It’s the only Asian Tour event this year that is being played in his continent, and Zimbabwean Scott Vincent is making sure he has plenty of say in how the International Series Morocco leaderboard shapes up during the weekend.
Vincent closed with a disappointing three-putt bogey on his final hole on Friday at the par-73 Royal Golf of Dar Es Salam course, but he had done enough good work before that to shoot a seven-under par 66 and jump to the top of the leaderboard at nine-under 137.
Australian Maverick Antcliff was two shots behind Vincent at seven-under after a round of 70, as defending champion Ben Campbell made a determined move with a 68 and was tied at 141 total alongside John Lyras (71) of Australia and Charlie Lindh (69) of Sweden.
Vincent started from the 10th tee, and continued his fine run of form that has seen him finish inside the top-12 in seven of his 10 worldwide starts this year.
So, as I said, good scoring early yesterday and the same again today. Samson Zen this at the eighth of our five. His fourth shot in for Murdy. Third birdie of the day, but he also had three bogeies. A par 73 and he’s on three under. Ben Campbell, the defending champion, fought back really well yesterday to make an even par 73. This was his fifth bird of the round at the seventh. Five under par. Great effort by Ben Campbell. He’s in contention. And so too is Jack Buchanan of Australia. This at the third for Birdie and that got him to four under par. And Maverick Ancliffe one of four players to complete the first round without dropping a stroke. Three under par on his round playing the third. The 474 yd par four which gave up the least amount of birdies yesterday. Maverick and Cliff will move to four under for his round. C coming off of his first bogey of the week on the previous hole. Maverick and Cliff right back to four under par. at a bogey coming back to the clubhouse for a second round of three under. Scott Vincent, seven birdies and a bogey for his round to this point. Getting right back after bogey the previous hole. Seven under parading into the par 58. Had a tied 13th here last year, fourth in 2022. Very comfortable at this venue. his third shot into the par five after finding the fairway bunker. That’ll be his ninth bird of the round. Will three put the ninth hole, but a brilliant round of seven under par. And that has now been confirmed as the new course record here on the red course. Scott Vinton leading by two from Madric Anliff, John Lyrus, Charlie Lind, Ben Campbell, Jack Buchanan, Kevin Yan, and John Katan also all five under. Pretty good leaderboard for the Aussies so far. Try and stay level pegging for the day. Should just drift a little right on him. Wonderfully done for JC. Those are the sort of putts you hold. You just get a little confidence. You’re not dropping a shot, especially on a par five. been playing the hotel planner tour in Europe for the last few weeks. A secondary tour behind the DP World Tour to Iichi was top 15 in France last time out. Mito Pereira started slow with a drop shot on the second but picked up a birdie at the fourth and that’s going to be another at the six to take the Chilean back to even for the tournament. Yeah. And Jazz won here in the inaugural international series, Morocco in 22. It was his seventh Asian tour win. And you really wouldn’t have thought we’d still be waiting for his eighth three years on. But he put for Uline, which he holds. Second of the day, gets to six under. These are the putts he was holding with such regularity this range for John Catelyn. Again, that’s just been the difference making. A year ago, you would have fancied his chances. Let’s see if we can get the pace right here. It’s going to be slightly uphill for Ian. Much more aggressive stroke and a much better result there for the South African suit shortsided here. on the par five, but this is his third shot. And that should be a four. So, a chance to open the account for the afternoon for Tatsunori Shagenji. Well done. Moves into three under. Don’t lose focus here. Can’t afford to pull this. Lovely goal shot from the American. So eagle attempt for Kevin Yuan. Left hand trap off the tea. No option but to lay up for Ian Simon but much shorter shot in than Andy Ogle trees and a much better shot. Nicely controlled there from Ian. Very poor back nine for Bobby by three bogeies including one on the par 58 but the chance to make amends here at nine. Yeah, very nicely done. That’s going to be a one under par round of 72 which props him in at four under at the halfway stage. Third shot for Mito. It’s going to be a bit challenging to throw it all the way back to the hole, but not a problem there for me. This is Chang Lun. An eagle opportunity on 17. He could do with it. He’s at three over par. Make that one over par for the Taiwanese player. Good deuce there for a man known as Allan. I don’t see this one missing. This man’s as proficient as anyone out here on the greens, especially from this distance. Absolutely. Peter Uline joins Maverick Antcliffe and a tie for second. Seven under and Cliff in the clubhouse with a 70. First look of the week at Thailand’s Jackut in me. Three end bar 70 yesterday to start his campaign. This is third shot to the par 512. Reeling that one back nicely. Well, that second shot’s worked out perfectly for Pity. Uline’s got an uphill putt. You know, last season on the Liv League, he did not make an eagle. And he said it was playing on the back of his mind. Every time he had an eagle putt, he was thinking, I need to make one. Well, he’s made five this year already. He’s just eagled 17. Chang Lun pick up a birdie on 18 to turn in four under part. It’s not a million miles away. It’s right in the bottom. Lovely part there. That’s the champions finish right there. Eagle 17, Birdie 18. David Bibunup, third into the eighth. Oh, that’s well played.
Give him a birdie for that. I think
it’s whether he’ll got the right line to 15 and in me for birdie. He scared the hole in a couple of occasions and this time it pops in for Jack Inmi. He goes up to five under par. quietly seeking up that leaderboard. Yeah. rolls in very easily. Having a fine day. Kazuki Higa four under par for his round. Make it five. Higer to three under for the tournament. Very difficult. Now this is Suti Pratipian Chai just for three in a row. Oh, and he’s made it two. That’s what four in the last five holes for the tie. Moves to three under B at nine is certainly something to be pretty proud of. He’s putting together a very solid afternoon effort. Kazuki Heager disappointing 75 to start yesterday, but he’s bogey free on the card today. Second shot into the 13th. Trying to back it up off that ste back stop. Look at this. Kazuki Heagger take a bow at the 17th hole. The stalwarts from India. There’s a speedia with a wedge in hand. These professionals, especially with a whole location like this, they’re licking their chops. You know, you’ve got a bit of a back stop. Throw it a little bit past the flag, create some spin. John Catelyn went for the green in two. Pitched it up to this point. This one’s going to be working downhill and falling to his right as well. There you go. Never a bad time to make your first birdie of the day. A third shot into this par five for Peter Ulhim. Brilliant. Another birdie for Peter Uline. Get in the hole.
Get in. Love to see it. That is such a fun shot. Think Miguel enjoyed that one. Pencil him down for a three. He did exactly as I imagined. Just a beautiful little cut into this tight hole location. Can he finish it off? He’ll believe he has a chance if he can pop this one in. Could be a big birdie putt this for Taiichi. Oh, it’s a good one. Well puted. That’s a really good for your mark. You want to go first?
Yeah. It’s amazing how many times that happened. We we big someone up, show everyone their highlights and how well they’re putting, and then just promptly go and make a bogey from inside of 100 yards. Second shot into 12 for Thailand’s Pavit Tanka Malpas who has had a roller coaster day had three birdies, a bogey, a double and a triple. Needs something special to play the weekend here. Oo, and I think that counts. What a second shot from Tanka Molr. Bunkered at the fourth is Parit Woo. Be landing on a little downs slope so it could just carry this past the fringe and have it tumble along to move inside the cut line. Tank of Ulra at 12. Not much movement in this. Just coming straight downhill. Really good three there from PT. Oh, big sigh of relief there. He knows exactly how important that eagle could be. See the Uline almost playing to the gallery again. Ogle tree at the 18th. Third shot needs a birdie. Oh, nearly didn’t need a birdie. Up on the last, Ian Snyman for his sixth birdie of the day. Yeah, use all the hole, Ian. Well done. Oh, it’s been a real up and down day for the liable South African, hasn’t it? having a nice day today. China’s Yane Leo finding his third birdie of the round without a drop stroke. Coming towards the end of our coverage of day two of International Series Morocco. And as Dom was saying, I think we all expected Peter Uline to have overtaken Scott Vincent at the top of the leaderboard going down the last four or five holes, but it hasn’t worked out that way. Scott Vincent with that splendid 66 earlier back in a two-shot lead over Antcliffe and Uline.
