Cook of the Southern Cup Crew is on vacation in Perdido Key, Fl with his family. Cook and his daughter, Caroline will attempt to Break 30 at Soldier’s Creek at the Preserve in Elberta, AL across the bay from Perdido Key

Heat. [Laughter] [Music] Heat. [Music] Oh, [Music] this is Cook from Sun. I got my girl Caroline here. We’re at Soldiers Creek Reserve Course in Alberta, Alabama. We’re on vacation down here at Partido Beach and uh we’re going to try to break 30 on the front nine and let’s go do it. All right, we’re here at number one. It’s 341 yards from the red TE’s. We’re going to play the red TE’s. Caroline hasn’t played a lot of golf lately. Uh since she’s in college, she’s a junior in college at Mississippi College. And we’re going to get after D. Let’s see what we can do. Good ball, Caroline. Absolutely hammered. Yeah, that felt good, not going to lie. Good shot. [Music] Great drive by Caroline. Uh it’s a long uh par fourth on the red TE’s here on the first one. Uh been at the beach all morning and wanted to get out here, play, and uh have a good time. Uh Caroline, how’d you do on that first one? Um good. I was really nervous. First time on the channel, my heart rate was quite high. She really hit it well, though. I mean, really well. Uh, let’s see what we got. And, uh, stay tuned. Um, just like to put it out there. We shot from the same tea box. I don’t know if you can see. There’s my ball. There he is. So, honestly, not too bad for someone who’s played two rounds of golf in four years. Good looking shot. Kick low. Kick low. Oh, good shot, Caroline. Thanks. Got 60° winds behind us. I’m saying you probably need to hit it about I don’t know 85 90 yards. We’ll get [Music] Oh, yeah. Good shot. We can make that. All right, Caroline’s just barely off the green. I’m going say I’m about I don’t know 10 12 feet for a birdie. Let’s get it. Oh, what a putt. Good birdie. That’s what I’m talking about. Hey, great putt by Caroline. One under after the first one. Uh headed to number two. And uh hey, let’s keep it going. Um, if you’re wondering why I use the red paws, it’s because I can’t see at all out here. And your girl needs to find her ball because sometimes she gets a little janky. You’ll see. Don’t worry, guys. There he goes in his natural habitat looking for golf balls. All right, we’re at number two. It’s 267 yards. Got to take advantage of here. It’s one of the few shorter hole par4s. Uh Caroline’s going to hit a good one right here. Let’s hope. Stay short of the trap. Could be close. Right in front of the trap. Didn’t hit it great, but got a shot at it. Can’t make this up. Think they want to play golf with us. Not sure. Probably found another ball, guys. Well, hey. Yeah, we are. You know, I’m the ball guy. Uh, I think we found nine already on the first one and a half holes. We were waiting on another group right there to get by. Uh, decent drive. Think I’m just short of the trap. So, be right there in front and uh, we’ll get at it. See if we can get two in a row for eagle. Uh, let’s get it up there close. Caroline, unfortunately, this is the worst part of the fight. So, good looking shot. Caroline, get your run out. Oh. Get in the hole. Good putt. H little tap in par. Gracious. So, I’m already hot. Look at this. Goodness. Got a little warm today. Uh par on this one. Real close. Caroline had a great putt. I was close. Disappointing cuz it only 267 yards, but got a short uh a 129 par 3 right here. You got to take advantage of it. Pars are tough. Uh par threes are usually where they get caught, but uh maybe we can get a birdie out of it. All right. Great. Carolina was just to the right a little bit. Uh we got about 18 to 20 ft right here. Caroline fix to make it. Get in. Get in. Good putt. Didn’t hit it. par the uh par three. Uh Caroline had a great putt. Barely missed the birdie. Going to number four, which is a par five, 370. Uh really need to take advantage of it. Maybe get one on and make an eagle or uh please take a birdie. Par 4 372. Uh par par five, excuse me. 372. Uh Caroline’s up first. And uh let’s get after it. Oh, got a five iron. Hopefully I can hit it. You can do it. Good looking shot. Right in the sand, I think. Get up. Get up. Oh, good shot. On the green. Just a little. Caroline had a good shot. Uh just right in front of the bunker in front. And uh got one over here to the left at the top on the green. Probably got about a I don’t know 30footer 35 ft putt for eagle. Need to get one up there close or go ahead and make it. That one’s wet. Not bad. Take it though. It’s close. All right. Just birdied the par five. We’re two uh two under after four holes. Uh going to looks like a par three. No, actually it’s a short uh par 4. 225. Caroline can actually drive the green right here with a good one. Uh hey, let’s get after it. Okay. Hopefully we can hit it up there close. Might have to play the slice because it’s all I’ve done. Okay. Good ball, Caroline. Not bad. Sit soft. Should be all right. It’s four hybrid, five hybrid. Oh yeah, the right club. Come on. Ah, just right in front of it. Uh, hit a decent four hybrid up there about I don’t know. Looks like I’m right in front of the green. Uh, got chip and uh maybe get one up there close. [Music] That’s it. Get in the hole. Get in the hole. Get in. Oh, good shot, Caroline. Shot, Caroline. All right. What a great shot by Caroline. Hit the pin. Uh, what? I thought it was going in. Uh, got to make this shot right here for another birdie. Great putt by Caroline. Nice birdie. Uh, what about that chip shot you just did? You know what? It was pretty good, I guess. It was pretty good, I guess. Yes. Makes us what? Three under after five holes. Always love the back board, you know. That’s right. [Music] All right, we have approaching hole six. This is a 288 par4. We need a birdie out to feel good about ourselves. Maybe I can um help out more on the T- box this time. You did a great chip on that last one and butt. So, uh, we’re tag teaming it a good bit. Uh, what do you think about this course right here? Oh, it’s pretty. Yeah. Um, first time playing not in Mississippi. Actually in Alberta, Alabama. It’s called the preserve. Uh, beautiful course. Um, used the tea off app to uh get a get a rate and uh really beautiful. Um, they get after it right here. Number six, uh, par 4, like 288. Uh, got a bunch of geese in the fairway. Pretty hole. Uh, surrounding the lake. Good ball. Back just a little bit. Shot. There he goes. Sarah hit a good drive. Caroline hit one good. Just hit it to the left just a little bit. Uh she’s off this week and uh she goes back to M City College next week uh for orientation. She’s the orientation leader for Mississippi College. She’s super busy on campus and uh I know she loves that uh job, don’t she? Yeah, it’s great. You should all go to NC. It’s a great place to be. All right, we’re going to get one close. Good looking chip. Get in the hole again. I’m back. Big putt right here for birdie. Get three in a row. Good putt. That’s how you do it. Three in a row. Let’s do it. All right. Three birdies in a row. Uh I finally made a long putt. Um here’s another 300 par4. Not, you know, playing from the up. That’s not a short hole. So, uh got to take advantage of it. Hit a good drive right here and see if we can get four in a row. Hopefully the hat brings me good luck. Good ball, Carolina. Lost that one in there. Good shot. Oh, it didn’t even go in the bunker. To the left of the bunker. Oh, yeah. That’s the best one I’ve hit so far. You know, my one advantage of being a female golfer is that I get to hit 100 yards ahead of the boys, but I lose that advantage cuz he’s hitting from the right. So, I haven’t used a single one of mine. Well, nice. So, I don’t know what these things want from me. Good looking shot, Carolina. Oh, get on it. Get on it. Great shot. Oh, get close. Get your roll out. Get your roll out. Hey, we got options. Got two of them up there. There it goes. Got two good shots up here. Probably our best two shots together. Uh probably going to use Caroline’s. Hers is a little closer and straight up the hill. All right, Caroline with the putt. Get in. Get in. Good putt. Four in a row. Four. All right. Shorter par three 107. SP four holes in a row. So right now we’re sitting five under after seven. Uh you know par threes on a scramble or you know if we get a birdie here it’d be great. Then we have a chance to you know break 30 on the front. So uh let’s keep it going. All right, Caroline with pitch and wedge. [Music] This is my favorite club in high school. Don’t laugh at this before. [Music] Good shot, Carolina. Little left. Smoked that ball. Good shot, though. I got my 60° and it hit up real close. [Music] Oh yeah, I hit it up there close. Close. Uh, hit it really good. Hit a 60° up there about I don’t know 2 feet. Uh, hit soft and landed good. Caroline hit one really well just right over the left with a pitching wedge. We need to make a birdie right here. This will be five birdies in a row for the fifth one in a row. Five in a row. Let’s make it, Carolina. Nice. Five in a row. We’re six under. One more with one hole to play. It is a par five. It’s pretty long. About 438. Uh we got a chance right here to break 30. Got some wiggle room. Yep. So, playing good. Let’s finish strong. All right. Like you said, par five pretty long, but par five means we have some room to go to birdie. Yeah. I mean, we just birdied a par three. It went up there close and, you know, playing with Caroline. Caroline played high school golf, finished fifth in the state her senior year, but hasn’t played hardly any golf because she’s a nursing school and is really a busy be on campus and kind of I think she runs Mississippi College on the side, but we’ll see. Uh but so we’re just uh going to take advantage of this last hole. We’ve been having a lot of fun. Uh we’re at the beach this week with the family and uh we’re going to get after it. All right, number nine. We’re six under, which is really crazy. Uh we are 438 yard par five, which is a long par five for a women’s T and a red T. And uh hey, we’re fixing to get after it. Good ball right down the middle. I mean, that ball is smoked. Good job, Caroline. I lost it in the straight down the middle. [Music] Split the fairway a little low. Uh, but hey, we’ll have a chance to get after it. There goes my red tea advantage. All right, we got 230. Uh, Caroline’s going to hit a hybrid. I think I’ve hit this solid once in my life. Okay, so let’s go. You can do it. [Music] Not bad. Just hit it out to the right. Hit it. Well, yeah. Roll out. Roll out. They left with the trap. Oh, we’re right there on the fringe. We got a chance. Yeah. Do I need to try to like let flat or like this? Dragler, get over that ridge. Get over that ridge. Run. Run. About 10 ft. Got a work cut out to break 30. Get in. Get in. Good putt. That’s it. Did it get stuck? That’s just right there. It’s moving. It’s moving. Oh my gosh. Goodness. Oh my goodness. Look at that. One more turn would have broke 30. Uh the wind I think was blowing the other way. I think it would go in. We’re going to tap in right here for a 30. Hey, I’m in one more turn of the golf ball for breaking 30. Uh, had a great time out here. Shot a 30. We made five birdies in a row. Caroline, uh, it wasn’t bad. So close. Uh, still a great day when you’re outside with your daughter and, uh, getting to spend time with her. Uh, you know, it’s a great day. Uh, we’ll just have to try again next time.
