Headwind Adjustments – Golf lesson and golf tips on how to adjust to strong headwind.

► Headwind Tips – Video Golf Lesson Summary

Golfers tend to underestimate the impact the wind can have on the ball flight of a golf shot.

A slight breeze can impact a single club worth of distance, and stronger winds can easily rob 2 or even 3 clubs worth of distance. So you’ll do best to adjust your club selection accordingly.

You’ll also want to remember that the higher the ball flight and the longer the ball stays in the air, the more it will be affected by the wind.

One way to reduce the effect of the wind would be to play lower golf shots. In those, you’ll want to position the ball in the middle of your stance while making sure that your weight is positioned more towards the front foot. Your hands should also be ahead of the ball at address, and at impact.

Don’t hesitate to club up when playing against strong headwind, and to play lower shots when trying to limit the effects of the wind on your golf shots.
