This is Nike’s oldest and newest running shoe. Today, I’m going to run a 400 meter dash in each to see if a shoe packed with crazy tech actually makes a difference. I started my first run in Nike’s oldest shoe, the Waffle Easer. Fun fact, it was inspired by the waffles made by Bill Bowerman’s wife. No carbon plate, no fancy foam, just a simple sole and surprisingly decent comfort. To be honest, they felt pretty good on my feet. I could definitely feel the hard ground and the angle support was kind of missing, but the traction on the track was solid. I finished the 400 meter dash in a time of 156. Well, well, well, they don’t belong on the podium. Next up, the modern shoes packed with Nike’s most advanced tag. They felt lighter, bouncier, and way more expensive. But the real question is, are they actually faster? Well, the high-te performance was next level. I didn’t have to wait long to reach the finish line. Clocking a personal best of 143. These shoes are top tier. [Applause]
