This club could SAVE your short game 👀 #golf #golftips #golfswing #golfer #golflife #golfing

Ping have brought out a chipper and I’ve got it here to test. Will this golf club stop me chunking it, thinning it, and shanking it around the greens? Will I suddenly become a short game wizard by using this? Typically with a chipper, they can be quite grotesque and ugly looking and you wouldn’t be proud to have one in the bag where this would sit in your bag quite proudly because it looks like a premium product. It looks like a ping iron. It’s just been modified into a chipper. And just a note, this club is not designed for full shots. Right, without further ado, let’s hit some short shots. Let’s see if this can actually work. I’m going to start off with a shot that I’m not particularly happy with to play normal. I’d probably be putting from here, but can we start off strong? So, the first thing to say behind the golf ball, it’s actually quite a a kind of boxy looking club with lots of grooves and the head is actually quite heavy, which I actually think will benefit a shot like this. So, I’m going to do I’m going to pretty much adopt my putting setup. It’s quite nice cuz I can grip down on the golf club as well. Going to land on the front edge and just put it towards that flag. Oh. It’s come out a bit hot and a bit racy, but that almost went in. First impression, first shot. Felt good. Yeah, that’s not too bad. [Music] Go in. Oh, it’s close. Okay, quite a tight lie here. [Music] So, if you are a golfer trying to break a 100 or even 90 and you need a club that’s just going to get you on the green and do some sort of a job, this could be an option to look And

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

  1. Love mine. The ability to be in your putting stance and chipping onto green is great. It’s a putter with loft. I tried using my irons just not the same. 👍

  2. I’ve had a heap of chippers and can blade them as good as any iron. I found a big variance in loft and distance between a perfect sweet spot shot and anything but perfect.

  3. Yeah it is a good product idea but what club do you take out of the bag to replace it? Would way rather just use a 8/9 iron with the same stroke choking down on it…

  4. I’ve used a 5 and 6 iron for this shot for years. It’s my go to shot, none of the Phil flop shot stuff. I end up blading the thing into the undergrowth.

Guess the advantage with this club is upright stance and weight. Sounds good, must give it a try.

  5. When I was a kid, my Dad taught me how to play a chip and run with a 7 or 8 iron; just do that and save yourself the money.

  6. Generation of strike force in a club head works according to the formula = 1/2 (Mass x Velocity^2) What PING appears to be doing here is increasing the KINETIC ENERGY / Striking Force by increasing MASS and putting it in bottom if the club which will cause it react to swinging down by swinging back up with more force as the kinetic energy moves from club head to ball with only minimal compression / decompression of the ball because the kinetic energy is so low relative to full swing.

The key to chipping with a less massive club head speed is using a whip cracking / axe 🪓 chopping wrist action with a very light trail hand grip — a HOGAN WAGGLE not the up waggle he did in his pre-shot routine the downward whack into the ground under the ball in the actual swing.

Hogan just fooled everyone with the waggle by doing it backwards in the pre-shot routine UP FAST – down slow when in his actual swing he snapped club down with wrists just before ball contact. The downside risk in the technique is if you snap the hands down and face square too soon the face snaps closed as ball is releasing putting ‘hook spin’ on it. But you’ll NEVER slice unless shanking it with the hosel, then its not a SLICE its a HOSEL ROCKET 😂

Why to you think Hogan said, THE SECRET IN THE DIRT? Just chop the club head into the ground under the ball ⚽️ like an 🪓 with the hands and just let the ball get in the way and the results will amaze you.

I played with PING Eye 2 for many years then switched to S57 now am using Mizuno T-Zoid.

But what I was using to learn to accelerate the club head with my hands was a set of circa 1979 Wilson Reflex Iron. Very very small and light – the first slot design. Sweet spot the size of a pencil eraser but like butter if you put it on the ball with sufficient club head VELOCITY via 🪓 action with the hands and arm which those clubs forced me to learn to do. What ‘game improvement’ clubs like the PING EYE 2 did is the same as this PING CHIPPER add mass in the club head to compensate for the lack of club head V^2 in the swing of recreational golfer because 99% grip the damn club so tight they can’t waggle it like the pros do. GRIP PRESSURE can’t be seen but is a HUGE variable affecting lag/release and shaft bend

  7. No different to a 7 or 8 iron from close tight lies around the green.
I often use an 8 iron for this shot if there are no obstacles in the way like bunkers etc
