Dumbest rule in golf. Should be top priority to change if you land in a divot some other dickhead didn’t replace or like this statistically impossible situation, just drop within a yard back.

Ground under repair?

This is why the rule is so stupid. If you hit it in the fairway it should just be preferred lie. I’m all for rewarding accuracy. The argument that it cha he’s the game too much is ridiculous because the game has changed so much in the last 30 years there’s no real comparison to the way it was before anyway.

Well if it’s a social round I would just take a free drop. Fairway isn’t supposed to look like that and nobody will suffer from a fair adjustment.

I always assume that whoever hits into me wants me to have their ball. So I pick it up, wave to say thanks, and then get on with my round.

So move it

This week I hit an absolutely perfect drive down the middle of a narrow fairway. It somehow bounced left into a no play zone hazard, mandatory drop.

Careful, that could be a flyer lie.

If the course isn’t in PGA shape I put myself in a place that it would be lol
Other day cheap local course all around green had the grass plugs from aerating I chipped to green it would’ve ran up nicely on green but got caught in the plugs. I’m not going to move it to the green but if it happens again I’m giving myself a stroke off

Honestly, what’s the ruling here? I know hitting into a divot, because that gets reposted here three times a week, but I’ve never seen hitting onto a beaver tail.
