gents. Hey, guys, there’s a
change in the air. Two changes,
two changes. real quick Harold Fannin Robbie
Oates I think would be more of a
fullback type. Right. We’re taking a look at Jack at Haws.
Another great blocker. But I go
back to Fannin Oronde Gadsden past season. They are well
represented here. I don’t know,
there’s been a 2008. 466 came close. Here we go. He I think he
gave a nod of approval as he
finished. Right there. Yeah. Well deserved. Round of
applause. Thank you. Appreciate.
Are they backing up a truck? you could have an opportunity to
take your shot on. But most
teams when you’re picking up there you’re chasing ceiling at
quarterback. You want guys
especially in the AFC conference with all of these quarterbacks,
elite top end quarterbacks. If
you don’t feel like you’re drafting an elite one, then take
another need and then you can
circle back. The next year. The Nick Berman nickname for Robbie
Utz? Robbie utz there it is.
There it is. Robbie on the Utz. Cat on a hot tin. Utz. I don’t
know, Gavin Bartholomew. Thanks.
All right. Got some Pitt fans here. He’s got a little hockey
hair going. Nice. Work. That’s a
good number for him. They use when he had a chance in the bowl
game and that stage for him only
to have 17 catches for 213 yards and a touchdown was a little
disappointing. Case in point
from both of you right there. We saw two Ferguson of Oregon run.
And now it’s Thomas Vidoni of
Nebraska. He’s now run the year. This is a fun one. Here.
He is ultra, ultra productive
and big plays against A&M Penn State. He he’s got I’m telling
you I’ve labeled him as like my
mini gates. He’s got like a little mini Antonio Gates to him
quite as big. But he’s got that
kind of little subtle movement. Just knows how to play. Speaking
of gates, Fannin, who runs a
4.73, was born where gates is winding up this summer. Canton,
Ohio. Yes, sir. By the way, that
was ridiculous that he was not a first, I don’t know. No, you’re
you’re not wrong. Come on. So
the Bowling Green tight end, 473. Stacy. Yeah. DJ by
production, do you mean eight
games with over 100 receiving yards? Probably. Wouldn’t that
tie for the national lead with
Travis Hunter, a certain wide receiver slash defensive back?
This guy is really special at
Bowling Green. You know it’s offseason, and that’s going to
be part of our conversation all
day tomorrow. Is what are the Giants do at three? Do they go
free? Agent. Veteran rookie?
What do they do both for seven seven for the former Sun Devil
transfer to Texas Tech, there’s
Brian Schottenheimer. Back as guys. His best football is still
ahead of him. He had an ACL in
23. 474. Respectable time here. You know Notre Dame has sent
some terrific tight ends to the
next level Iowa is another one. Stanford used to be one. For a
long time. He had tight ends
coming into the league every ran 4.61. So it’s a that’s a
fast number to chase here.
Clemson’s Jake Briningstool. A little Micah six to him reminded
me of him. Flexed out receiver
six five and change 475. Here comes Jalen Conyers. Jaylen
Conyers got a ton of production.
He can really came through Craig Stevens from
the 2008 draft. Yeah yeah. My
god talk about a deep cut. You two good. He he was right in
there with the Texas tight end
that played forever. That blocked the heck out of people.
Another possible Titans entirely
possible. Chip Kelly recruited this guy to UCLA. Get another
opportunity to get him. Why not
go winning. He’s winning. Right.
That’s real. Official 40s.
Terrance Ferguson with A463. Simon came close. Man. He came
close three sub 4740 and two at
47. Right on the dot for the tight ends group. There you go.
Mason Taylor is out there.
Didn’t run the 40s but he is is a great joy. And you learn
about adopting a teen at Adopt
Us Kids org. All right, it’s time for Next Gen Stats powered
by AWS. Let’s look at some
production scores here. We’ve seen the physical testing, the
athletic testing on the field.
But how about the production yards catches touchdowns that
gets compiled into this rating.
You see Tyler Warren right up there at the very top followed
by Harold Fannin Junior. All
these guys very productive on the football field. You can find
more real time combine results
and in-depth analysis featuring next gen stats in the new
combine IQ dashboard exclusively
on NFL.com. Excellent read. You nailed it. Thank you sir.
Absolutely nailed it. Those are Jalen Conyers Oh no we got
three. That is burning stool.
Let it go. Let’s see what we got. Now look for it. They want
it over his outside shoulder. So
it’s going to take a minute here for these quarterbacks to figure
out exactly how they want this
ball to be thrown. There you go. Try not to fade. Want it to
travel. They want it to travel
over his outside hand here. Three up. C.J will get another
one one. Charles you got a pep
talk down there. Yeah. Throw it over the outside part of the I
mean, that’s what they’ve been
asking for. It’s not exactly Newt Rockne over there. I mean,
come on. Listen, sometimes you
see something better, Charles. Sometimes you got to get to the
point, Rick. Because Rob, Boris
told them, if you don’t get a good ball, we’ll have to run
through you again. I think I’ve
heard him say three times already, you’ll get another one.
So you’re going to be doing the
same drill multiple times. Hopefully the quarterbacks be
able to adjust and get it there.
A little more error. There’s Ferguson, who ran the fastest 40
of the group. Stacy yeah, just a
little more on Mason Taylor out of LSU. Now one thing DJ you
love about him are his hands.
Well, I spoke with him this week and through high school. He
actually had a Jugs machine at
his house in his garage. He was a Covid kid right? So before he
goes to LSU, he asked his mom,
can we convert the garage to a gym? And that’s exactly what
they did. So all the high school
kids went over to their place, worked on the Jugs machine, and
he developed a nickname, guys
EMTs lab. That’s Mason Taylor’s lab. He became the trainer and
kind of worked everybody out.
But DJ, he has great hands, obviously. The son of Jason
Taylor, the Hall of Fame NFL,
and Zac Taylor, his uncle, and some of the best advice that
they gave him, or at least his
dad did. Every opportunity is an open door. No shortcuts to this
game of football. Remember both
of those guys, those Hall of Famers were under recruited out
of high school and even heading
into the NFL, and they became Hall of Famers, so some good
footsteps to follow, no doubt.
Mo get another one. There’s another one of another one outs.
Good Bryson get another one
okay. Boy. I mean Boris has given out more throws than Oprah
gives away cars. Charles, you
got to get it over the outside shoulder. We just got to get it
up and out there. You get
another throw and you get one. Perfect. There we go. Okay, here
we go. Mason Taylor’s out there.
See if Matt Corral can get into a groove here. I bet he can.
Here we go now. We’re now. Well,
it’s all right. We get it out of the outside a little bit, but
that’s all right. The big deal
is not to have the fading. They want to be able to go up that
line there. Three. Top. And
we’re done. Oh good. We’re good. Nesbitt. Yep. Guys let’s talk
more about Mason Taylor, sir.
Yeah I’m Fred because they tried to lift
Fred. Yeah. So here’s the
blocking explosion. We even are showing the lift in the graphic
right there. That was pretty
slick. That is that’s it. That’s was that the Fred the Sled theme
song that we played just for
that graphic. Right. There’s Mason Taylor. There you go. You
drive it longer than that. Okay.
Who’s the one? Who was it? Tip Reiman oh. Now tip Ryan was it
Darnell Washington who did it.
Oh yeah. From from Georgia. Yeah. But but tip Reiman flat
backed it so well last year.
Tremendous. Getting right good threes on deck over degrees over
here on deck okay. What are we
listening to right now Charles. All right. You really don’t want
me to get their DJ. Get your
orders. Right. All right. I’ve really struggled with the music
selections. Everything’s in
evaluation at the combine. When I say it is what it is. Lunda
Wells, the Dallas Cowboys staff.
All right, all right. Massive turnover there as we all know.
Here we go. Look at that Solomon
puts his face in there. Nicely done. Great stance great stance
great stance. Lead footwork
great leverage. Tip jar. Yeah. School is not going to be as
quite as comfortable there. Nice
job there. But he’s more flexed out. Seam runner getting
underneath that chest plate. You
see it’s going to be the Georgia Tech kid that crushes. This is
going to I’m going to have fun
watching Haws. I think he’ll do very well here. And Conyers has
the frame for it CJ here we go.
He should be a guy that’s be proficient at it. I love how it
takes one guy to shove it
forward in three to put it back right. He did a nice job. Nicely
done. He plays in line so he
plays hand on the ground. He’s comfortable there. Hit. Job by
Mitchell Evans. Oh yeah that’s a
that’s a Notre Dame thing there. Slight lift on the sled. This is
I mean this will be a little bit
out of his wheelhouse. Right. Yeah. Taking a turn. Yeah. He he
just went on a wheel route with
that plate. Right. Lift on it accelerates your feet Ferguson
gets hurt. He got better. He’s
gotten better at this throughout his career. He’s having a good
day. Ran well. Great stance
great leverage. Accelerate your feet on contact. Hit. Great.
Good plays in line as well. He’s
another one who’s got that in-line hand down experience.
Nah. Come on, Gatson Drive
another son of a player. Good job. Right there, remember?
Okay, now here we go. Celebrate
your feet. All right. Gotta clear a little space down here.
There you go. Accelerate your
feet. Right. Accelerate your feet. All right, look out, Fred,
here comes his arm. Lengths away
in the neutral zone. All right, hold on. We’re not ready. Just
the Rocky music. Yes, yes, for
you. This is all your requests coming at one time. Let’s go!
Hit it! Jackson! Hit it! There
you go. He just needed a he needed a log on his back and
some snow, and he would have
been fine. Yeah, he should have just shotgunned some raw eggs
first. Right. He’ll climb the
mountain later and yell a certain name. Hey. Calmly slips
away. All right, great stance,
great leverage. Look at the guys returning the sled. Represent
the KGB agents that are
following him. Yeah, possibly. Well, you remember they. They
lost him. Remember? He he lost
him, all right? They couldn’t keep up. Right. What are we
listening to again here? This is
a this is from Rocky four. Yeah, but yeah, this is the montage.
You see Drago running in circles
and punching the bag as he’s getting all roided up. I will
break you. Break his back? Yeah.
Great stance, great stance. Champ. Champ. Here we go. Oh,
Robbie. Boots right away. Here
we go. Did not get inspired by this music. Come on Bobby, push,
push. Nice. Great stance stupid
great stance. Great. Leverage your feet on contact ten. D.J,
if you start screaming, no pain,
no pain. I was nicely done there. All right, here’s Mason
Taylor now. Joe Mason who? Nice.
Charles. Charles. What’s he doing? What’s he doing? He’s
winning. He’s winning. Right.
That’s real. Official 40s. can’t make up like. That’s
awesome. One of the hogs sending
his sono the pros here. And so the gantlet drill. I guess we’re
going to run it with Sam
Laporta. Speaking of Iowa tight ends. Yeah. Iowa tight end who
is just with that group, that
collection they’ve added over the last several years with
Jahmyr Gibbs and Jamison
Williams, Sam Laporta to complement what they already had
in Amon-ra Saint Brown. It’s the
explosive element and he does it with such grace and ease. Here
he is in the Gantlet drill.
Natural. Easy. Look at how smooth he is and all his
movements. Able to locate the
football. Extend. Catch it away from your body. The catch
radius, the adjustment this
gantlet what I love about it. Not every ball is going to be
perfect right on your front
shoulder. Can you adjust and make those different style of
catches? Now we’re going the
other direction. Get your head on the field. Now you can wear
it everywhere. You shop now at
nflshop.com. A Gantlet drill now being run by the tight end
group. Here’s Foden of Nebraska.
Nice job LB lost one there. Don’t want to get going too
early on that last one. You got
to stay down the line. But he’s got a big catch radius. Go.
Gadsden should be pretty
comfortable here. I just didn’t finish the last one. See that
was a good run till the very
end. There it was right down the line. And as you noted, very,
very comfortable with it. Have a
feeling he’s caught a few balls along the way. Got to get a
little training in at home.
Nice. Nicely done by. Yeah I was glad he ran much faster that
second time. He’s not. By the
way, he did not run a 40. But let’s check him out here in
Iowa. Tight end trying to make
it in the NFL. That is a story as old as time. He’s talking
about good genes. You know you
would think he’d have some good blocking in him wouldn’t you.
Yeah yeah. No kidding. His dad
Jim. All-American at Ohio State now calls the Buckeye games on
the radio a first round pick of
the Chargers, 12th overall. Yeah, multiple Pro Bowl. So
Alicia was in this building. Oh,
here we go. Stacy. Yeah, rich, somebody asked Luke this week if
he’s put on the tape of his dad,
the All-Pro. As you guys just mentioned, Jim Lachey, the great
Super Bowl champion. And, you
know, it was interesting. He said he tried to, but he just it
was a struggle because of the
VHS, VHS tape. And I really thought you guys could relate in
the booth. Hell, I can relate to
the VHS. Yeah, right. Nice. But Stacy, your tape is timeless.
Nice. Thank you Charles. Thank
you D.J. Thank you Rich. Yes. I mean, it’s kind of interesting
here that we’re talking about
how Tyler Warren wears John Riggins number, and Jim Lachey’s
son is in the same combine
group. There we go. Trying to make the NFL just like stuff you
can’t make up like. That’s
awesome. One of the hogs sending his sono the pros here. And so rejected, never rejected. But I
am, I am, I am somebody.
Special. Back here for the final drills of the night, for the
first group of offensive players
to get out here, the defense finished up with the corners and
safeties. The front seven was
last night. What I’m saying tomorrow is the quarterbacks,
running backs and wide
receivers. Biggest day at the combine. It starts at one
eastern time. Same start time
with the Sunday finale with the offensive line group, as Luke
Laschet of Iowa takes that one
working our way. Good to dinner time here in Indianapolis. Yeah,
I think we’re about there. I’ll
tell you what. Mason Taylor did not run the 40, but his field
workout has been excellent.
Robert. Good, Robbie. Good finish. I like what I’ve seen
from Joshua Simon as well. Nice.
Everything just looks so easy. It’s just natural, smooth fluid. all day. Yeah he’s caught a few
of these. Yeah quite a few.
Okay. Oh almost one handed that one man. This is where
Briningstool should be
comfortable. That’s it. There it is. Now tuck that ball away
Charles are you fan of the new
hoodie look that we’ve got this year. Well that hoodie look I
think our, our former colleague
James Jones. Yeah yeah. Wearing the hoodie and that kind of
brought it into vogue for a
little while and guys really like it. See Andrew Whitworth
rocking one on Thursday nights
when he’s doing the studio work. And no one rocks it better than
Andrew. But a lot of guys like
it. They like that little flow behind him. Ferguson. He’s had a
really nice day. Look out. Way
to go DJ. Yeah, I just put the Ziggy on him. Kingston. The
dome. He’s had a nice day. See
that’s how it works. There you go. Post to post it. Then you do
it. Little post praise Rodriguez
in the second DJ you can see. You can see like you’re talking
about Fanning and the ability to
create, move and make those cats. I think Gadsden in the
second is the same way. And I
listen to your radio broadcasts. How often before Dicker the
Kicker kicks it, you go, this
should work. Never. Right I could he doesn’t miss. Yeah,
well, but you you shouldn’t and
you don’t know. Then he makes Pro Bowls. Well, first of all,
money would yell at me for
stepping all over his car. Yeah, yeah, that would get ugly for
you. Here we go. Nice. Job
getting that one out in front. A little cut in for us here. Let’s
see. Nice. How about how strong
his hands are? Man snatched it. See, that’s what you want.
Because he’s going to be like a
lead fullback. And you want him to be an active option in the
pass game that you can dump it
to. By the way, his ability to make plays here, after doing a
three hour show with Pat earlier
today. Nice is impressive. Look at you Mason Taylor. Smooth as
can be. Does that mean he’s
going to the Patriots though Boston Oats. I always thought DJ
enrich is a blocker and a pass
catcher. Tom Rathman quarterback. And the scouts love
it too. I mean we’re all here in
Indy, right? We all got our stopwatches and our pens and our
notebooks. Might as well use
them and maybe even save a trip on the on the pro day. At least
right now. Going the other way.
Great ball game, sir. Nice grab. What? You see. I mean, I’m
wondering if listening to Mr.
Brightside, if Colston Loveland is just missing the action here.
There you go. You know. You see
it. You know, I went to my first game this year at the big house.
Are you serious? All these years
of scouting, I’ve been on school visits. Which one did you see?
Unfortunately, it was Oregon.
They got the terrible. Yeah, but it was a great atmosphere. I
loved it, it was great. They
were still a lot of smiles from the year before. It didn’t
matter. Team 144 shines bright,
sir. I also spent way too much money at the gift shop. What are
they doing there, Rich? Is that
for nil? Oh, somebody’s got to pay for the quarterback. Yeah,
exactly. That’s. That’s.
Sweatshirts. Got to do more than keep me warm for that price.
Jackson Haws. There we go. Is
that. How about the rebounds for Gunnar Helm rich when you look
at that first 40 I think it was
4.95. And then much faster on the second one the 10th of the
second. He had a good field
workout. Not. Really. Son. Oh. Good job good cooking. Now the
pace has picked up has it. Not
as opposed to the first drill right where they were not on the
same page. But now it’s cooking.
Yeah there’s some tight end coaches with dinner plans I
think. Yeah that’s funny. Same
with announcers. I think keep that tight. I like Mason Taylor
from a scouting standpoint. I
like guys that were either bright shoes or bright gloves. I
don’t even have to see the
number. I know who it is except on game day, because you always
think it’s a flag on the field.
Well, yeah, that drives me a little nuts. That’s there’s
that. All right, let’s take a
break. And we are nearing the gents. Hey, guys, there’s a
change in the air. Two changes,
two changes.

  1. The NIL is going to destroy football in years to come.. nowadays you have players changing/transferring to schools for that bag and not for the love of the game…now you have have NFL prospects choosing not to participate at the COMBINE which is silly coz they expect their NIL value determine their Draft -Stock.

  2. CALEB WILLIAMS
    TRAVIS HUNTER
    SHEDUER SANDERS

THESE GUYS FEEL ENTITLED and have literally lit up this hellfire!…how on earth can all first round picks forgo the combine but conduct the press conferences as if he's a Coach or GM🤷🏿‍♂️ …. UNPROFESSIONAL FUTURE PRO-ATHLETES

  3. Has to be the worst group of TEs I've seen in a while. Wtf was the Alabama TE doing on that first rep? 😂. He needs to move to Center

  4. My TE wishlist for the Broncos:

    Tyler Warren
    Colston Loveland
    Mason Taylor
    Terrance Ferguson
Gunnar Helm – Bro competed on a sprained ankle the entire combine. Super tough.
    Joshua Simon
    Harold Fannin Jr.
    Orande Gadsen
Thomas Fidone looks like a sleeper.

  5. This TE class just keeps looking better and better and deeper and deeper the more I watch all these prospects and terrance ferggouson is really undderated he is gonna be a really good pro TE but mason taylor is getting way over hyped he is getting 2nd round grades and im seeing a 5th or 6th round TE when I watch his film elijah arroya and terrance ferrgouson are both gonna be really good
