The PohlCat Golf Course in Mt. Pleasant has long been a mid-Michigan gem dating back to its opening way back in 1992.

The par-72 course winds its way in and along the Chippewa River and offers beautiful scenic views all while playing as a demanding, yet fair, golf course.

From its immaculate fairways and greens to its fully-stocked pro shop and bar and grill to its massive driving range the Dan Pohl-designed course has long been one of the best courses in the country dating back to its inception.

Back in 1992, when it first opened, numerous sports celebrities and PGA professionals descended on Mt. Pleasant to help christen the course in its inaugural weeks. It was a great initial opening round for the PohlCat and Mt. Pleasant’s Dan Pohl.

Since then times have obviously changed, yet the PohlCat has remained a constant in that it’s still one of the best courses around.

In recent weeks the PohlCat has introduced a new technological feature known as Mustard Golf to its already impressive list of features.

Mustard Golf is an AI-powered golf-instruction application that offers golfers real-time feedback on their swing from PGA Tour professional Justin Rose and legendary golf coach Mark Blackburn.

All you have to do is download the Mustard Golf app to your phone and take a video of your swing. The Mustard Golf app offers swing analysis for uploaded videos and offers other features through subscription at $24.99 per month or $149.99 per year.

The PohlCat is one of the first golf courses in the United States to welcome in this new technology and promote it and is offering a one-week free-trial to the Mustard Golf app by downloading a QR code.

See the PohlCat for the QR code. The PohlCat will also provide interested golfers with a tri-pod to mount your phone on so you can video your swing on its practice course.

All you have to do is go hit a bucket of range balls or play a round.

Once downloaded it takes about one minute for the app to give you a swing analysis and offer up customized training plans and videos for improvement.  The app looks at swing points on your body from shoulders and knees to wrists and hips and gives you a swing score between one and 10.

It truth it’s an incredible new technology that needs to be seen to be understood and it’s right here in your backyard at the PohlCat.

Check it out.
