The Rogers High School athletics program is gearing up for its annual fundraising golf tournament, inviting the community to support student-athletes while enjoying a day on the links.
The Rogers Invitational Golf Tournament will take place on Friday, August 8, at Green Valley Country Club, located at 371 Union Street in Portsmouth. The event features a 12:30 shotgun start and promises a full day of golf and community engagement.
“This tournament is more than just a game of golf,” said Rogers High School Athletic Director Anthony Borgueta. “It’s about investing in our students and the values of teamwork, perseverance and school pride. Every dollar raised will go directly into programs that make a real impact.”
The annual tournament serves as a crucial fundraising event for Rogers High School’s athletics programs, with proceeds supporting equipment updates, new uniforms, facility improvements, and expanded opportunities for student-athletes to compete and develop both athletically and personally.
Participants can expect an 18-hole round of golf at the Portsmouth country club, along with lunch, player gift bags, and raffle opportunities. The day will also feature on-course contests including longest drive and closest to the pin competitions, followed by an awards ceremony.
Both individual golfers and foursomes are welcome to participate, and sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses and community members looking to support the cause. Tee box sponsorships are among the options for those interested in contributing to Rogers High School athletics.
Registration and sponsorship information can be found at bit.ly/rogers25. Those interested in participating or learning more about sponsorship opportunities can contact Athletic Director Anthony Borgueta at 401-595-8947 or anthonyborgueta@npsri.net.
The tournament represents an opportunity for the Portsmouth community to come together in support of local student-athletes while enjoying a day of golf at one of the area’s premier golf facilities.
