Welcome back to the 2v2 series with myself and Phil Nicholson. Did they go in? What a shot. Come on. What a shot. Today we are taking on the most requested match, Bryson Dshambo and Garrick Clark. We have previously taken down Dustin Johnson and his brother John Dailyaly and John Dailyaly Jr. and Josh Allen and John Rom. Let’s go, baby. What an incredible putt. Let’s go, baby. Let’s see if we can go 4 today. [Music] Whoa. No way. Oh boy, dude. Garrett, nice to meet you. Nice to meet you as well. Pleasure. Looking forward to it. Yeah, me too. Fun. I really am too. Where are we all just at? Grant and I just rode around the golf course. Well, we saw the pins. We didn’t set them, but we saw them and then hit a few pluses some of them and then we decided on what TE’s we wanted to play. Okay. Because in Phil’s book of rules, uh, Phil gets to set the TE’s. And in this case, Phil is me, so I get to set the TE’s. See how that works? Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. I just got word that Bryson, he’s like 25 minutes late, so he’s barely going to get a warm-up in. This is like John Dailyaly 2.0. Well, if he’s late, then we could just have Garrett. Garrett, they he wouldn’t get penalized. Garrett would just have to play till he showed up without a partner. That’s all. I love my kids for doing that. It’s match play. So, I got I match play. Yeah, it’s match play. That’s not like you, Phil. What do we normally shoot? What do we normally shoot? Yeah. Who? Lower than whoever we play against. Yeah, it’s true. It It just depends. We We only do whatever it takes to win. That’s all we have to do. Can’t play too good, huh? We play a little dirty if we need to. Wow. So, what happens if like it’s a blowout and it’s like six and five? We did that against DJ. So, that second video is three holes. Yeah, that was on Phil’s Phil. Phil Phil said he likes short videos on his channel. I love that. That’s awesome. [Music] How you hitting it, Phil? Good. Not bad. You know, looking forward to the match. And uh my big thing today is like trying to get this whole body, you know, sped up so that we’re not giving up too much distance off the tea. Like I got to I got to hit a couple of big ones out here um to hang so that Grant and I can let our short irons like compete. But if we’re having to spot them too much off the tea, we’re going to be at too big a disadvantage. So, I I know going in like we got our work cut out for us, but I’ve been trying to get my speed up a little bit for today. I like it. Same. Phil, I cannot believe Bryson’s not warming up. He didn’t even hit a single ball. The guy The guy’s a stallion. He’s like an F1 race car. Like, it doesn’t need a warm-up lap. It’s just ready. You probably was already working out in the gym. He could have been hitting on his net this morning. We have no idea the more I think. So, knowing him, he he from what I heard, he has been at the range. He did worked out at 700. He’s been at the range since 8:30. Uh and then just drove over. Ah. So he was he went through a full simulation. He played the sim of this course and he played the course twice cuz he wasn’t happy with the first round. So he went and played it again. Is this true? No. I was totally I was bought in. I was completely bought in. All right. I guess the winning team has honors. We We actually You guys do a little something different. No, we always let our guests have honors and historically they have only held honors on the first hole. Really? That’s just been the case. Never won a hole after that. So, well, the first two matches and then Rom kind of, you know, Rom is Rahm and Rahm did his thing and we lost a few holes. In fact, it was weird. It was weird losing though cuz the first two matches we never really lost a hole. Yeah, we were actually somewhat worried, I would say, in that match. Very worried. Yeah, we were down. We had this we had this coming together, this real closeness and and then he got hooked up on a lie detector test and he got asked some tough questions and we’re just recovering from this, you know, I got asked Tiger or Phil on a lie detector. Yeah. And I picked Tiger. It It was It was like whose golf game would you rather have? I had to and I was on a lie detector. Like I was all hooked up and that’s tough. That’s your teammate. Should be your ride or die but clearly not. It was tough. It’s tough scene. We’re recovering. We’re recovering. The relationship’s you’re mending it. It was It was broken for a second there. Strained. Yeah, I would say. Yeah. But now, you know, you a tough time. Let’s go. Hey. No. This is our handshake today. This just boom. All right, Bryson. That’s a power slap right there. And see, we had no we we really have not ever had any obstacles in our in our relationship. And so we created one because you come back stronger, as you know, through any anytime you face a hardship. I get that. I understand that. That’s where we’re currently at. It was Josh Allen’s fault, too. He sent it in the group chat. Phil didn’t even know the video was posted. He would have never seen it. So, so I don’t know if they’re trying to get into my trauma here, but they just hit three shots like I used to hit. What are you talking about? I was like 10 years old. I got to I got to actually regroup after watching those. still be in there somewhere. Phil, you’re good. I’ve seen you win. That’s where my ball is. Yeah, but it’s 78 yards behind you. Hit the car. All right, I think we’re fine, Phil. Yeah, that should be good spot there. That was bomb. T- shots. Little wild there off the tea for everyone. That was a pretty shot. the trick shots he’s done over the years, his hands. He’s got great hands and he can chip really good around the greens and he’ll deny it, but he’s an unbelievable leg. Our bio- rhythms were a bit off in the in the match with Rahm and and Josh, right? And that didn’t happen, but we’re back on. We’re back. Our bio-ythms are back on our momentum. So that was big. The good thing was I feel like we learned from the DS Virginia. We got up and got a little too confident and we needed to we need to focus on the actual task at hand. Yeah, we did. Just got a little careless. That was a good first putt to start the day. Just didn’t break. Thought I hit a good putt. Greens are rolling really nice today. That’s the last time we’re going to give them a hole. I don’t mind getting it down there. Okay. If you wanted to have a shot potentially laid back to stop it a little bit, you can. Okay. So, I do have some good news for you. I have had an epiphany with my short game. Yeah, you said something changed. The week before the Washington tour turn the DC Virginia’s and it just totally flipped. In fact, after I did that, um, I went and shot a short game video cuz because it forced me to like rethink about all the things that I’m doing because I never had to think about it and I’ve been struggling with short game for a while and then I finally fig started to understand because I started asking questions. Made the change and it’s been great. So, my wedges shot like this. This is 64 degree. Uh, no, this is 60, but I’m able to use a 64 now with because my technique was off. It wasn’t it wasn’t an asset. It was a liability. But anyway, see. Uh oh. Oh, is that short? Yeah, short. Oh, it is short. My bad, partner. It’s okay. It came out nice, though. That was a different sound. I was a yard short of Bryce. I yet again, I kept it up with him, but I may have even passed him. I don’t know. Well, I mean, they say swing easy when it’s breezy. Um, and I could see the easy part and you’re right there. I mean, you swung super easy at that. It was like a 50% get it in play swing. Yeah. And I think it still might be up there with Bryson. Yeah. Well, I would expect it would be. Yeah, I actually did get it by him. Look at that. No, you um Oh, no. Maybe another yard short, huh? Yeah, this is this is getting weird. You’re the one that inspired me with all your content you used to do with the DVDs. How How did you have the foresight to understand the YouTube space? And then how were you able to connect so well with everyone? Man, what a great question. Um, first off, I saw Dude Perfect at 50 million subscribers and I go, “My goodness, they’re just a trick shot team.” Like, we’re athletes. Why don’t we have that type of viewership? That was the first question I had. And you see Mr. Beast as well and the same sort of thing. And I go, man, how could we capitalize that on that as professional athletes? And that’s when I really started questioning myself on like, what am I doing? How can I be doing more to engage the audience a little differently? And during that time, obviously, there was a certain perception that I had. And I go, man, that’s just not who I am. Yeah, I’m very passionate, dedicated, but how do I show people more of who I am? And that’s when I thought of YouTube and was say, okay, this is a great opportunity for me to try to showcase who I am. And back in 2020, we shot our first video week on tour and it got 800,000 views and the rest has been history. And um, you know, hopefully we we’ll continue to inspire a bunch of kids for the foreseeable future. That’s that’s really the goal of this. And look, we’re not going to be here forever, right? And so it’s great to leave a lasting legacy of hopefully uh inspiring kids to play this great game that we all love and and and is near and dear to our hearts. So that’s why I did it. That’s that’s why I think, you know, partly why you’re doing it as well. You’ve got a team, the High Flyers, that uh you’re starting to do really well with. And I think that’s that’s what we’re all about, man. We’re trying to grow this great game of ours. I I think it’s really cool that you’re not just about growing your channel or a crusher’s channel, but you’re helping others. Like you’re helping me and you’re helping anybody that that um that asks questions. you you give them insight. You’re you’re coming on our channel.
