Oh, beautifully played. Only a Scotsman. Get in. Oh, wow. Connor Sim, that’s how you do it. That was magnificent, wasn’t it? Just Excellent PL from Mr. Two under for the day. Four under overall. See there Perez has dropped one back to eight. So just four behind. He’s got another one. What a start from Glory Mroy. Three birdies in the first five holes. Mroy to five under. And with Victor Perez dropping a shot at 18, Mroy is within two of the lead now. Look at that. Close. Yeah. Straight at it. [Applause] There you go. How brilliant, isn’t it? Rory Macko. What a start this has been. Birdie power. Birdie power. Birdie Birdie. Magnificent stuff. trying to hunt down his fourth birdie of the day. It’s just a pitching wedge. He will surely find that birdie. That’s more like it, Tommy. Good stroke. That’s a wonderful round of golf. No mistakes there. Nine birdies and nine pass. All that’s up to 61. And he now has a share of the course record here at Renaissance. Still to celebrate it 20th year. Yet you look at this fine lengths course and it looks like it’s been here for centuries. Francesca Leapora is 14th. Shortish powerful fifth. See just how fiery these fairies are now. That’s skipping up there beautifully. Bang on line. Surely not. Surely not. [Applause] Only been three eagles on this hole so far today. Valamaki. Good to see him back over here in the DP World Tour. This isn’t far away. He’s playing partner likes it. Oh, what a two. Sammy one to go for Pench. Well, you won’t see many better than that. That is a glorious shot. [Applause] Fifth T drivable today. Par four and Connor serves. Go on. This is a very good line. There’s a little gathering hollow. Is it going to make it? Is it? Oh, matron. Yes. Is it? It is. Yes. Couldn’t. Could it? Couldn’t. Oh, how did it stay out? What a shot. And what an adventure for that ball. Kra from 101. Perfect spot. Nipped it away. Should be dancing around the hole. Oh, and it was too. Glorious. Sweetly struck. The sound the flight. Good. Leave this for a bad shot. It’s a good bad shot. Airing on the side of caution and getting is just rewarding a few in there. No. Oh, bet. Pin in. Ball in. Birdie. There’s a bonus on the very difficult seventh. The struggles continue for Justin Thomas. might just be the turning point. Nothing has gone his way. Hasn’t been able to buy a there over the first 10. Whoop! Slippy one down the 11th for Oberg. Lightning from there. [Applause] Well, if you believe it. [Applause] Well, I never. That could be one of the most fortuitous things I’ve seen in a long time. How on earth has that stayed in the cup? That’s not possible. [Applause] It’s kind of right to left and then it goes over the top of another little mound. So, it’s up and down. This It’s pretty fast. Up now and down now. He was due. He might have struggled from short range, but Rakes a long one in to get the show back on the road. That’s better from Sheffler. Now strucker, is he going to try to fly it all the way there or run it up? He’s trying to run it up. How good is that? How good is that from the Austrian? What a player. Got the perfect first bounce. He just kissed it a little to the right and he can use the slope on the greens. Eagle chance for Sip. Oh, and then it goes. Patience paid off for the Austrian. It’s been a strange day. Not much has gone right. There’s been the odd glimpse of frustration and a wonderful eagle there at 16. 61 equaling the course record has got her up by the two shot lead at the top of the leaderboard. Fitzpatrick is back on form after a very quiet spell from the former US Open champion. And those youngsters in there as well, the likes of Marco Pench. Matty Smith making his way on the PGA tour. He’ll start round three at seven honor alongside multi-winner on that turn Nick Taylor. Chris, well done on a fantastic round of golf. Give us your insight. Yeah, I mean like we were just saying I’ll I’ll take a nine under any day and um you know relatively stressfree for the most part. Uh which is always nice. And yeah, I mean other than 16, I really think I played really well today. And you know, I didn’t do much wrong on 16. just didn’t make a birdie on a hole that you’d like to, but really just solid. Uh felt like I hit a lot of greens and was in, you know, whether I was in the fairway or not, I was in the right position, which is kind of the key around here, I feel like. And yeah, I mean, it was just a good day. Nothing else to say really. If you go back to the start of the day, did you do anything different in your warmup or was were you feeling particularly great today? What was the mindset before you set up? I’ve had a hard time getting up all week, so it really took some motivation getting up at 5:15 or whatever it was. But yeah, I mean I like I said, you know, I definitely got off to a slow start yesterday and and finished strong and then tried to carry that over into today and obviously, you know, found a little something out there today. So yeah, hopefully just keep it rolling this weekend. And if you look at your season more broadly, you know, there’s plenty of positive things. You you’ve not had any top 10s, but you’ve had a bunch of 12th place, top top 15s, top 20s. How would you summarize it so far? Yeah, like like you said, I think it’s a mix of, you know, very good and also a bit disappointing. You know, obviously playing good to come top 20 a bunch and top 25, but you know, there’s definitely been, you know, rounds or tournaments of three good rounds in one kind of eh. So, um, just trying to really pile on good rounds and, uh, you know, been putting better this week. So, that’s a big, uh, you know, big positive there. So, yeah, just trying to carry that into the weekend and, uh, into the rest of the season. Great stuff. Well done. Yeah, thank you. It’s all set up for a great final 36 from Scotland from us all. Scotland basking in very warm sunshine and barely a breath of wind is a rare occurrence, not surprised at all the low scores.
A guy shoots the course record and you show his 18th hole putt for par?
Ooooh the bots are out in force in this chat😂😂
I am in total agreement with LukeGaulMusic, someone hitting a 61 and a new course record to boot is real news, Rory et al having whatever number of bogies or pars isnt. You do the sport, the players and your viewers a huge disservice by such lazy reporting and professionalism
If there's nae wind, there's nae golf. But…that could change.
You do know somebody hit a 61 don’t you? All he warranted was a clip of a par put on the last?
Well done to Cornishman Harry Hall..😊😊
What a joke for the coverage of this event you really have to be embarrassed for them.
I'd love to see Tommy Fleetwood win the Open.
Guy shoots 61 and not one shot on this review at all?! Sky, your coverage is good but come on, something wrong there guys.
Its called sports broadcastin
Day two drama for the cut is always ignored. I can not understand why??
Absolute garbage cover why not cover all players not just two 3 balls.
What a great event! Golf in Scotland!
They don't want an American to get proper coverage! Okay!
Good thing you put the guy tied for 21st in the thumbnail. lol
Coverage and highlights from Euro Tour events use to be the best there was, by a long way, but now its just as bad as the US Tour, sad to see.
Gotterup looks like Bryson a bit, just a little bit out of shape compared to BD
It’s so hard to watch the DP tour with Rory’s balls in their mouth the whole broadcast, Scottie the world number one has anger issues apparently, and a course record was shot today somewhere, way to biased to listen to, smh
Scheffler definitely not going to win this.
McIntyre dropping loud F-bombs continually on live coverage. Can somebody do us a favour and give the clown an uppercut.
Saw more shots from the cheater Rory than we did for the player who broke the course record with a 61
I thought the PGA Tour highlights were bad until I saw this. No highlights from Fitzpatrick who shot -7 and a single putt from Gotterup on 18 to tie the course record at -9!! Absolutely ridiculous
6:13 wow smith
These highlights are woeful
I like to see some drama, not just the puts and chips than go in. Kind of boring this way.
