Well, it’s 90 degrees out. I got Mr. McGolf convinced to come with me for at least a nine-hole round. So, we’re going to do what’s in my bag next. [Music] Welcome back to Not the Molf Shop. This is Crown Hill. Crown Hill is about 40 minutes to my north and it’s a favorite place of mine to play. Know a lot of the folks here. And what we’re going to do is we’re gonna go and play a few holes and we’re going to tell you about what’s in my bag as opposed to just showing you on camera and back in the uh m golf fitting room. So, let’s get started. Okay, we’re on hole three. I had to give myself at least a couple holes to get warmed up. And the very first bag that or club in the bag, we’re talking about the driver, right? The driver. So, this is going to be a battle of the drivers. You guys knew that I put the mini driver in the bag because this guy was giving me a little bit of a problem. Uh, I’d think it was just a phobia to be honest with you, but we’re gonna check them out. So, we’re gonna go with the mini driver first. We’re gonna leave this one back here and then uh we’re gonna hit one. So, I have a Callaway Chrome Tour and I have a Wilson staff. So, we will go with the Callaway Chrome Tour first. Now, I will say I I hooked the first two. First one into play. the first their first one out of play, the second one into play. So, I’m teeing it down just a little bit more this time. See if we can’t get it out there. And it’s a bit of a draw. Oh, and he get caught by the damn Oh, I mean, I hit it good, but I got caught by the There’s a little ravine down there, and it wants to take the ball. We’ll see if we can find it, but hit it. Hit it big. Hit it real big. All right, time for the bigger driver. And that’s why this that’s why this thing’s still in the damn bag. All right, let’s go find them. All right, we’re at 92 yards. It was a 357 par4, meaning that uh I went over 240 250 with the mini driver. So, I’m trying to figure out why I need the driver. I know Bob’s going to be telling me that very thing. All right, so now we’re into another set of clubs and we’re going to talk about this a little bit more. Uh I’ve converted over. I have the Callaway Apex AI 300’s. A little more offset. It’s a hollow body iron forged, lots of technology packed into it, and I’ve put the dynamic gold mid 90s’s in it. Uh, this combination has just been a real winner, not only for me, but for folks that I’ve been fitting. So, uh, this is normally a 100 yard club, so I got to take a little bit off of it. I’ve got to get over a tree and land it soft. So, let’s see what we can do. up. Slow down. Oh, hitting the middle of the green and it bounced off the back. The greens must be hard. That’s what I get for well, you know, playing the first round in hell, I don’t know, two months. Let’s go get it. Okay, as you can see, I’m one, two, three, I’m four paces off the green. I’ll take that from a 90 yard shot in the middle of a hard green. Another club. This one stayed in the back for quite some time. It is my uh Callaway Jaws Raw, but it is the J Grind. It has got a full face covering. It’s raw on the face. Uh I just like the scalloped way that the leading edge is into it, and it allows me to open it up just a little bit. And I always thought J Grind meant gym, so I’m keeping it. Now, for those of you guys in the Opus, the Opus is a really nice wedge to be sure. Uh, a little more compact. This one has the higher toe. They’ve gone away from that model now. Uh, but if you were looking for something in this particular model, I would say something in the between the W grind and that uh that Z grind that they’ve got out. So, I got to land about halfway. Let it roll. It’s going to bend to the left a little bit, I believe, and we’ll see what happens. Well, it didn’t break to the left, but by golly, I like it a lot. Nicely done. Okay, so the next thing we got here is I turn around. This one hasn’t left the bag either. It’s the Lab putter. If you guys remember the review of that, you’ll see it uh if I stick it up there. But the lab putter has been with me. I just like the way that it feels. I like the way that it reacts. Uh let’s see if we can’t save par. I really do not like a flag stick in. So, we’ll see if that helps. And uh line this bad boy up. All right. Looks straight enough. Let’s see what we can find. Now, the greens are a little firmer, so they run a little faster, which that’s not a bad thing. You just got to know it. And it turned to the right. Well, we’re going to walk away with a bog. Try it again. See if I can actually putt it this time. There we go. Didn’t see the turn in it. Okay, two putt bog. Oh, after a really nice drive. So, we have to see uh what we can do on the next one. Let’s go to hole number four. So, I hit the mini driver very well this time without the draw and another 250 shot and I’m 65 yards in uh from a pin. It’s right here. There’s a small tree. I’m going to try and stay away from that off to the right. And again, it’s not the 56, it’s the 60. It’s kind of in the wheelhouse of this one. Again, the Jaws raw in the J grind. Uh, this is what got me into the 56 version of it. And it just I just get through the turf so well with it. And it’s very very uh close. The the ground is there’s not a lot of not a lot of grass, but it’s playing soft, so we should be pretty good. There it is. Keep going. Exactly. I know. I walked out of it. There’s exactly what I was wanting. I need to do this more often. All righty. See? Stick, ball, hole. Let’s make them all at one shot. So, I do like what happened. First and foremost, you got to fix your divot. Those who don’t, you got to go to jail. There we go. All right. This one’s going to have a right to left on it. Let’s play some of that. Just missed it. It did break that just that little bit right there. Okay, we’ll take the par, man. Birdie putts, birdie attempts, and bogey shots. Okay, next. Okay, it’s par three number five and it’s 163. It’s right within my uh right within my wheelhouse for my 8 iron. And we’re talking about the irons again. The Apex A300 with the DG Mid90. Why am I talking about again? Because this is the 8 iron. It’s kind of in the lower end of what we would call the mid irons. And each one of these is not all the same shape. They take different shapes in order for the job that you need it to do. So, this one has a little narrower sole uh not to get into too much of the turf and it is the hollow body with the machine metal in the back in order to throw some of that weight underneath of it so that it gets the ball up in the air. So, let’s put that to the test. thinned it out. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Look at that. And it’s still going. Still going. A complete and utter miss, but it rolled up and rolled across the entire green. So, let’s take that one for what it’s worth. I’d rather be lucky than good. Let’s go and figure out what we got to do. All righty. So, just I hit a second shot just to see if I could improve on it and it was a better shot. It still wasn’t very high and I ended up twoft from this one. So, it is what it is. And uh this green is known to be slick. It has a very high tilt. Plus, it’s got a swale in the middle of it. Uh this one is definitely if you come away with a two putt on this one, you do pretty good. I’m sitting here in the what would be the third cut, so it’s pretty thick. Uh I’ve got the sand wedge because all I want to do is knock it up over to the the right as I’m looking at it and then let it feed into the other side. So, let’s see if we can pull this off. turn in. Okay, I’ll take that for a dollar. All right, let’s see if we can This should be one that we can absolutely capitalize on. I’m going to keep the glove on this time. Maybe that was what it said. You always got to figure out a reason other than yourself, right? All right, let’s get this in there for the par. All right, I guess I’m leaving the glove on. Let’s go to another interesting hole. All righty. So, mini driver did a good job. I’m uh 188 out and but it has a massive downhill. You can see right down there I’m one basically 190. I’m going to play it short. I’m going to hit a seven iron and we’re going to see if we can get it up in the air and out through there. Well, I cleared the tree and I’m right in the front of the green and it’s rolling to the middle of the green. There we go. So, as I said in the beginning, it’s freaking hot and it still is hot. However, we had some clouds come in, two or three raindrops, temperatures gone down, but from still hot to just freaking hot. So, let’s go finish this out. All right, so I’m about I’m going to say 40 foot away. This is a bob putt if I ever saw one in my whole life. Uh, we haven’t really talked more about the rest of the stuff. So, the lab putter we know it came I have the Acra engineered by Acro shaft in it with their grip that leans uh a degree and a half to the down to take out loft and I like that. As far as what we’ve seen is uh short irons, the short irons are working pretty good. They get through I’m not I’m not killing them as not trying to hit them hard and they’re really really going well. Uh the mini driver is just a work of art as far as I’m concerned. The one thing we really haven’t got to is the longer clubs. What I’m carrying still is the Paradigm, but I put some graphite uh design shafts in them in order to help out. Now, uh while I was warming up, I hit one basically 240 off the deck. So, the the mini driver could be competing at that particular point, but the the hybrid gets out of stickier situations easier. So, it we might have a shot at using one of those coming up. and we’ll see. But for right now, let’s just make a putt. 40 foot. Here we go. Well, look at that. That’s the first one I’ve left short. Let’s see if we can make this a reality. There we go. I’m here to tell you stick being out is the way to go. All right. an uphill par three that’s going to take a mid iron, a small mid iron, but a mid iron nevertheless. All righty. So, I have a world record with the mini driver. This is a uh 230 yard shot or I’m sorry, a 540 yard par five. I am standing at 240. So, a 290 shot. Now, granted, a lot of this is a bit of a downhill. So, I got some roll, but you know, hey, I can say I hit one. Now, the very shot that we were talking about, the Paradigm hybrid. This is the two or the three hybrid 18 degree, and it’s got the graphite design in it. And I’m 240 out, which is right, it’s smack dab in the wheelhouse of this thing, except for the landing area. There’s all kinds of undulation into this thing, but we didn’t come here to lay up. So, I’m going to try The hardest thing to do is to make sure that you don’t over swing. That’s the big going to be the big deal. Now, back to the Paradigm. The Paradigm has the uh the jailbreak AI in it, meaning that it had the support in the face and it’s a forge face with some uh perimeter weighting in it. And it’s got that pear-shaped look to it. And I put a little bit bigger grip on it because I was experimenting with bigger grips and it just feels really good in this particular club. So, we’re going to keep it here. And we’re going to see how many putts they take before they can get off because I’d hate to be a bad neighbor and throw one right into them. Hot. Now, I did mention that it was hot, right? Well, the cloud’s gone, the sun’s back out, the humidity is climbing, and it’s hot. And if you guys are good good morning Vietnam fans, you know what I’m talking about. Okay, let’s hit this ball. I’m going to try and land it. The idea is to land it off to the right here because it’s a little flatter. The stuff in the front just will feed it back down to the back down to the back to the creek. All I got to do is carry it. That’s my big deal of the day. Don’t over swing. Get over. Get over. Sit. I don’t know. I’m going to try another one because I felt like I did over swing. Go ahead and sand. Well, I cleared the creek. We’ll see how either one of them looked out. All right, we find ourselves about 40 yards away from the green. I actually got through the stuff. And you see I chip it up. What I’m going to do is I’m going to walk over and go get my other ball where Robin is moving the camera. And we’re going to try and chip that one up, too, cuz you can never have enough practice. Now, what we have here is a what’s in my bag moment. And as we chip it on, because you’re going to see me with a small wedge and and put a putter in. However, what’s in my bag? Well, you got to have the bag, right? And the bag is going to be the Sun Mountain C130 with the red, white, and blue theme on it. I’ve had it for a couple years. The thing is outstanding. And it’s been around with me for a while, and it probably be with me for a few more years. The TE’s I’m using are the Friction TE’s. They’re green cuz I just I like green. Golf balls I’m using are going to be the Callaway Chrome Tour and the Wilson Staff. As I said earlier, I’ve tried some of the other ones, but these just seem to work the best for me. Now, the other as far as going forward, uh, you know, the you got to see the mini driver in action. You got to see my hybrids. I don’t carry any fairway woods. I really do like the the paradigms. I think they’re a wonderful tool. I think the elites would probably be just as fine. The A300 Apexes from Callaway are the way to go. And then my J grind wedges are just something uh to just, you know, they just fit me. And that’s really important about getting that fit taken care of. And the last bit is the lab putter. The lab putter has been an outstanding uh tool and a putter for me and I think it’s a wonderful thing. If you guys have any questions, uh don’t be afraid to ask. Put them in the show notes and don’t forget to join us Mondays on the live stream. And as always, let’s see your scores. Go low. After that,

I personally prefer the Calloway AI smoke fairway woods in hybrids over the paradigm. I have the AI smoke 5 wood and I smoke it.
