Color Moriawa has secured a high-profile caddy for the Open Championship at Royal Portrait. Veteran Bagman Billy Foster. The two-time major champion has been searching for a new caddy since parting ways with Joe Grainer ahead of last month’s Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. As confirmed by bunkered coua has enlisted the services of Foster for a short-term partnership spanning the upcoming Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club and the final major of the season across the Irish Sea. Foster, widely regarded as one of the most respected caddies in golf, boasts a storied resume that includes stints with legends such as Sevy Ballister, Darren Clark, and Lee Westwood. The 59-year-old Yorkman recently ended a six-year partnership with Matt Fitzpatrick in March, a split that followed a drop in form for the 2022 US Open champion. This new collaboration with Morawa is expected to last just 2 weeks as the world number five continues to evaluate options for a long-term caddy. It marks the latest chapter in what has been a summer of transition for the American star that I in April Morawa ended his longtime relationship with JJ Jacovic the only Caddy he’d worked with since turning professional that was followed by a brief run with Max’s former Caddyy Joe Grainer. But after just five events including missed opportunities at both the PGA Championship and the US Open, the duo went their separate ways. Just because two people are great at what they do doesn’t mean we’re going to be great together. Morawa said after parting with Grainer, “I think Joe is an amazing caddy, but the way we saw things or just how we operated day-to-day, we were a little bit out of sync.” Before heading to the UK, Morau tied for eighth at the Rocket Mortgage Classic with close friend and cornfairy tour player KK Limhasset temporarily carrying the B AS for Foster. The season looper had initially planned to reduce his workload in 2024 after more than 40 years on tour. Following his disappointing split with Fitzpatrick, he was expected to share caddy duties with Dan Parrot, but later hinted at a broader step back, citing the toll of constant travel across the Atlantic. While Foster has no intentions of returning to full-time caddying, this two-week stint with Morawa could offer a fresh spark for both parties. The American star is hoping to end his title drought. His last victory came at the 2023 Zozo Championship, and he’ll be counting on Fosters’s vast experience on the links to help him get back into the winner circle.
