The Rolex Series returns to the DP World Tour as The Renaissance Club hosts the Genesis Scottish Open. This year is the third time this event has been co-sanctioned with the PGA TOUR as 75 players from both tours will compete. Rory McIlroy returns to defend his title and make his first appearance since his runner-up finish at the U.S. Open. McIlroy the claimed Hero Dubai Desert Classic earlier this year and was victorious in the Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA Tour in May. Since then, he hasn’t finished worse than tied 15th, which includes a tied 12th at the US PGA Championship and the solo second finish at Pinehurst. Tommy Fleetwood will also be teeing it up in Scotland. Across his last four starts in this event, the world number 11 has finished in the top ten on three occasions and missed out on victory in a play-off against Aaron Rai in 2020. He also claimed 3T at the Masters and has been no worse than a tie for 26th in his last six starts. Ludvig Åberg is in the field this week. The Swede brilliantly claimed 2T on his Masters debut in April and played well for a 12T finish at the US Open three weeks ago. Others to look out for include Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland.

here is a man who’s attracted a lot of interest this week Bob McIntyre playing with Adam Scott He to pared the first so he been looking for a good one in here get the release coming up rough that you would expect there it’s okay well he gave it a chance de Bob McIntyre with bit of luck he’ll pop that one in and it will be a parar start then he’s got a scoring section coming up three through six McIntyre meanwhile oh B that was just a delight what’s he got Bob oh what about that the locals are going to enjoy this today there’s going to be a lot of pin peppering much Breeze about Green’s holding now Bob McIntyre has driven the green at the short path for Fifth and sort of hitting across the little ledge so not a huge amount of break for a two for a two Robert McIntyre right into the heart of the cup look at that birdie birdie eagle and he moves to the top of the leaderboard man of the moment 155 pin right at the back just about there sounds like the whole of Scotland’s with him just didn’t quite turn as much as he thought he was going to you could sort of heal and hear and fear the the agony of the people around the green he said coming into the week he’s felt as calm as he’s ever felt playing in his National Open Championship which of course he would love to win he looks quite calm out there as well what a shot he’s right on top form here McIntyre my goodness me what a start this has been from McIntyre looks like a good line yeah he’s just going at every flag it’s great to have Bob McIntyre here Paul isn’t it nearly get up get up straight out it not bad tough hole name very narrow at the back it so this is a two Putt and get out of here be a good three in these conditions [Applause] he’s within one now McIntyre yeah just in the 290 range Adam Scott had the same didn’t get there he’s up the right went left here yesterday McIntyre he’s got a good lie mind but that’s all he’s played some wonderful shots around the green that was a tough one over that knuckle really [Applause] was to get to 14 under oh he’s got it he’s got it he is pouring them in today another big raw for Robert McIntyre beautiful they’re so satisfying those ones down the slope when you just get exactly the right line exactly the right pace 15 under par the top of the leaderboard Bob McIntyre [Applause] just straight at it sorry K straight at [Applause] it some nice birdly holes coming up you know they can really three or four birdies between now and the end that was a strange one he’s been aggressive all day hold quite a few McIntyre not too bothered with that one is he perfect spot for McIntyre Sho nice members bounc way up the bank semi he’d be happy with the result he wasn’t happy in the air carried a long weekend is it up that hill he looks confident doesn’t he yeah he does his chipping was great yesterday he was still successful W in his ra to cup debut that’s the issue isn’t it [Applause] oh to judge this [Applause] down down jump down oh go go out of the rough to sort of squeeze it past that pop bunker outstanding shot Robert McIntyre he shot a little bit out of position lovely approach and then another birdie joins ohberg at the top of the leaderboard I like to just watch the crowd behind when he hits this desperate for it to go [Applause] in swinging well sometimes just gets a little loose at the top but it’s right in in the slot that is a humdinger should be pitching at least a third up this green right on it really unlucky another fine shot from McIntyre so expect him to give this one a go he learned a little bit on 12 it was very slow to take the lead and 16 and let’s see if McIntyre can rejoin o in a share of the lead it’s another big cheer Bird’s at 15 and 16 for Scotland’s Bob [Applause] McIntyre there half a chance of MC time not sure he likes it she sitting nicely this has to carry the little Bluff canwise it won’t get there he’s with a 60 incredible shot incredible shot little daring what a great shot that was Splendid landed just enough on the up slope with just enough low trajectory to let it release forward was quality all that school boy chipping at his home Club yeah this was beautiful nudg the in-law with a lob wedge off the back foot so close to going in right there beautiful hands for just might go in this time third time left oh he thought he had it too he thought he had it [Music] this has come out flat and [Applause] right so two parts and move on this is not easy to get this all the way back he W have hit put this hard for a while would be for equaling the course’s record it’s an unlikely [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] one te J that was a decent put yeah well just a little bit of pace kept it out there expecting it to dive left at the hole bogy at the last but it is a seven underp power round of 63 for Scotland’s Robert McIntyre well it’s got a golfing hero you should know all about that [Applause] Kenny well thanks for joining us obvious disappointment the bogy the last but on a day when you needed something special to make inroads into a four shot deficit pleased with your die no I’m delighted look the last is is a difficult hole whether it’s flat cam downwind into wind it’s it’s difficult and when they put the pin up that top shelf it makes even harder but overall I played I played absolutely brilliantly um T to Green was was solid again rolled apart beautifully and yeah just got to let it happen and and it happened seven birdies and an eagle in the round the crowd were getting louder and louder as the round progressed we could hear it from here what was it like from your point of view no it’s brilliant look to come home and have the the home support I mean I said it from the start I just want to be in with a Chance going into Sunday and i’ I’ve given myself that chance and that’s all I can ask when I’m when I’m back home in Scotland that’s I’ve said it from the start it’s the one I want but I can only control me and I’ve controlled myself very well so far and I’ve got 18 holes to control myself even more obviously only the Brilliance of Rory mroy snatched this title away from you last time around you have got that opportunity again tomorrow just give us your thoughts on that opportunity yeah it’s look this I’ve not been shy and saying it the Scottish open is the one the one that I want um and it’s not going to change tomorrow I’m in that position um I’ve been doing doing good things I’ve been playing well not just this week but for the previous kind of eight weeks I feel like my game’s been in good shape and tomorrow’s just another round of golf and I just got to control me and if I do that well then we’re going to be on my chance we look forward to watching great plan today well done thank you to watch another DP world to video click here and to subscribe click here

Not every shot though is it 😂
Every shot, starts on 2nd shot. Accurate.
MacIntyre was so good this day that he hit his first shot of the day on the second hole from just off the fairway.
