Injuries to golfers are never a good thing and when it was confirmed that Billy Horschel would miss some time, it was a big worry for American golf fans everywhere.
Horschel is very much in the conversation to be part of Keegan Bradley’s Ryder Cup squad for Bethpage and he was playing well prior to having to step away from things.
With the Scottish Open this week and The Open to come afterwards, Horschel will have been desperate to get back into things given his love for the courses over in Europe and especially in Britain.
Those two events are going to come too soon for Horschel it seems but in a positive update on his progress, the man himself has given an update on his injury situation on social media.
Indeed, it’s safe to say things are looking up.

Anyone who watches golf knows that Billy Horschel very much plays for a love of the sport and competing and he’s definitely one of the sport’s good guys.
Seeing him out injured, then, has been a big shame but it looks like he’s on the right path now.
Over on Instagram, Horschel has given his own update – with a video included – and he is indeed back hitting golf balls already.
Clearly, Horschel is still some distance away from being able to go full tilt but the mere sign of him being out on a range hitting balls is a good sign.
Currently down in 27th place in the Team USA race for Bethpage rankings, this hiatus may have cost Horschel big time on that front.
However, if he can get back in business soon enough and post some good results between now and August’s end, he might well make a late push.
If not, you can bet your bottom dollar that Horschel will be one of the biggest cheerleaders that Team USA could hope for.
