mateo your English is probably better than my Vento dialect So I’ll ask you There was a lot of support out there from Italians from the Italian Canadian community How did that make you feel
nice Nice I mean Italians are everywhere it seems like So whenever they see uh the flag up they’re always supportive and uh I could definitely hear them They were loud So it was really nice to to go around and have that support and feeling that it was great I hope so

you mentioned yesterday um a big part of the last couple years for you has not been fixating on the result but fixating on but just kind of taking your game and the experience in totality Um uh what do you take away from this week
uh it it was a it was a nice week I my game is trending the right direction for sure Uh and I think to ultimately end up winning tournaments you need to go through days like this uh in which you you learn how to you know maybe improve something that could be possibly be improven uh improved Uh today my game didn’t probably wasn’t as good as the other days you know I guess that’s uh something that you can only feel and experience when you’re under that kind of pressure on a Sunday to play for a PGA tour event So I will take that in and and and know the stuff I have to work on and just keep doing what I what I’m doing If if I got to this uh to to a Sunday like this it means that I’m doing something right So I’ll just keep at it and uh hopefully I get another chance I’ll be more prepared
How close do you feel to being u in that form where you can uh get the job done on a Sunday here there is a lot of things that go in between you know me saying I’m close today I was close enough I was up there and uh for most of the round I was kind of you know not far from the leader Uh but then I I didn’t finish that well you know So it’s just a few shots here and there a few uh feels that get in the way of you know maybe hitting the shot that you like in the in the right moment It’s just it’s a little things when you when your game is going well but those little things makes the difference So I don’t know I can’t tell you how far away Um just going back to today Sam Burns obviously turned in a really um low round early In what ways if at all did that kind of change the complexion of how you looked at uh the golf course today did that make you have to play more aggressively or did you try to stay within yourself
no I I I took it for granted that someone was going to go low Uh it always is the case The level is really high and people are are there to try and win tournaments and they’re really good So I was expecting to get to see someone getting to I don’t know whatever number but I knew that I had to make a good round like the other days you know Uh couldn’t do it Not good enough But uh it didn’t change my plan for sure No
