Carter Henning never imagined he would be playing in the John Deere Classic pro-am Zack Johnson and Dylan Frittelli.

And as of mid-February, the rising sophomore at Iowa’s Calamus-Wheatland High School was unsure if he would ever play any golf again.

Henning had his lower left leg amputated after an accident working on a snowmobile.

The multi-sport athlete had already made the varsity golf team, so within a month of the accident, he was out on the course learning how to swing with one leg.

Carter not only figured it out, he became the school’s top golfer.

And when the PGA Tour got word of his story, they invited Henning to play in their annual Iowa event, and had Callaway fit him with new clubs.

And by the way, Henning did not stop at golf. He also returned to baseball, pitching and hitting for the Warriors varsity team.

Carter Henny never imagined he would be playing in the John Deere Classic ProAm with Zack Johnson and Dylan Fatelli. And as of midFebruary, the rising sophomore at Iowa’s Calamus Wheatland High School was unsure if he would ever play any golf again. Henning had his lower left leg amputated after an accident working on a snowmobile. The multiport athlete had already made the varsity golf team, so within a month of the accident, he was out on the course learning how to swing with one leg. Carter not only figured it out, he became the school’s top golfer. And when the PGA Tour got word of his story, they invited Henning to play in their annual Iowa event and had Callaway fit him with new clubs. He missed a hole in one on the par 316th hole by 10 in. And by the way, Henning did not stop at golf. He also returned to baseball pitching and hitting for the Warriors varsity team.
