Can we Break Jack Nicklaus 70 year old Course Record
Today, Good is trying to break Jack Nicholas’s 70-year-old course record. He shot a 66 here at Sciota Country Club when he was just 15 years old. Sean and Brad are playing their own ball. Garrett Mo are playing best ball. Bubby and Blake scramble. Steven Matt scramble. Not only are we chasing Jack’s legendary score, we’re also obviously trying to beat each other. Welcome to Sciota Country Club. So, we’ve made it to the first te out here at Sciota Country Club. Um, and today the format is slightly complicated. Uh, there’s going to be two forsomes. We have eight guys out here. Now, Jack Nicholas when he was 16 shot a 66. 15. He was 15 and he shot a 66 out here. And I’ve heard this course is very undulated, very tough. Uh, TA Fairway is not too bad, but then when you get on the greens, it’s going to be a big challenge if you’re above the hole. up. What we’re going to be doing today is we’re going to do twoman scrambles uh with Steve and Matt going for that 66 number and Blake and Bubby going for the 66 number. Now, me and Mo are going to go best ball and Brad and Sean are going to go individual. So, it’s kind of like a good good major, but a little bit of a twist on it. We’re trying to ideally come close to breaking Jack Nicholas’s 15year-old uh score that he shot out here, which is it’s kind of crazy that we’re like trying to beat a 15year-old. But anyways, hole number one out here. I’m excited. It’s a walking course. We need to walk it off because we were just out at Mirrorfield. Uh we had these beautiful milkshakes with an amazing meal. But it is sitting like I literally have twin babies in my stomach right now. Dude, we literally had lunch with Jack Nicholas today and he talked for a long time. Like he enjoyed talking about golf. That’s what I was actually very impressed about. He’s, you know, over the age of 80 and he’s still talking like he just got into the game of golf. He absolutely loves it. And he remembers like every shot like that he hit in tournaments and stuff. That’s the most impressive. That’s what was really impressive about him. I just got one more text from Scott that uh Jack just uh verified his first time breaking 70 here was when he was 13. He broke he broke 70 here when he was 13. So that’s another marker. And it’s a US Senior Open out here that coach Jack grew up on. That’s pretty dope. Easily could see that happen. This is a very tricky course. If you’re not hitting it well, you can get in some bad spots, but it’s a beautiful property. Um, and I think today was one of the greatest days I’ve ever had. I mean, got to meet Got to meet Jack. We got to talk. Got to shoot some stuff back and forth. Have lunch with Jack. I didn’t know we were doing that. Yeah. No. I mean, it was just such a a beautiful and blessed day.
