Max Homer’s challenging 2025 PGA Tour season took a light-hearted twist after fellow golfer Justin Thomas poked fun at his physique on social media. Homer, who finished T5 at the John Deere Classic, his best result since the Masters, posted photos thanking fans and joking about losing 15 pounds in the Heat. Thomas replied, “Good. You needed it, Tubby.” Prompting a playful, “Thanks for holding me accountable from Homer.” Despite the banter, Homer’s season remains disappointing with seven missed cuts and a drop in the world rankings from number five to number 98. He parted ways with longtime Caddyy Joe Grryer earlier this year and failed to qualify for the US Open. Meanwhile, Thomas, who didn’t play at TPC Dear Run, has posted seven top 10 finishes and sits comfortably in Ryder Cup contention.
