Catering a wedding at Forest Park Golf Course
All right, so we have one wedding tonight at Forest Park Golf Course. I’m just waiting for Kyle to back the truck and trailer up so we can start getting things loaded. Um, usually things that we get loaded first thing is the menu board. Um, and like the little tote that has like the scoopers, um, the little name plates for the ice cream and then, um, we plug the trailer in so the ice cream car can get cool and then we’ll load ice cream up in a few hours once it gets cold. So, he is backing up right now. So, a few things we can put into the trailer now while the freezer’s cooling down is our little tote here. We have our scoopers. We have our ice cream um labels for the flavors. And then we have these nifty lights that we like to bring when we’re serving late. These are little magnetic lights that we can stick to the menu board. Um, so like tonight we’re serving 8:30 to 10:00, so it’s going to be pretty dark. Um, so we have these little lights that magnetize on the menu board so guests can see the flavors. For the ice cream cart, we customize a letter board that sits on the cart. So tonight’s wedding is Hannah and Matt, and they just wanted their names on there, which is super cute. All right, and now let’s get the menu board done. All right. On one side of the menu board, I write the flavors that the couple is getting. So, they’re getting three flavors tonight because their guest count is around 100 people. The other side of the ice cream menu board, I write when the ice cream cart will open. So, tonight is opening around 8:30 p.m. Now, let’s get the stuff loaded. Get the cart plugged in so it has a chance to cool off. This is what the inside of our little trailer looks like. Always make sure we have enough spoons, napkins. We have a whole box of spoons here that is pretty full. We have extra cups um to serve out of. Looks like this needs to be refilled for rags. So, we have to take this out so we can refill this. And we have enough Windex. We have enough bleach solution. Um this is just bleach and water to sanitize. Um and we always make sure we have like trash bags, gloves, um napkins, all the things that we need. Um so, we are ready to roll. All right, we got our tote with more rags filled up. I put this little other tote here. Um, and let’s go get the menu board. And then we’ll put the menu board up on that counter. And then we’re also going to plug this in so we can plug this in. Um, run an extension cord from the trailer to our house so the cart can start getting cooled off. And then we’re going to head to the shop, do some tastings, come back, and then the ice cream cart will be cooled off enough to load ice cream in. Let’s get ice cream out and put it in the case in the trailer. We have lavender s’mores and pineapple strawberry sorbet. All right, and we are off to cater a wedding. All right, what is the most stressful part of catering a wedding? I would say the most stressful time for me personally is the traveling gives me the most anxiety. Traveling from here to the venue just because I want to make sure the day is perfect. We have one opportunity to make this couple’s day special. No resets, no redos. So traveling, the chance of getting an accident or having any issues, any delays, just making sure we get get there okay and the ice cream is all frozen and good to go. I’d say that’s the worst part. And the loading in can be challenging sometimes. there’s guests be boopping around and stuff. So, we want to make sure that um we don’t bother the guests too much while we load in. So, driving in the close second would be loading in. Yeah. And what is the most fun part of catering a wedding? For sure. Serving. You know, we’ve been working with this couple for one to two years sometimes and their special days here. We get to see the couple on their most bestest day and I get to have a lot of fun and joke with the guests. serve all these guests who want ice cream. So, that’s definitely the most fun part. We just stopped in Colia to drop off ice cream for one of our wedding vendor friends. So, sometimes if we’re on our way to a wedding um venue, we’ll meet somewhere to deliver ice cream to wedding vendor friends, previous couples, family. Um so, we’re like the little ice cream dealers. We are almost to the wedding. We have about 3 minutes until we are there. People are probably like, “What is that?” into the parking lot. Oh, there’s the door. Made it to the wedding. I’m just waiting for Kyle to get the trailer to a cool spot so we can unload the carts and then we’re going to go into this building here and then go out into the back patio. And I’m so happy it is not as hot outside tonight because we are serving outside. In the past few months, we’ve served outside. It’s been so hot. We have our water jug for running water. We put that underneath there. We’re going to unload. Kyle does this part because these carts are very heavy. Like this cart in here is like 600 lb. Just the cart itself is 600 lb. When you have ice cream in there, it’s even more because each can of ice cream weighs about 7 lbs. So, we have 7 14 21 lbs extra in there. I feel bad that I can’t help. This is so heavy. [Music] skills. There you go. Where are you taking us? I want to go to law. So, forensic science and then you’ll Yeah, probably hopefully for like Okay. Yeah. [Music] You wipe all the rims off of the ice cream. Make sure it’s picture perfect. Uh yeah, our shop we have is in red, but we have employees that now we have about 30 minutes until we are ready to serve. first time just kind of snooping around, if you will, at this venue cuz we have not been at this venue before. Um, this is really pretty. I guess this is where they probably got they probably had the ceremony here. Um, really pretty flowers and stuff. I love when venues have really pretty flowers. But look how cute these are. So stinking cute. Little pretty roses. This is like right on the golf course. Like there’s actually golfers right there playing golf. Um, and we are at the for I don’t know if I mentioned where we were at, but we were at the Forest Park golf course um, down in Forest Park. And this is just so pretty with the lights hanging. And I’m actually going to show you guys over there because there’s like hanging lights on the other side that are really, really pretty. Oh, and I wanted to show you guys the cart is all set up and ready. So when the bride and groom come out, we can serve them. And it’s such a cute little spot right here with the lights and stuff. Very cute. [Music] Okay, so little lights are out of this door. This is really, really cute. Very fun. I like the little ivy that’s hanging also. It’s super, super cute out here. Super duper cute. It’s so fun going to new venues and just seeing different things. We go to a lot of the same venues, but once in a while we’ll be at a new venue and it’s just so fun seeing new things. But yeah, if you want to see how close we are to the golf course, like it’s literally right there. Right there. And there’s actually golf carts. Right back here. Right there. Oops. Right there. There’s the golf carts. Um, so it’s super duper close. Oh, someone dropped a rose and it’s so pretty. It’s hot pink and pretty. I love it. I’m gonna give it to Kyle and see what he does. Got you a flower. So cute. We picked great flavor. Don’t eat the What can I get you, my friend? I’ll take this. And I’ll move out of the way. So I need more honestly five only on that one like of course you switching between sleep video games like you’re going to get breakfast and Big big smile. Eyes down. Give him a kiss back. That’s so cute. That is so cute, you guys. fire. [Music] Yes. Look at Oh my gosh. Seriously, how sexy is that? All right, so we are leaving the wedding and this is one of the challenges we have at some venues. Like this is a very tight area. We’re trying to turn the cart, which again, this is 600 lb. You remember me telling you guys earlier, this is 600 lb, if not a little bit more. So, we got to try to turn this to get Well, not we, I should just say Kyle has to try to turn the cart to get into that corner there. You not want to fall down the stairs, but Kyle is really good at maneuvering and picking this heavy duty thing up, and we always make it work. Even if Kyle has to walk around to the other side of the ramp to try to get it down the ramp, it was actually a lot easier getting in than getting out. All right, now it is time to pack up and go home and load everything back up. And here comes Kyle right now. I’m going to get ran over. Watch out. He has ran over the cart. Just kidding. He has not ran over with the car before, but he’s came close. We put this little pad back here just to protect it from bouncing around. Put this here to protect the doors from sliding back and forth during travel. All right. And then we get everything strapped down so we’re not bouncing around and sliding around during travel. [Music] Hey, it’s all tucked in, ready for bed. And it’s all tucked in and ready for bed. And we are, too. But I cannot wait to get home and get a shower cuz I am hot, sweaty, and disgusting. We got to do stuff when we get All right, we are all packed up and ready to go home. But when we get home, the night’s not done yet. We still have dishes to do. Yeah, ice cream dishes to do. Ice cream cart to clean up and put away. Ice cream cart to clean up. Put away. Trailer to put away. Trailer to put away. So, we still when we get home, showers. Yeah, showers. I need to wash my hair. Yeah, it’s 10:30. We’ll be home about 11:30 and then we probably won’t be in bed till 12:31. Yeah, probably 1:00. Um, so we still have a long night ahead and we are tired. I’m ready for bed. I’m ready for a shower, but I’m on a two shower day. Yeah, Kyle’s already taking a shower earlier because he did yard work, so he had to take a shower. And we also cut his hair. I don’t know if you guys noticed that his hair is different. We cut his hair. But yeah, hope you guys enjoyed the videos.
