I got my hands on the most talked about golf clubs on the planet right now – the Takomo SF002 Wedges.
The detail is in the name, these wedges are the 2nd edition of the Skyforger range, promising to add more versatility or forgiveness based on a wide variety of lofts and bounces.
Today I chose to review the 54V which for me, is the best wedge to get if you’re looking to test Takomo out for the first time. The wedge provides an element of forgiveness with room for a lot of creativity around the greens.
This video is my live reaction as I try this wedge for the very first time.

I just got my hands on the hottest golf club in the game right now, the brand new Tacomao Sky Forger wedges. Now, I’ve got a full set of these wedges waiting to be reviewed tomorrow, but I understand that most of you guys are new to Tacomao, so you might just want to get one wedge. If you just want to get one to try out, this 54 degree Versatile is the most versatile club I have ever used. I have just used it there for the very first time and I am blown away. It is so good. Any sort of shots you want to hit, back of the stance, open the face, flop shots, out of bunkers, anything you want to hit, this club can do. I think for me personally, a 54 degree is the most versatile wedge. And with the versatile range coming out by Tacomao, you can open the face, you can close the face. You can do a number of different shots with one wedge. So, I think the 54, if you want to get one, this is the one to get. The thing I’ve noticed the most is the forgiveness. So, I’ll try and hit behind the ball here. And it’s still popping out really nice. You can see couple of hops, then a release. I try and catch it really clean. Just see how much it spins here. Absolutely beautiful. So, they’re pretty much the exact same. I’ve hit one behind the ball. I’ve hit one I thought was really, really clean. And they’re both virtually the same. Now, I like it on the back of the stance with the open face. If I go forward in a stance, try and play a little bit higher, open the face a little bit and just see how much spin that generates. So good. Right, back of the stance. Close the face a little bit. Let’s get it running. Still a lot more spin. Nice control. And by looking at that, you see different shot types. High, low, poor contact. Good contact. They’re all pretty much going in and around the flag. That was heavy behind the ball. Pretty nice. Last one. That’s perfect. Spin right. Really good. Yeah. 54 is the one you want. One wedge out of this new line. Sky Forger 002. You want this one. 54°ree versatile. Beautiful. I’m going to challenge myself here. I’m going to use six balls, two different flags. This short one in the red and then the uh the white in the distance. Let’s see how versatile this is. See if it spins. It does. That’s really nice. Let’s go for a little bit of a lower one now. This thing is so good. Look at this. Oh man. Okay, let’s see if we can lift it a little bit higher. See if it lands really soft. Kind of pushed it. Look how soft that is. Still got the P. Now this short one, even know if it’s in the camera. Let’s check. It is right. Just imagine we’ve got like a little bit of rough above here. The really wind’s really picking up now. Let’s just try and get it little little soft chipper back of the stance. Really, really nice. This is staying in the bag. I was going to take it out for the 52 when I got all four wedges, but this thing is so good. You’ve just seen six shots there live. And all six are relatively close. And I should be able to putt these three for sure. And the three over there, you’ve got a maybe 50/50 chance. So, I’m incredibly impressed with this. As I said, I was thinking about not including this in the bag and having a 50, 56, and a 60, but I think I have to have this in the bag. 54° versatile with a 12 bounce. It is just so, so good. If you want to see more Tacoma reviews, I’ve got the entire wedge set. If you want to see that, make sure you subscribe to the channel. Make sure you like the video right now to let me know that you’re enjoying this. Comment below what do you want to see. Do you want to see a full wedge set review? Do you want to see an individual club? Let me know. But make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss it. Let’s get back into the review. Something you must know about these wedges is the bounce. So this 54° is a 12 bounce. So for the surface I’m using just now, Lynxy really tight lies. You have to hit it absolutely perfect. And this wedge will dig a little bit because of the bounce. The higher bounce. It will dig on more fuller shots. You might want to go for a 50° or 52 in the Tacoma line, but 54 with this versatile bounce is not what you want from distance. I’m waiting to show you here. It might dig. See that there? So, it got stuck in the ground. The 50 52 or 50, it shouldn’t do that. But in this distance here, it’ll dig in the ground as soon as it hits it, a nicer swing. If you’re on Parkland course, absolutely fine. But Lynx golf, this wedge isn’t for you. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Yeah, it’s good around the greens. 54° like if you have one wedge, you should have a 56 or 58 just so you can get your bunkers. Now, we’re going to find out together here whether opening the face on a 54 is good enough to get your bunkers. Now, if you played links golf before, this is the average sort of bunker height you would get. It’s actually it’s not too high, but at the same time, it’s still pretty difficult. If you’re playing in these easy American courses you guys play on, um, this is going to be pretty simple. But links golf, the bunkers are really tough. So, let’s see. Open the face in this 54. See if I can get it out here. Okay. Not bad. Didn’t get much spin. Actually caught a touch heavy. Maybe a little bit more left. Open the face a touch. That’s gone way higher than what I thought it would. I caught a bit heavy, but I’m out. Sometimes when you’re playing, that’s all you need. You just want to be out. And okay, it’s probably I think with a 54 you kind of want a bit more spin than that. If you had a 58 or a 60, you’d get high and you get a little bit of spin. But if you wanted to, you could use this 54. Let’s get really techy. Love it. It’s plugged as well. That’s not fair. I’m not going to plug it for myself. That’s too far. Right. Let’s get really techy here. This thing is incredible. All the shots that you’re seeing here are live. Every single segment, the one there, the one over the back of the green, and this one here, everything is live. my live reaction. First time using this, literally arrived about two hours ago and I went straight out and as I said, although I’ve got the full set on the way, I was going to take this out the bag. I was going to use three other wedges and I don’t think I can anymore. This thing is just so so good. It actually makes me extremely excited for the other three wedges to arrive so I can pick and choose which ones I want. I wasn’t going to use this. As I said, I was going to take it out the bag, but I got it anyway. And it is absolutely incredible. As you can see, every single shot is pretty good. Even the bad ones. One there I hit like 3 in behind the ball and it still popped out pretty good. And this is a tall bunker. I absolutely love this thing. I’m so so impressed. Thanks for watching. Make sure you subscribe for the full set review. Cheers.
