I Played Every Free Golf Course in America

I found free golf courses in America and I’m going to play them all. Why? Um because it’s free golf. Oh, and my buddy Jeff said he wants to go on a golf trip, but also said I don’t want to spend any money. So, we hopped in the car and drove to our first free golf course in Alexandria, Louisiana. This is the Bringhurst Golf Course. There wasn’t much info on this place, although they do claim to be the oldest par three course in America, which is a bold claim, but hey, I’m not going to question it. I brought my friend Jeff with me here.
I’m unemployed for the next two weeks. So that means I’ve got the time to golf, but not the money. It’s totally free to play. So that that’s why we’re here, guys. We’re playing every free golf course in America. This is a city-owned municipal golf course. It’s about 739 yards. Since the golf course is free, we didn’t have to make a tea time or check in at the pro shop. Actually, there really isn’t a pro shop at all. Just a old house with a few used golf clubs and some pictures of the community. All they ask is that you sign this booklet so they can keep track of how many golfers play every day. While I was signing in, I started chatting with Robin and Richard who help run the place. Oh, also Toby, who’s the official golf course mascot? Jeff and I were about to tee off, so I asked him what I should expect from the course.
If you want your short game good, this is the place to play.
Small greens, small turtle back.
How much money do you think you guys have saved by playing golf here?
At least $200, $300 a week.
Yeah,
that’s a lot of money. Thanks for taking the time. Good to see y’all. Thanks for letting us play your course. The first hole here at Bringhurst is a 92 yd par three with a green sloping back to front and two round greenside bunkers.
All right, we ready?
Yeah. Doing this hole in one. Oh, four. Oh, a little fin piece. But that’s going to work, Jeff. That’s going to work. That’s going to work just fine, unfortunately.
Oh, a little long. Little long. Forgot to mention this entire video will be a competition between Jeff and I. We’ll be playing a match at each of the courses. Whoever wins two out of the three takes the cake and whoever loses has to clap when the plane lands on our final trip home. Now, let’s see what Jeff’s thinking about these greens. Dude, they look like they’re in great shape. They look kind of fast. Like, I’m scared. I’m not going to keep this on the green. That’s just That’s hands, brother.
Okay, the greens are not fast. I thought they were going to be speedier than that. [Music] Okay. Okay. Break right. Break right. Dude, I got the jitters right now.
Do you actually?
Yeah. That’s a great putt. That’s a great putt. Oh, Jeff.
Jeff and I are all tied up after the first hole. Hole number two is 124 yard par three, which makes it the longest on the course.
It’s like 90 something degrees right now, but the humidity in Louisiana just wasn’t prepared for. Also, I’m pretty sure I have like hyperhydrosis, so just sweating a ton. After both missing the green on hole number two, Jeff and I somehow managed to make par. Good stuff.
Hole number three was a little bit of a different story. It was a 51yd par three, but tell you what, it was a tough little guy.
Dude, how do you stop that on the green,
dude? I’m going flop shot here, Jeffrey. Spin. Oh, spin, brother. I had some sauce on it. Might have cut too early.
The phone was still on.
Maybe a little premature with the celebration. Ended up missing my birdie putt. I made a par. Jeff made a bogey. So now I’m one up in our match. Three holes in. Thought so far on the course.
Uh the course is in great shape. I haven’t hit a green yet. And I don’t mind it.
There was a train, guys. A kids train that came through.
Is this real life? And now the birdie train’s coming soon. Oh jeez. I hate myself.
Hole number four is a 99 yd par three. Oh, he sprayed it out to the right.
Oh no. Sorry.
Oh, did that go all the way to them?
It went all the way to the other green. I feel like that’s the other thing. We’re working with limited space here, so all the holes are very close together. T boxes and greens are very close. Sometimes you’re like hitting over top of other tea boxes while you’re playing. You just got to be on your A game to not kill anybody.
Oh, I pushed it too. Gosh,
good swing though.
What are we doing? 0 for four on hitting green.
Despite Jeff’s inability to hit the greens, he still made a par on this hole.
That’s well done, Jeff.
I can’t say the same for myself. And we’re back to all tied up. The next three holes were pretty much all the same. 80 yard par threes to a small turtle back green. Neither Jeff and I were playing well. This is hard-nosed deep south golf down here, brother. This is tough.
But despite being tough, the walk around the course was pretty nice. Mostly because of the trees. Something about big trees on a golf course that gets me fired up. You just don’t see trees like this in Dallas. This one by the clubhouse was definitely my favorite. Jeff and I were having such a blast playing the course. It was a challenge, but a fun challenge.
I’ve not hit a green. I mean, that’s 70 yards. I got to hit a green from 70 yards.
And it was free, so vibes were high. Also, we weren’t the only ones enjoying ourselves.
If I was in high school, I would be here every day and I might be playing in the Masters next year. So, incredible course. I suck, but it is what it is.
That’s a lot.
How much do you guys pay to play this course?
Free. Let’s go. Matches all square. Going into hole number eight. How are you feeling? Kept tired.
I actually am probably gonna regret doing this, but peep the
Bro, that’s just
peep how sweaty my butt is. Yeah, probably shouldn’t have worn gray shorts. Place has been sick so far. Really humid, really hot. Can’t control the weather.
Hole number eight is another 86 yd par three. Two holes left. All square. This is for all the marbles, ladies and gentlemen. Oh, Jeff. Oh, get left here. Dang. That’s a great shot there, Jeffrey. Great shot there, Jeff Nato. Oh, Jeff, get off the green. Oh, that’s all the way down, folks. Dude, I don’t know why I thought I had to hit it so hard up this hill,
guys. I ended up bogeying this hole.
No way. Wasn’t a pretty sight. And while I was putting the ball back and forth on the green, Jeff absolutely buries this one from 20 ft.
That’s for you, Josh. So clutch and puts himself two up in the match going into the final hole which basically gave me no chance. Jeff sealed the deal with a par in the last hole which means he won the first course. Yay Jeff. And while his spirits were high, he doesn’t know this yet. He’s got a very important task for this video. Your responsibility for this video is going to be ranking the best free golf courses in America. So right now Bringh is in first place because we’ve only played one course. But keep that in mind as we play more courses. The bar is surprisingly high right now, but I’m excited to see what’s next. Let’s go to the next course.
Jeff and I headed to the airport. But first, we made a pit stop for food. In the spirit of saving money, I asked Chat GBT what the best fast food value meals are. We’ll be eating a different one every day to crown our favorite.
Like just eat our food. That’s all I got for five bucks plus the drink. Good. I think that was a lot of food for five bucks.
Expectations were pretty low. They were met Tfold. McDonald’s off to a commanding lead, but no time for deliberation. We’ve got a flight to catch for our next free course in Emory, Virginia. We’re here on the campus of Emory and Henry University. This is Lynch Lynx. It’s a 1700yard 9-hole golf course. Again, this course was tough to find any real info on. Found one article and the guy who wrote it said he felt like he transported back in time. Not 100% sure what he meant by that.
Dude, I think I know what he meant. That h that house right there was built in 1770. It’s old. Um this place looks absolutely awesome. I’m very excited to tee it up and start playing.
I still can’t pronounce the mascot.
The Wasps.
The Let’s play another free course. Jeff,
come on. Let’s save some money. Hole number one is an uphill 380 yard par4 to an oval green surrounded by some trees.
Mats to hit off of which makes sense if it’s a free course. Probably a lot of play. Dude, are we just going right for it? I think just go right for it. I think that’s fairway. I think I’m under a tree. Oh, bro, that’s on the green.
Come on. Jeff won the first round, so I’ve got to win this one in order to force a third. It’s all business today, baby. In the fairway here, first impressions. The rough is really long grass and the fairway is just like kind of long grass. Great shot there, Jeffrey. [Music] Go ahead and go in. First impressions of the the greens here, Jeff.
Dude, they look immaculate. They’re soft and the grass isn’t like crazy short, but I think it looks super flat. There’s not a blade out of place. That that morning deal will get you. Yeah. Yeah. Oh,
you had the line, brother. That was in.
After one hole, Jeff and I are all square. Hole number two is another 380 yard par4 slight dog leg right with a tree directly next to the T- box. Another tree is strategically placed on the right side of the fairway. And there’s also a power line hanging over the middle of the fairway that could come into play on your second shot. [Music] It’s
a good swing. Oh, stay low. Oh, got through. Dude, in the fairway. Jeff and I both ended up paring this hole, so the match is all square. Both of us were playing pretty good golf, but we may have run into some other issues. Maybe our first mistake here. Uh there obviously there’s no like clubhouse, so there’s no scorecards. There’s no cart path either or like signs to tell you what hole is what. So, we’re having a little trouble with the routing right now. We’re trying to figure it out. There’s like there was one plaque that showed you where every hole was. We were so excited to get started, we just hopped on the first te and ripped. And now we don’t know where the second hole is. Oh, dude. Tell me the tea box is tucked back in there, please. Oh, let’s go, dude. [Music] This is definitely the coolest hole so far. I think in my mind, for sure. Oh, little fin. Oh, baby. Oh, bounce up. Oh, that barely got up.
Genuinely so surprised how nice this course is. Jeff and I were having a blast and both agreed there’s no way a free golf course could be any better than this. That was the game plan we drew up. We said on the last hole, just aim straight for the pin and hit it as hard as you can. Three holes in. Initial thoughts? just absolutely amazed that a college student could have access to a free course like this.
Biggest thing that stands out to me is the fun tea boxes. You can tell there was a decent amount of effort put into designing this course, which I think is a lot of fun. Even though it’s free and you could play it every day, you wouldn’t get bored.
Score update. Oh, yeah. Score update. Uh Jeff is currently one up right now. He just buried the last hole. Jeff’s playing good.
Playing well.
This is your Jeff. Jeff, play good.
Hole number four is a shorter par three with a tree directly in front of the green. Jeff parred this hole. I bogeied. Go figure. So, he’s now two up in our match, but not for long. Oh, go in, brother.
Just be the number. What? Be the number. Huh? Be the number. Jeff,
go in the hole. Let me join that Embry and Henry University wasps golf team. Give me their wasps.
He’s buzzing. Jeff,
I need this. I’m about to give up my lead. Oh man, that took a bad bounce right.
I dropped a birdie here. Jeff had a bogey, which makes this hole a twoshot swing. Ladies and gentlemen, we are now all tied up.
Little par4 here. Probably toughest hole so far. It looks like off the tea. We’ve got some some danger right, some danger left. Power lines right up the middle. Oh, four left.
I think it’s fine. Oh, it’s going to be okay, though.
Yeah, it’s going to be fine.
Hole number six was definitely one of the tougher holes on the course. Jeff and I both ended up in some thicker rough off the tea, and we both missed the green on our second shot, but it wasn’t all bad. Go in. Oh my word. Come on, Jeff. The tides have turned so good. Oh, hit him with the air. Let’s go. The match is all tied up as we go into the last three holes, which are a short walk across the parking lot and on another side of the campus. The new scenery had us all turned around and a little bit confused as to where the tea boxes were.
So, we we may have found an old tea box, but it doesn’t look like that’s been used in a while. That one’s actually from 1770. We have had a hard time finding the the tea boxes, but then again, we’re pretty stupid. This hole was kind of a doozy. Par three, straight uphill, blind shot, and you kind of have to draw it around these trees on the left. Oo, sounded real good.
No, I pushed it so far right. That is Was that short? Oh, draw a bit for me, huh?
Yeah, that’s Draw a bit for me. That
I think also maybe short.
Yeah, I think that was short, too. After a bogey from Jeff and a par from yours truly, I’m now one up heading into the last two holes. I
feel like totally different vibe on the last three holes here.
Hole number eight is another par three straight uphill about 129 yds. Ooh, that looks good. Oh, thinned it. Catch a piece. Catch a piece. Catch a piece. Don’t hit right. Don’t kick right. kick right. I feel like these are the these are the types of videos. These are the type of places. Just very grateful this is my job. Just out here with my buddy Jeff in Virginia.
Find myself thinking, man, I’m grateful that my friend does this for a job.
If you’re new here, my wife told me I can put up a golf simulator at 250,000 subscribers and we’re almost there. Par for Jeff and another bogey for me, which means we are all tied up heading into the final hole. A par three 100 yards straight downhill with a massive tree covering half the green.
This is crazy. That’s about as good as I can ask,
bro. That’s so good. Oh, catch a piece. All right. Okay, we’re putting. I’m going to have to hit this thing hard, though. Oh, bro.
Dude, I did not think that was going to break that way. Wow.
In for par.
All right, come on. I left it short, Josh.
Dude, a lot of water on these greens, though. All tied after regulation. We’re going playoff hole. We’re just going to play the same hole again. Coming downhill. It might be long. Oh, no. That look on Jeff’s face here is not only because he went long, but if you look closely at the green cam, he was about a foot away from forcing me to upgrade my phone. Dude, it’s way it’s on the other side of the hill.
Oh, actually you’re saying all I got to do is put one on the green and two putt.
I’m going to get up and down. Oh, get through those trees. Oh, baby. Now we’re good.
We’re good.
We’re good. It’s not over yet. That’s really good, Jeff. I’ll take it. Let’s close this out here. Jeff Nato, I’ve been making putts. Oh no. Oh my. What? How’d that go? Our overall match is all square. It’s all going to come down to tomorrow when we’re at our final course. But now it’s time for official Jeff free course ranking. Which one of the two we’ve played do you like more?
We pulled out Driver out here. There’s a couple par fours. I’m going to give it to Emry and Henry right now. Truthfully, I find it hard to believe that a course is a free course is going to be better than this experience right here.
Two courses down, one more to go. Let’s go to another course, Jeff.
Jeff and I hopped in the car and headed to the airport, but we made a quick stop on the way to try another value meal. Wendy’s biggie bag. $6 for a burger, fries, nuggets, and a drink. I got a frosting instead of a drink. No charging. So, the burger is pretty much on par with McDonald’s. Nuggets are better. Fries are a little bit worse with the frosty as the X factor. Wendy’s top spot right now.
Dude, I agree. I think it’s top spot. Glad Jeff and I could agree. We hopped on our flight and headed to our next course in Sharon, Pennsylvania. We’re here at Bule Park Golf Course. This place is pretty sweet. It’s got a driving range. It’s got simulators. It’s got a putt view system. It’s got a full clubhouse with a pro shop. This course is 2900 yards. We got some par threes, par fours, and a par five, baby. This will be the first par five we’ve played so far in this video. Let’s go. Fun fact, this place is nicknamed Dum Dum. I’m not 100% sure why at the moment, but I think we’re going to find out today. 3 2 1. Let’s do it.
Dude, you always catch me out. Like, I don’t know what you’re counting down.
No tea times here at Be Park. You just walk up to the putting green, stand in line, and wait to head to the first te. While we were at the practice putting green, we ran into some locals and figured we’d get the inside scoop on Val Park.
Who am I here with? Luca.
Adam.
Liam.
Adam. What should I expect from the course?
Have fun. And um just have fun,
dude. Have fun. I love that. That That is what this place is all about. Hole number one is 175 yard par three. And a good looking one at that. I mean, come on. Look how pristine this course looks.
M first impressions here, Jeff. Dude, it’s beautiful. It’s packed out here, which I love fact that it’s so nice and so many people are coming and playing.
Ready when you are, Jeffrey. All right. [Music] Oh, hang on. Hang on, brother.
Two pars on the first hole, which makes the match all square. Just some quick info on the course. It’s free because it was gifted to the community by local industrialist Frank Buell in 1908. And in the bylaws of the trusty setup, the course has to be free for the rest of time. I’d say that’s a pretty good deal.
This is nicer than anything I could pay money to play. So
that’s a dude.
Let’s go.
Not bad. Hole number two is a 390 yard blind shot par4 with an elevated green. Oh, there’s a tow hook. Oh, Jeff. That’s going to be right.
Jeff and I both found ourselves in tricky spots off the tea. And yet somehow we were both able to get up and down for par after missing the green. Dude, that’s so good. Come on, Jeff. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. This is high quality golf, baby.
Hole number three is a short par4 downhill about 260 yards. Oh, that is so far right. Oh, join me.
Yeah, a little right. That’s coming back.
That wind’s holding up. Go. Oh, that was so close.
Tough little green here. Go.
That’s That’s pretty good.
Pars for both of us. And before we knew it, we were three holes in.
Jeff thoughts so far on the course,
dude. It’s nice. I’m not going to lie. I’m not going to give the crown here just yet, but I’m impressed.
We should be paying for this. This feels wrong. Oh, also the match is tied up right now.
To say Jeff and I were having a blast playing this course would be a major understatement. The weather beautiful course beautiful golf. Oh no. A little zoom in action. Get out. Go. Get close.
That’s nice. Oh yeah.
Believe it or not, Jeff and I both ended up parring this hole, which leaves the match all square. Heading into the first par five of the video. Hole number five, par five. The only par five on the course. It’s 490 yards. Feel like this hole really legitimizes this course. Parinko, baby. Longest testing goal. Parinko. Oh, baby. Dude, that’s
that’s what he wanted. Hydraw. High draw. High draw. High draw. High draw. Oh, low cut drawing at all.
It almost felt weird having longer than 150 yards on our second shot. We just hadn’t experienced that up to this point. We got there two very different ways, but Jeff and I both ended up parring the par five.
That is so good, dude.
That’s a low stress par.
Jeff’s low stress par leaves the match all square, heading into a short par4 and arguably the coolest hole on the course. Oh, that’s going to be on the green. That’s going to be on the green,
dude. I got a good feeling about this one. Do you That’s what I mean.
Yeah,
dude. That is so good,
dude. There’s a there’s a chance that
there’s a chance that’s in the hole, guys. My ball didn’t go in the hole.
I made a birdie on this hole. Jeff made a par. I’m now one up in our match. Which tree do you think was better? the tree in the middle of the last fairway or the tree at the first T- box in Louisiana.
Dude, Louisiana had some good ones, but I bet that’s in the middle of the fairway just by itself. And I think that’s pretty cool.
Next three holes are a little bit different. These guys, as you can see here, treeline fairways. You got to be accurate with the T- shots. Start the intense music. Draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw. Oh my word, bro. Starting to get hot out here. But I will say this rowback is comfortable.
What should the people do if they’re thinking about potentially ordering some rowback?
Guys, I’ll be honest. I don’t know all the logistics. I will say this is very comfy. It’s hot out here, but I feel pretty cool and I’m stylish. You know, I got a compliment on this when I walked into the pro shop. Oh yeah.
This is where things went extremely downhill for me. I missed a bogey putt on hole seven. Oh folks. Oh folks. Oh, Jeff.
Folks, we’re here to play. Walking in. Hey, that’s good. You can pick that up. Walking into number eight, all tied. That mis putt ended up tying the match heading into the last two holes. Then on hole eight, I choked again with another bogey, putting Jeff one up, heading into the final hole.
Some unfortunate blunders there led to Jeff making a par. I made a bogey. He’s now one up heading into the final hole. All he had to do was hit the green and two putt, which he did pretty easily. So, Jeff is your official champion, but where does Bule Park rank on Jeff’s official free course rankings?
Yeah, this one’s tough. Uh, I don’t want to put any course down that’s free. But Josh, I mean, come on, man. This place is special.
Got to give it to Dum Dum. Uh,
Fuel Park secured the top spot. Jeff and I hit Taco Bell on the way to the airport and both agreed Wendy’s still has the best value meal. And I lost our match. So, there was only one thing left to do. with your seat belt securely fastened until the captain reaches the gate holder and turn off and pass the seat belt sign.

  1. Play free golf, except you probably spent at least $500 in travel and food. Might as well buy a golf trip package lol.

  2. Im from and live in Louisiana and had no idea. I believe you suffered a case of what we call here in Louisiana "Swamp Ass". No cure for it, if you want to play golf this time of year in Louisiana, you just have to suffer through it and use plenty of Gold Bond powder. 😂 next time I'm down in Alexandria, I'll have to check it out. Great video!

  3. I play bringhurst every weekend and it’s a tough course. Love it though. I’ve hit a hole in one on 9 and 3. Hole 5 is by far the toughest
