You Can’t Touch That 😩

conceded birdie. But controversy follows. Nelly Corda lines up a long eagle putt. The ball rolls perfectly and just barely hangs on the edge of the cup. Then unexpectedly, her opponent reaches over, picks up the ball, and hands it to Nelly, conceding the cut. But Nelly’s expression isn’t happy. Soon after, the officials are called over. Why? Because when a ball is hanging on the edge like that, players are given about 10 seconds to see if it will drop in on its own. By picking it up immediately, the opponent took away that chance.

  1. Fighting should be allowed in golf, like hockey. 💯 why wouldn’t it be? 2 strokes for throwing the guy in the pond?! Forget Liv golf lol..

  2. 6 seconds going on 7 ???? In 2.5-3 seconds is all that was needed to show the ball was never going in. Was not on the edge, it was planted on the right of the edge. Poor sportsmanship all round.

  3. Sure the other player made a mistake, but they gave Nelly an eagle on a ball that wasn’t going in the hole. Nelly should be grateful.

  4. I'm an amateur and I know not to touch my opponents ball without asking. This is so dumb it almost seems malicious. Glad she got the eagle.

  5. I never touched my opponent's ball. Unless they have lost the hole or conceded the hole and the hole is over, maybe then I will pick it up if I am closer. But that's what caddies are for.

  6. Knowing the rules this gesture was not a good will just helping you out kind of thing. At this level everyone knows what is going on.

  7. So,..bonus for player whose ball was touched, NO penalty for the one who touched it? (aside from falling asleep stroke back)
