Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia have shared one of golf’s longest-running feuds, and the Spaniard has never felt shy about hiding his feelings about the red lover.

One of the most famous instances would be from 2013, when during the Players Championship, Garcia was quoted saying, “I’m not going to lie, he’s not my favorite guy to play with. He’s not the nicest guy on tour.”

That comment came after the LIV pro accused Tiger of distracting him mid-swing by pulling a club from his bag, prompting cheers from the crowd. From there, the rivalry escalated even more, making waves of their infamous rivalry.

Of course, everything really boiled over after Garcia made the infamous “fried chicken” comment.

Sergio Garcia Opens Old Wounds

Fast forward to 2025, Garcia reopened old wounds during his recent appearance on the No Bad Lies podcast with comedian Andrew Santino.

During their walk-and-talk on the green, Santino asked the Spaniard if he would beat Tiger in a physical fight, and Garcia didn’t flinch once.

“Well, at the moment I think me,” he said, half humorously but with a stern tone.

It was just like a flash of the fire that once made him Woods’ closest rival. Garcia then acknowledged the 15-time major winner’s current health struggles.

Tiger is currently recovering from Achilles tendon surgery on his left leg that occurred back in March this year.

“Obviously, right now, I think I’d win. He’s not in the best shape,” Garcia acknowledged.

Despite the history, the 2017 Masters winner stated, “We meet up and stuff, and it’s all good.”

He added, “We’ve moved on. At least publicly.”

As for Sergio’s own form has been shaky, prompting a warning from his Ryder Cup captain, Luke Donald.

The LIV pro even missed the cut at the BMW International Open and hovered below the top 60 on the PGA Championship leaderboard.

His OWGR ranking has slipped down to 509th and 174th in the Ryder Cup standings, quite far from automatic qualification.

Up next, the Fireball GC captain will tee at the Open Championship at Royal Portrush with the help of his LIV Golf exemption. And it might be his last chance to prove he still belongs in Europe’s Ryder Cup plans.
