WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) – NC Stop Human Trafficking is holding its inaugural golf tournament to help raise awareness.

The Inaugural Fairway to Freedom Golf Tournament will be on August 16th at the Washington Yacht and Country Club at 7155 River Rd.

The golf tournament is set to benefit NC Stop Human Trafficking and help educate people about the seriousness of human trafficking. It will also help assist those victims and survivors of trafficking to start a new beginning.

This is a one-day, 18-hole event, consisting of 4-person teams. The cost is $300 per team.

NC Stop Human Trafficking looks to educate its community members, professionals, and service providers on the red flags of human trafficking and how to report/respond, and works across the state to support rural coalition development.

They also advocate on a state and federal level for stronger anti-human trafficking legislation.
