On the mound for Minnesota tonight, we see a rookie making his eighth major league start but a guy, they like a lot already. David Festa hits it hard but right at the second baseman, a line drive out starts the ball game here at target field. David Festive from Verona New Jersey swing and a miss by in strike three, that pitch had a lot of movement from Festa. That baseball way to move like that, Festa is working his way up two strikeouts and a 123, the first Italian versus Italian on the mound right up your alley. A groundball rate at 62%. That’s the highest in major league baseball. So he pitches the contact walks will Castro to begin the, trying to get a feel of that sinker swing and a miss as pulls the swing on there and get to fish for strike three first strikeout for Pote. There is Royce Lewis the third baseman and superstar for the twins. He accused one in right field that’s a base hit Castro will make the turn and easily head to third base punched it in the right spot and the twins have their first hit runners on the corners. Minnesota threatening early against the Cardinals pitching staff that might be a little light in the bullpen today as well. Won the second base. That’s Donovan over to second for one. The second inning. Nothing, nothing. The pitcher for the Twins tonight is David Festa Brendan Donovan loops one to left field. Matt Walner is there. He knows all about summer in Minnesota as he makes the catch line to left field Walder right there. Put a good swing on it, but he is the second out, shows me a lot for this young man to be confident, especially in friendly counts, to be able to, to get the hitter out in front swing and a miss by David Festa with three strikeouts in two innings wins the bottom of the second in this scoreless game. It’s ryan Jeffers leading on a ground ball up the middle and a diving stop by don’t work. So it’s a base hit for Jeffers and there goes Jeffers and Kepler bounces one on his way to third is Jeffers Kepler holds it first and for the second straight inning Minnesota with men on the corners and one out runner going from first. It’s ball four. So julian walks and Minnesota has loaded the bases, bases loaded and here’s austin Mart-n, the number nine batter as he chops one to third. Arnao is charging his only play to first. It’s too late infield hit. The twins have 133 walks in 81 innings on this season two balls and a strike another soft chopper this one to first coming home. He gets his man on a close play , the front of his foot pops up. So it never got down to the bag. Had a good game the other day against the Padres hit swing and a miss strike three has punched out larn twice and he gets through a bases loaded spot with only one run scoring. Matt Carpenter draws a walk and now victor scott is at the plate. Good away. Ale. Throw him out. Oh, come on to second and victor Scott is safe on a stolen base. Victor Scott. Now at second base you have to keep an extra eye on him even though there are two outs here. Yeah, I can see him. He, he’s making little eyes like he’s coming over here. Tell him you got to chill a little bit. No, I know he’s fast. He can do whatever he wants. It’s almost like de la Cruz 32 pitch to Mason win is hit to center field base, hit Victor scott rounds third base he’s going to score and the Cardinals have tied it. The stolen base factors in Mason win hitting with two strike factors in and it is a 11 ball game here in Minnesota and it was that may be a little bit more than he should have tried there, although he gets a double. That’s good. Brendan Donovan takes ball four first two on for the Cardinals here in the top of the fourth double by Contreras to lead off. The runners are going. It’s a double steal and Contreras the ball away from Andres a little late to break will hold at third and the Cardinals are in business here. Infield is in now for New and he’s got a 10 count over on the right field line for New Contreras and Donovan come home anyway and Lars New delivers a big hit two run double. Now the new chance crying out here in Minnesota. David Festa at 75 pitches, three and two thirds innings. And that’s going to be it for the young rookie right hander. Today. The bottom line is you got to lean on your starters, especially the veteran ones and get to the back of the bullpen balls, two strikes on Max Kepler as he goes after that breaking ball and strikes out. We’ve seen and get three strikeouts all on that same pitch went around. That’s strike three. So back to back strikeouts for Andre Palante retiring the first two here in the fourth line drive caught by leaping Brendan Donovan a 123 bottom of the fourth for Andre Poland’s first perfect inning tonight starting to really get command of that cutter and that sinker. He’s starting to be confident. Nice little cutter right there has struck out three times breaks his bat as he pops it up is called off by win. Makes the catch retired seven straight holds a 31 lead for the Cardinals lead. 3 to 1. Donovan was on with a walk was part of a double steal and scored. Here’s a swing and a high fly ball. That’s it deep right center field and that one is gone. A gun for Brendan Donovan. That’s the way to break it. Zero for eight hits home run. Number 10, 4 to 1. Cardinals. He got all of that one that was crushed into the bleachers. Walner leads off the sixth against it’s hard. Donovan a lot of on the ground for tonight. He’s starting to settle in with that cutter and that sinker and he’s challenging to try to hit the ball out of the ballpark and he’s pitching efficiently the ground ball. This one for Nolan near to Goldsman. It’s two left two down here in the sixth, a bouncer off the bat of Santana to end the inning 10 in a row set down by Andre Polan made it through six with the lead. That ball was in the dirt. It will be a wild pitch and that takes the double play out of order. Donovan pops it up shallow left field coming in for it. Is Walner. He has a good arm pham at third base. He won. Fires it to the what a job by Lewis on the, that’s his heads up baseball by Lewis and cash ton of ground ball outs in this game for ground ball out, pitching the contact low and it’s hit hard. But again, a ground ball right at somebody goldschmidt. There’s the 10th ground ball out for Palante tonight. He’s retired 11 in a row, another ground ball at 11 ground ball out for and five in a Sure Oliver Marmol would love to get him through. See how much Palante has to get there season high and pitches thrown is 104 needed only 99 to get through seven innings and has been excellent here tonight. He is loaded one out. Victor Scott at the plate. Scott zero for three tonight. Three hits in the game yesterday. That’s off the plate. Scott hitting all of 140 at the major league level, draws a bases loaded walk and the Cardinals tack on an important run. It’s 5 to 1, the bottom of the lineup is playing well. Your stars are going to have 4 to 5 at bats a game and the game over liner to left by Mason N Walner is there to make the catch that will score another run coming home from third base New Park 6 to 1. Cardinals on an RBR for win. Ryan Fernandez on to finish this one in the bottom of the nine in there for strike three pitch at the bottom of the zone to strike out farmer Santana pops this one up on the infield has it for out number two Kepler lines to right field, backing up, making the catch his new bar and that will do it in Minnesota tonight. A good win for the ST Louis Cardinals. They’ve put together a three game winning streak hoping for a surge into the final month of the season. They beat the Twins tonight 6 to 1.

  1. Sadly St. Louis has to hope for a little more than a surge – they need to win maybe 25 of their next 30 to even be competitive, and that'll just be for the chance to get blown out in the WC.

  2. Wow, an actual second baseman playing second base for the Cardinals! If we could only make up for all of the deficiencies Mozeliak's incompetence has left the big league club to make up for…

  3. It could be argued that Lewis hindered Contreras from breaking home after that throw got away in the 4th.

  4. Max Kepler embarrassed himself again with a pathetic slide at home plate …… totally blew the chance to pile on pressure and lost momentum for the Twins!

  5. When linn comes back ill bet you alm the money i got theyll take palante out even thi hes been the most effective startwr we got

  6. Pham brought the SouthSide curse with him apparently… Watched him in KC drop 2 routine fly balls, with an additional error, now he’s bed $hıttıng on the bases too!? What are we doing…?
