Scottie Scheffler will be looking to maintain his recent form with a strong showing at the Scottish Open this week, and it’s a challenge he is very much looking forward to.
The current world number one goes into this week’s event on the back of a run of three victories and three top ten finishes in the last six tournaments.
Scottie Scheffler is always one to watch, and he’d certainly be a safe bet ahead of the Scottish Open 2025. However, he’ll have a solid field around him trying to put a stop to the dominance he has over the PGA Tour.
One man that will quite literally be standing in his way over the opening two rounds at the Scottish Open will be last year’s winner, Robert MacIntyre.

Looking ahead to teeing off on Thursday, Scheffler was asked about his relationship with MacIntyre and was full of praise for the Scotsman.
Scheffler said: “I’m definitely excited for the week. I’ve got a good pairing to start the first couple days, and both guys played well in the tournament last year.
“Bob got a tough break two years ago with Rory birdieing the last two holes in pretty challenging conditions to beat him by one and for him to bounce back and win last year was nice for me to see, and I was happy for him.
“He’s a guy that works really hard, and he’s one of the great guys out here. So it was nice to see him get it done at his home tournament.”
Scheffler will be paired up with MacIntyre and Adam Scott for the first two rounds up at North Berwick for the Genesis event.
MacIntyre was victorious on home turf last year with a dramatic birdie on the 18th hole to shoot 67 in his final round and defeat Scott by just one shot.

Winning the Scottish Open is no mean feat, with the course at North Berwick presenting an especially tricky challenge for even the finest golfer. But, this is something Scheffler finds exciting and very, very satisfying when visiting the Home of Golf.
He added: “I think any time you’re able to win a tournament on the PGA TOUR or DP World Tour, I think you’ve done something very special. It’s very challenging to win out here. It would be very special to win at the Home of Golf, and like you said, it’s a different style of golf that we play throughout the year.
“So to be able to win a tournament on this golf course, or next week [at The Open Championship], that says a lot about a player, especially if they are coming over from the States. Like I said, you have to hit a lot of different shots and do things that we don’t normally do with golf in the States. I think it’s really fun. It brings a new level of play to what we normally do.”
Scheffler may have already qualified for the Ryder Cup team, but finally adding the Scottish Open to his long list of Tour wins would be a huge victory for the 29-year-old and further solidify Scheffler’s advantage in the PGA Tour rankings.
