New Balance FuelCell SuperComp MDX v3 First Look | Paris Olympics 2024 Track Spikes

[Music] how’s it going guys I’m Conor from running warehouse and today I’m here with Chris from New Balance and we are going to be taking a look at the New Balance MDX V3 this is the latest and greatest mid distance Spike from New Balance we’re seeing it on the feet of top Pros on the mid-distance side and even on athletes like Sydney mcclaflin in the hurdles a very responsive fast and versatile Spike tell us what’s new with this yeah Connor this is honestly the most decorated Spike that we’ve ever built at the brand it already has multiple world records behind it World titles and you said it it’s a really flexible spike in terms of the distance it’s built to be a middle distance Spike so that kind of 800 to 3K slot but it truthfully our athletes have really gravitated towards it and are using it from everything upwards of 3K you mentioned Sydney in the hurdles femab down in the hurdles so for this update we really have that 100% pea mid with our bottom loaded carbon fiber plate um really to optimize that propulsion and really give the racers a Snappy ground feel but have as much energy return going back to the runner now when we look at the early versions of the MDX it used a different fuel cell compound the Pea now is going to give a huge upgrade in responsiveness and we now have a slightly different stack height this is going to be at 20 Ms so right in that world Athletics limit Yep this will be World Athletics legal Spike so no no issues there for anyone looking to set some World Records now when we look at those earlier versions We also see uh one other change the outsole can you tell us about this yep so uh the shoe nerd in me is very excited by this update but our Innovation team did a fantastic job our athletes are currently in a fixed pin outo so we have those titanium tips and that’s what’s been in the market in previous mdxs um those tips will not wear down but we really wanted to give uh especially high school kids that option to take their pins out so we have a coal molded um removable pinst system in the new MDX V3 which will be hitting market for so that way anyone can take out their pins change them but they’ll still have all the benefits of 100% carbon fiber on the bottom with the paa mitle yeah I feel like I heard about that a lot athletes just want more options sometimes high school track meets need a certain pin length so this just gives more options for athletes to wear on race day one last thing I want to talk about on the out so is that exposed carbon plate design we’ve seen this in past versions obviously a very unique design can you tell us about the benefits of that and why you’ve continued that with version 3 yeah the bottom loaded carbon fiber plate is a distinctly new Balan feature and we’re really proud of it all our testing going back to 5280 even has proven that the bottom loaded carbon fiber plate allows us multiple benefits in terms of both the traction and the stiffening elements that we’re able to build into the shoe so keeping the package as lightweight as possible while providing that stiffening agent is going to just provide that better racing experience experience for the athlete now moving on up to the upper can you tell us about the changes here yeah so we’re using a single layer lightweight engineered material that is just very breathable we actually engineered the upper to have a built-in tongue so again minimizing any irritations that the athlete could possibly have up in that kind of you throat area that you’re looking just again a lot of athletes are wearing uh no socks when they’re racing so just want to make this as seamless and as Second Skin as close as possible to the foot so there you have it that was the New Balance fuel cell MD X from top to bottom going to continue to be that Elite level mid distance bike with some room to go up and down because of those efficiencies for people looking to get this sh on their feet when can they have it it’s going to be available this upcoming fall 2024 here you go if you’re looking to get the MDX V3 on your own feet you can find it here at running Warehouse [Music]

  1. There so many options 😢 it used to be just get the dragonfly, but now I have to decide between the dragonfly elite, cloudspike citius, adizero ambition, and now this 😭

Edit: I got the victory 2 for the 1600m

  2. is this version significantly heavier than the version used by highschoolers last year? Considering getting this but wondering wether it's truly the same shoe we saw breaking highschool and Olympic records the last few months, despite all the updates?
