Good afternoon, golf fans, and welcome back to TPC Deer Run, where the third round of the John Deere Classic has been nothing short of spectacular. We’ve seen birdies of plenty, some incredible saves, but if you’re asking me for the shot of the day, heck, maybe the shot of the tournament so far. You don’t have to look any further than Joel Diamond’s incredible eagle hole out. Now, Joel’s day started a little shaky. a couple of bogeies early on, grinding to keep himself inside that crucial FedEx Cup top 100. But that’s the beauty of golf, isn’t it? One swing, one moment can change everything. And boy did it ever on the par 413th. Domin stood over his second shot 113 yds out. A tricky little wedge shot that demanded precision. The pin was tucked, the wind was playing its part, and the pressure, as always, was immense. He took a smooth, confident swing, and the ball launched a beautiful arc against the Illinois sky. It landed softly, just a few feet short of the pin, and then it started to spin. You could feel the anticipation build, the collective gasp from the gallery. It hopped once, caught the edge, and disappeared. and 113 yard eagle hole out pure theater. The crowd absolutely erupted and you could see the emotion on Joel’s face. A mix of relief, elation, and that pure unadulterated joy that only golf can deliver. That wasn’t just a great shot. It was a momentum shifter, a declaration that Joel Domin is here to fight for every single shot, every single point. It’s moments like these that define a tournament, that get the fans on their feet, and that remind us why we love this game. What an effort from Joel Domin. Truly the shot of the day here at the John Deere Classic.
