“It’s just me working myself into a headspace where I do feel like I can start to be creative again,” Davis said. “I think I haven’t been in a place where I felt the creativity coming out of me because I’ve been trying so hard not to make mistakes. It’s kind of a nice combination of timing and golf course for me because I’m just starting to feel like I was working myself into a place where I could start getting some sparks and magic back into the golf.”
Three weeks ago, Davis began a hypnotherapy course after he realized he was sinking into what he described as being in a poor mental headspace through the first six months of 2024. His golf game reflected the turmoil with four missed cuts and a highest finish of tied for 12th at the Masters in 16 tournaments before the Rocket.
“(I’m) just trying to take a different approach to try to get my head back into the right place,” Davis said. “I honestly haven’t been in a good place mentally over the last six months or so. I felt like all of my opportunities and things slipping out of my hands as the year progressed so I felt like a change of direction was definitely needed — something that I would actually stick to because I am definitely someone that will start doing something and if it doesn’t feel like it’s helping straight away, it’s very easy to drop it.

watched his colleague experience his own crushing disappointment to the gasp of a large crowd

number one but picked up three birdies by number seven to move to 18 under and tied with body

his three-wood approach landing on on the edge of the green before rolling back into the pond
finishing with the bogy to fall a shot back he remained right on bia’s Heels entering the final
two holes making an up and down Birdie on the P 517 then a p in a similar Fashion on number 18 to
head to the club house at 18 under unaware of the luck or despair for B that was about to occur it’s
a very tough situation to be in for him and for someone to be the benefactor that is a bit of a
weird situation to be in Davis said but at the the same time there’s so much relief because it’s been
a long time since I’ve been on top so I am going to make sure I stay enjoying it and appreciating

time but Davis finally found a breakthrough after making progress internally first he said the focus
on his mental health through hypnotherapy has helped shed the mindset of only worrying about
mistakes opening his game on the course which helped him shape shots to navigate the tree Laden
course at Detroit Golf Club it’s just me working myself into a head space where I do feel like
I can start to be creative again Davis said I think I haven’t been in a place where I felt
