Hey team worldwide, welcome back to the channel. If you haven’t seen us before, hit that like and subscribe button. We have got all the awesome golf content you’re going to want to see. Today we are checking out Ping’s brand new iron that’s replacing the i230, the i240. Let’s have a quick dive into the tech and then we’re going to hit it and see the differences. The i240 has changed its groove pattern. If you can see this on the camera, it’s got more spaced out grooves that are going to provide more spin from the fairway. They’re boasting the i240 as their highest ever flighted players iron. So hopefully we’re going to see a slightly higher flight than the i230. And you can see the badge work in the back. There is a cavity hidden inside the i230, but it’s actually been made more visible in the i240. This badge, ABS badging, is designed to make it sound quieter and feel softer, but it’s also helped change this perimeter weighting to increase the MOI with the weight placement change and make it more forgiving. So, all in all, we’re looking for a higher flighted, more forgiving iron in a similar package. Let’s find out. So, starting with the i230. This is a really hard one for me to get away from. As a fitter, I was a big fan of this. It provided high ball flight and a nice package. And Ping always do a good job of making this technology look hidden. Let’s start off and hit a few with the i230. I think ping always highlight well with between forging and casting. Both these products are cast. That sounds pretty good to me. I don’t know if anyone can really tell and feel the difference between forge and cast. What Ping do with their casting technology makes it feel exactly as soft as a forge club. Anyway, it’s good to get a missit in there. Hopefully, we’re going to see with the new i240 perimeter waiting that that tow strike is going to be a little more stable. Maybe go a little straighter. I really hope Ping have done something great with the R240 cuz this 230 is a really good golf club. Again, little mishit to finish there. It’s perfect. We need a couple in the bag. Don’t forget to hit the like and subscribe button. Jump in the comments. Tell us what you think about the i230 if you’ve been playing it. What your thoughts are the i240’s technology are. If you think they’re going to make a difference, if you think that the i240 might go in your bag, let us know. So, noticeable difference in design on the back here. You can see much more cavity in the back. A little bit more color on the badge, carbon fiber looking. It’s good good looking back of the golf club. I stand over it and I actually don’t see a lot of difference other than the groove pattern. And I can noticeably see the grooves are more spread out on the 240 versus the 230. There is a different sound. I don’t know if it’s necessarily softer, but it is it’s different. I also do like that the i240 are using the nippon motors 115 g in as a stock option. I think for the player that wants to play this golf club, this is a really nice stable mid-flight golf shaft. Oh, that felt really good. There’s a there’s a difference. I don’t know if you can hear it, but there’s an absolute difference between the sound. 230 and 240. I prefer the 240. I really do. That was a little low in the face. This will be interesting to see. Wow, it is forgiving when you’re moving these weights around with the making the badge lighter essentially gives them freedom to place weight elsewhere in the head. Also, they got the tungsten weight in the toe. Gets the MOI higher, makes the weight more towards the toe, more forgiving toe strike. Center of gravity gets lower, easier to hit the ball higher. Wow. I’m excited to see the numbers. Jump in the comments. Let us know what you think’s happening here. That was a tow strike. I’m really impressed with the i240. Can’t wait to see the numbers. I I was worried. I230 was such a great golf club. Ping had a mountain to climb to at least match it. Let’s check out the numbers and see what happened. Well, the numbers match the technology. The verdict’s in. I got higher ball speed from the i240. I got more launch. I got more spin. I got better stopping power for exactly the same carry number. And just take a look at those dispersion charts. Much, much tighter with the I240. That was literally five shots, no editing, five shots with each club. I had a little mishit with each. That’s pretty exciting. If you’ve been an i230 player, I think this warrants going and checking it out in a fitting bay. I think the extra ball speed, height, and stopping power is going to give you more control on the golf course. You’re not going to trade off any visuals. You’re getting a better sound in my opinion. I think the package with the modus golf shaft really matches up well. And I really encourage you to go and get your fitting at Worldwide Golf retail location. You can do that by heading into one of the stores or going to worldwidegolf.com and book your i240 fitting today. Make sure you hit that like and subscribe button. Tell us if you enjoy the content. We look forward to reviewing more products soon.

  1. I hit the i240 yesterday and loved it! Feels soft, spins a ton, launches high. Feels way better than the i230 did. This would be great for the top of the bag combo set with the blueprint irons.

  2. No strike location data ? Yet you are claiming you got higher ball speed and tighter disperson – which you did. But you are implying it was due to the club. How do you know.? How do we know ?

  3. I think it comes down to the ball you are using. If you use a really high compression ball, nothing is going to feel super soft.
