Can Chuck bring his A-game to Tahoe celebrity golf this week?
Charles Barkley, the prominent NBA TV analyst, media personality and NBA Hall of Famer, will try to finish in the top 65 in betting odds established by Caesars Sportsbook.
For each of the last four years, the Caesars Sportsbook proposition had Barkley pursuing a top 70 finish. Last year, Barkley rewarded his supporters with finished in 58th place.
This year, betting on Barkley to finish in the top 65 is plus-140 that he will (an implied 42% chance) and minus-175 that he won’t (an implied 63.6% chance).
Bettors who believe Barkley finish in the Top 65 will win $140 for each $100 wagered on the “yes” proposition. Those convinced that the former NBA Most Valuable Player will fail to place in the Top 65 would bet “no” and will risk $175 to win $100.
Barkley finished 76th in 2021, 74th in 2022, 81st in 2023 and 58th in 2024.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is the co-favorite, according to Caesars Sportsbook, to win. Curry won the ACC in 2023, the missed last year due to playing in the Summer Olympics.
Curry beat Mardy Fish in 2023, thanks to an 18-foot walk-off putt on No. 18. This year, Fish is co-favored with Curry at 2.4-to-1 (+240) atop the odds board. Newly retired NHL star Joe Pavelski is next on the list at 3-1 (+300), followed by former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and TV analyst Tony Romo at 4.5-to-1 (+450). Hall of Fame pitcher and TV analyst John Smoltz at 5.5-to-1 (+550).
Annika Sorenstam, the greatest player in the history of women’s golf, and former standout MLB pitcher Mark Mulder are both at 6.5-to-1 (+650).
Romo and Mulder have each won the tournament three times, Pavelski and Smoltz both have two runner-up finishes and Sorenstam has a second and a third.
Charles Barkley, the golfer with the longest odds, is listed at 7500-to-1 (+750000).
Among the other contenders are two active athletes who are stars in their respective sports. Austin Reaves, the Los Angeles Lakers guard, is 18-to-1 (+1800) after finishing 13th in his debut last year. Alex Caruso, the Oklahoma City Thunder guard now celebrating his second NBA Championship, is at 22-to-1 (+2200) as he plays the tournament for the first time.

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert is playing in the tournament for the first time and is listed at 500-1, (+500000). Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams are both listed at 1000-1 (+10000).
The odds are based on a $100 wager. For example, a $100 bet on Curry would win $240, a $100 bet on Aaron Rodgers would win $400 and a $100 bet on Charles Barkley would win $7,500. The bettor would also receive the $100 wager back.

The interactive game allows fans to draft their favorite celebrity golfers. Participants have until midnight on Thursday, July 10 to pick their starting team of five players from the 90 celebrities competing.
