Collin Morikawa is on DEMON TIME 👀🚨🗣️⛳️

Colin Morawa is cooking some up. Okay, he is either winning the open next week or he is MCing by a trillion. Let’s talk. Okay, do you remember the putters that he posted on his Instagram story last week? I was low-key tweaking over this one and for good reason. It’s a lot more unique than I initially realized. Obviously, it is a midslant design like I mentioned, but do you notice anything unique? How about when we compare it to the OG Spider Proto he had in the bag last week? There is a pretty decent size offset difference between these two putters. Now, I think this one has a full shaft. It’s just hard to tell because of the angle, but this new one has probably at least a quarter shaft of offset more. More offset usually closes face to path. So, this new one’s probably going to travel a little bit more shut. But if you thought that was the only difference I was going to notice, you forget who you’re following. As you can see, we ran some lines through the shaft axis, and this is showing us a pretty decent size towh hang difference as well. The new one is a lot closer to face balance and this old one has a decent amount of towh hang. As per usual, Golf WX killing it with the content. They had some videos of Colin putting in work with this new putter. So, I think there’s a decent chance it goes into play. And what makes this new one very significant to me is the fact that both of his major championship wins came with a TP Juno long neck, which has a very similar tohang profile. Oh, you thought that was going to be the only switch? No, no, no, no. Colin is also testing a new driving iron this week as well. And the model certainly seems to be this new tailor-made P UDI 1 iron which may or may not be coming out ahead of the open. I couldn’t tell you. And while I don’t have the greatest eyes on the planet, I want to say it is shafted with a graphite design to adi 105X. So this thing is a stinger machine. But that still isn’t the biggest change for Colin this week. He is now gaming a full set of tailormade P7 CB irons. Now normally he plays P730s in the 7iron through pitching wedge and then the CBS in the 45 and six. But if you remember, he also did this in route to winning the 2021 Open Championship as well. He swapped out his 730s and the short irons for a full set of P7MC’s because they had less bounce and thus they were better in the firmer turf conditions. Here’s how those soles stack up, by the way. P730, P7MC. I’m not exactly sure what he’s referring to, if it’s the width, the angle, or the amount of camber. He also put this strategy into play last year as well, playing a full set of the P7 CBS at the 2024 Open. Nonetheless, this is going to be a very intriguing story to follow with he actually ends up playing at the open. But I hope he figures it out. I’m kind of curious to hear what you guys are thinking about this.
