michael Kim nearly misses tea time at Rocket Classic caddy saves the day michael Kim got off to a strong start at the 2025 Rocket Classic shooting a bogey-free 5 under 67 in the opening round but the smooth round almost didn’t happen thanks to a tea time mixup that left him scrambling after wrapping up Thursday’s round at Detroit Golf Club where he finished tied for 14th and five shots off the lead Kim revealed the near miss on X formerly Twitter happy with the start considering I started my warm-up 35 minutes before my tea time instead of my usual hour kim wrote “I misremembered my tea time and my caddy sent a text to make me realize.” His coach unaware of the scramble added some unintentional humor telling him “You look rushed this morning.” Despite the chaotic start Kim delivered five birdies and no bogeies in his round the 31-year-old has had a solid 2025 season missing just three cuts in 16 starts and notching six top 25 finishes including three TP 10s he’s also made the cut in all three majors this year with a T-27 at the Masters being his best showing so far
