[Music] welcome to Castle Point Golf Club this is a par 32 so today we’re going to do a scramble and try and break 30 got a gap in the weather we’ve waited for 2 and 1 half hours to feel off let’s see if we can do this right what have we got some distance or other did you get a card good luck i was uh I was considering just feathering an iron down fresh off his 89 he’s going to feather an iron down oh is a is it a great shot that’ll do that is not bad from straight out the car oh just short of the green i think it is just short the green as well that went quite far it’s the elite that you know it’s the elite it’s the elite job how nice was the lighthouse area from the rain yeah the weather’s atrocious today but clear there’s a little patch of blue sky up there going to try and get these nine holes in super quick time stay there oh nice we’re in one under how far have we got here 152 yards 152 yards isn’t that what you said no 252 yards 252 yards yeah straight down the hill probably playing around 220 that is mint i hope that goes yeah just short nice wow it’s blustery today we’re going to ask Sean some questions learned a little bit about Sean done the first hole we got into it i’m going to badger him with some questions now you look happy Sean i am happy i just as my brother used to say at the table at dinner my mom used to look at me brother and go “You don’t look happy Graeme.” And he go “This is me happy face.” And this is me happy face right now i I can’t give a happier face than what I’m giving you like this but I’m happy yeah i’m just I don’t like wind i don’t one where’s your age and where’d you come from yeah i’m 34 and I come from Southport UK home club southport Golf Club best thing about that golf club flinks golf course awesome members are keen mad keen on their golf really competitive club um and the course itself is magnificent so if you’re ever in that area there’s Roberto there’s hillside there’s form but go to estimate as well and place held the rider cup twice in 33 and 37 um great course worth playing maybe we should have taken yours Steven but you saved me there okay um I’ll go first we’re going to try and hook this in come on done so hole three 289 yard par4 flags up there by that big tree in the background nice wide fairway it’s not what we meant oh big turn come on wind oh the wind’s not touched it tell us a bit about how you got into golf Sean uh my dad used to take me to a local field uh where my nan used to live we used to take golf balls there and then I joined my first golf club when I was eight and at basically just fell in love with it used to go every day in the summer without fail tuna sandwich and chips every day glass of Coke play 18 in the afternoon practice all morning in the peak summer I used to go home at like 8 9:00 at night um get there at 10:00 in the morning 9 in the morning full day loved it that was it the junior section there was good at the time we had Fleetwood there as one of the players and uh a few other good players after that uh later teens so yeah it was a good No way oh just got a bit of mud on it kept it that side that’s what stopped it from rolling straight we’ve got a stretch of par 3es now coming up so this is where we really need to be on our game because if we owe you one of these we’re going to struggle they’re tough threes but let’s get to it oh oh it’s a bit left whoa wow the wind just stopped that that’s just up by that little tree wow the wind did really hit that have you played golf with any interesting people uh yeah great next question uh no I spent uh I spent a weekend with Michael Campbell so I went to uh his golf course in Spain and basically got some coaching from him mainly on short game so a lot of like soft landing high high sort of shots around the green go go go all right we got to look Stephen we got to look for par i feel like this is really important if we’re going to break 30 we have to make par on these par threes they’re long par threes though they are long par threes yeah but u I mean that was 184 which is a pretty pretty hefty one at that smashed it for par we’re good we’re in that was a good save that that was a concern but we got some rain coming again now i might just take shelter but don’t worry we’ll cut the shelter bit out we won’t just leave it in for you to watch hello aren’t you a little cutie particular in South America love to see I guess Argentina Brazil Ecuador anywhere around there i just love to see that area asia still not been to Asia so I’d love to go to Japan i’d love to go to Singapore uh I’m naming a few here on on one travel bucket list but I get Well I’ll say Singapore singapore for definite oh Fiji oh okay yeah so I’ve been to Fiji so I’d like to go to one of the islands definitely when you have traveled where’s your favorite place been so far south Africa is still probably one of my favorite places go that way stop it definitely stopped come on that’s a two that was a result was it let’s go 164 y par three hole six/15 oh flipping heck that’s gone left did that kill and cow i think the cow’s safe come on go go go oh yes sean you’re allowed to invite three people living or dead to tea to dinner um you have Yep rory Maroy just to talk about his recent Mast’s win and just the buildup to that winston Churchill love war stuff love to hear all the ins and outs of what happened during that era and Victor Frankle Man Search and Reunion i’ve read his book love it so I don’t love it but I like the sentiment of what he talks about and going through the Holocaust and the concentration camps i’d love to hear that side of the story so um yeah they’re my three people love this oh no oh it did held its line comfortably and stayed right ah all right we made a par we have 113 yards again so I’m not going to smash a pitching wedge at this one i’m going to try and a gentle 3/4 pitching wedge i held that open i felt it that’s back oh no oh no okay Sean yes if you had to describe yourself in three words what would they be a good listener oh far off not far off just just a little bit too much but we got to put for par we need to save this we need to save this oh boy two to go we got two par fours left they’re both drivable I think so I think we can do this and I think I’ve still got your tea here Stephen thanks do you want this back do we go really good i think that’s good yeah if if the farmer plays at the golf club could you could we get him to cut these trees down it would make this hole so much better in my opinion that’s a really good shot can you tell us a little bit about your cancer journey yeah um I had lymphatic cancer back in 2016 so it was primary mediainal large B cell lymphoma um I had a 15 by 8 um centimeter tumor in my my chest huge and that was just all gone by chemotherapy and radiotherapy in the space of about 6 months came out of complete nowhere just starting feeling tired and then couple months later had a big pain in my chest thought it was a heart attack it wasn’t I was only 25 at the time um and yeah it was a bit of a crazy time uh a horrible experience with chemotherapy anyone I think most people now know somebody who’s gone through cancer so it’s uh it’s not a fun fun thing to go through and you know people just need space to deal with it themselves and we all deal in different ways i just tried to make a laugh out of everything I possibly could is that what kept you going through Yeah basically I just had a laugh as much as I possibly could um because you never know what’s going to happen it could be could be the last time it might not be your last time and you hope it you hope you just um get through it and you’re all good so and I was lucky enough very fortunate that I was and um the doctors did a great job for me so yeah it was great drive Steven not a bad drive from me huh absolutely a1 okay got to be more aggressive man yes uh finally a decent putt from me you’ve hit the hole every time though that was awesome well done is that a birdie yes my putting was so on point yesterday and then I’ve come here and it’s been Why what happened yesterday might as well just do the drive yeah yesterday I shot 89 around Martra so all right drivable 300 y 272 m not drivable for me that is one hell of a hole to be fair to them it’s a great hole i’d imagine most people play safe are we just going for it yeah of course we are i’m just going to let it rip wow what a golf shot yeah I can see it bouncing great shot that might be the best shot you ever see me hit on your life okay so I think I’ve got too much club with with with driver now you’re in play i’m going to go with a silly shot i’m going to try and hit it left of this tree you might have to stand a little bit fur left of the tree yeah and I’m going to try and just basically slice it into the green come on don’t know where that’s ended up but it’s left of the green for certain probably will be Steven’s ball but I I just fancied having a go you know and that’s what it’s about golf have a go okay so just before we finish on the night yep this is your quick fire around okay okay jam first or cream first on a scale finish it off for a 27 no I can’t but we can shoot 28 we broke 30 around Castle Point let’s hope next time we come here it doesn’t rain
