apart from the last hole obviously been power five what do you reckon then slightly off the left yeah I don’t know this could be a fair amount could be about like the 14th but really once it dies it’s doesn’t look loads but are you quite happy I’m going first you I’m getting that Vibe I’m going I’m going a cup out the left right well that’s the feeling and smooth really good try just touched it was it more Brak than you thought it was more Brak than I thought and I had it a lot softer than I intended to so possibly why so this is it couple of balls to the left and couple of yeah I would say more than that I would actually say right about the okay so no pressure phaser so this to achieve the goal this is to achieve the goal absolutely too hard too hard rattled it through minute I hit it through if you pop that ball beside my te and you can have a pled to finish this off at one under we’ve done all right though next yeah sorry yes well done excellent F thanks very much thank you thly enjoyed that was brilliant really really good next time we’ll be on our game absolutely yeah the rematch with the course right we’re done I had a fantastic time here in northb East links aka the the Glen Golf Club frer Malcolm golf FM is his YouTube channel go on there loads of comparison stuff loads of reviews bag reviews Club reviews very very good stuff I love coming back here it’s such a pleasure and today we could have played better golf I feel as well let Fraser down just a touch with my performance today but you know what that’s golf we can win them all although I’d love to win them all but seriously thank you very much to the glay Golf Club the hospitality has been amazing course as you’ve seen is in fantastic condition and my next video I’m not sure where we will be it’ll be instructional stuff I will see you then in my next video thanks for watching bye-bye
Play Golf on the MOST SCENIC Golf Course in Scotland?
I play golf on the most scenic golf course in Scotland with the Head Professional. Fraser Malcolm from the East Links Golf Course in North Berwick takes me out on the Links. The golf course is immaculate with views that very few golf courses posses. We tee it up and play golf where Fraser shows me the lines on the greens and how to hit the fairways as he hits solid golf shots all day long.
Fraser has a golf YouTuber channel called “Golf FM” so be sure to subscribe

Played it. Loved it. Heaven👍⛳️
Got to get there. Each of these location videos increase my longings to play links golf in Scotland. I played Northwest Ireland courses this spring. It can’t be better than that, can it? Thanks for the inspiration and the tips.
I love it! I love it! I love it! Oh, did I happen to mention that "I love it"?
Great video Steve, thanks for plugging the channel as well, much appreciated.
Brilliant video. Feel I just played the beautiful Glen course without leaving my seat. Reckon I might watch that again later to lift the spirits.
Great video. You really improved your channel.
This is golf!
Great video and nice to see so many gannets back on the rock!👍😁
Is there a more beautiful place than the east coast of Scotland in the sunshine. Might be a rarity but it looked great.
Another great video Steve. How we love the Glen golf course.👍
Huish’s course is beautiful too. It has the most copied hole in golf Redan.
Only played here once and yes the views were off the charts good. (The long par 4s into wind were not much fun ! ).
Also, have i missed a video? Where’s the LAB putter gone to ?
This is magic.
Really like the way you work these courses into your lessons. Was worried about you a couple of months ago, but you’re back better than ever. Thanks for sharing Steve!
Would be tough to play with those views
Looks like it would suit me as I always put or pitch short. What a Course. Bit of background on the course would be interesting.
Great Video, and a great Course. But who can afford it?
Playing at the Glen on Friday morning. Looking forward to it.
Lovely video Steve, fantastic and loving the content at the moment!
Another fantastic video, Steve. Your mission to make me homesick is has been successful. I so want to make a trip back to Scotland and play the East Links Course, Glen again. Thank you so much, Fraser too, for making this show and posting the beauty of the course and its surroundings with some good golf thrown in too. Keep them coming. 🏌🏻👍🏻
Our old club President Cyril JH Tolley hit the flag on 16 365 yards with a hickory shafted driver, quite the player in the day. I think it was Open qualifying, picture is front and centre in our club
Steve, you must be pleased you kept at it, i was one of the supporters that suggested you concentrate on exploring golf in Scotland, you’ve done it brilliantly. I would suggest that you offer to be tour guide to some of the US YT creators, it will be the next step to 500k subscribers. Good luck, you deserve it….
Why don’t you two send out 4ball better ball challenges to some other content creators. Matt Fryer and Andy Carter might be a good start?
🇳🇦 Very enjoyable video Steve thank you , your Eureka swing changed my golf , so even a Bigger thank you for that , would love some info on the setup for a fade with that setup , thanks again 🙏🇳🇦
Once again, fantastic video. So jealous of you playing such a beautiful course whilst I’m down Deep South with an OK course.
Enough of my moaning but quick question regard your driving. In your video ( week or so ago ) you placed the driver head approx 1 ft back and club head towards you . Also your didn’t appear to have an open stance ( was that camera angle ). Regardless great videos, best You Tube coach
used to play the Glen and North Berwick on the 1st sunday in July in the low amateur open every year. They no longer run this comp. It was about £20 for the day , played it for about 5 years.
WOW Stevie, this is brilliant 👏
Your stuff is just, 👏
great video Steve .. thumbs up from me , I'm looking forward to the next one 🙂
A wonderful part of the world, so rugged and mysterious, if the land could talk there'd be a million stories to capture the imagination of any listener.
Yup.
Really good.
I like it when you wander around Scottish courses making me jealous of the beauty of the place.
As well as more of this, how about a tour around Scotland competing against the club pro each time – matchplay.
That'll separate the men from the sheep 😉👍
Enjoyed the video very much. It brought me back to July of 2012 when we played the old course in St. Andrew’s. We were on our last leg of our trip and decided to wine down in Berwick where we found the Glen golf course… I’d say the most scenic course we played in Scotland (wee better than Carnoustie in terms of the spectacular view). 😁
I am an 77 year old knacker now, but I recall shooting a 73 round the Glen back in the 90's.
Great memories..
Brings back good memories. I got my first hole in one on the 4th hole in a howling gale and with borrowed clubs on a visit to NB back in the '60s. I was so surprised I scored 8 on the 5th.
