[Music] we are gathered here this afternoon to witness the formal journey of Garrett Cunningham and Stephanie Strong in the legal state of matrimony you are to be married according to the orders customs and the authority granted by the province of Alberta matrimony is understood by us is a state enriched by a long and honorable tradition of devotion according to the law each participant is equal and supports the common rights of one another to the marriage there must be desire for lifelong companionship couples will support and comfort each other through the changing experiences of life may laugh together in joy grieve together in sorrow and grow together in love marriage means caring as much about the welfare and happiness of your marriage partner as about your own well-being marriage also means working together to create and sustain the home in which your marriage will flourish and with this understanding Stephanie and Garrett wish to be joined in marriage [Music] a part of me was always drawn to you from the first time I laid eyes on you across the table at that lemongrass restaurant i remember you had bright red lipstick on and your makeup was done so beautifully that the other girls at the table were commenting on it i never thought then that I’d be lucky enough to be standing here with you now not only have I come to love the more glamorous side of you I also adore the country girl in you being able to control an animal 10 times your size loaded into a trailer and then perfectly parked the trailer there’s just one speed that proves how capable and strong you are i love your passion for everything you do your kindness to everyone around you and that you can make me laugh sometimes our relationship has stood the test of time and stress from traveling to places where we don’t speak the language and buying tickets on trains that we don’t know the system there is no one else I would rather be lost with i knew you were the woman I wanted to spend my life with when I saw all the things you did for us when my mom was sick there’s nothing I can give you that would repay my gratitude but for the rest of my life I promise that when you need a friend I’ll be your best friend when you need help I will help you when you want to try something new I will encourage you when you’re hungry I will have snacks ready and when you do the same for me I will appreciate you but if you don’t I will always forgive you i’ll love you more and more every day for the rest of my life i will love you [Music] always i will love you [Music] from the boy who kept up with me on the slopes to the man who loves me and our chaotic little fur family fiercely you are my best friend my greatest love and my home here we are ready to take on this next chapter and if I’ve learned anything from our time together it’s that we can handle whatever life throws at us we weathered storms celebrated winds figured out how to mostly adult as we’ve grown stronger closer and even more in love each day i promise to always ask myself if I’m hungry first before I get sniffy at you and I can’t promise this but I will always try to love myself the way that you love me and listen to you when you tell me I need to be kinder to myself i vow to stand by you in every triumph and every challenge to support you cheer for you and laugh with you even when you give me the hiccups from laughing too hard when we first met you were allergic to cats horses and dogs and yet by loving me and living with our pets your body somehow adapted and now you don’t even react to them anymore it’s like your love for us became stronger than your allergies and if that isn’t devotion I don’t know what is i will love [Music] you you are the calm in my storms my teammate in everything and my favorite person you make me feel safe cherished and deeply loved every single day in a way that I’ve never felt before so today and every day I choose you and all your brilliance and flaws i you to this magnificent Rocky Mountain setting winter wonderland a winter wonderland yeah i know Stephanie and Garrett are sincerely honored that their families and their dearest of friends have all traveled considerable distances to spend this very special moment with them may the sun bring you new energy by day may the moon softly restore you by night let the rain wash away your worries and the breeze go strength into your being and all the days of your lives may walk gently through the world and know its beauty [Music] there was a belief in ancient times that the vein in the third finger your left hand but direct you to your heart so by encircling this finger your heart is forever touched by the one who loves you let these rings be a reminder of this moment your love and your commitment to each other may they always be touching your hearts derek Cunningham and Stephanie Strong you have consented in marriage and have declared your solemn intentions in this company before our witnesses and in my presence you have exchanged these rings as a pledge of your love for each other you have joined your hands to accept one another and now upon the authority vested in me by the partner for my brother uh we are so lucky to have you join our family i am wishing you both a lifetime filled with love and laughter and I couldn’t be more proud or more happy standing here today so words and actions and never forget the love that brought you here today steph you’ve grown from a cute little freckled face cutie doll into a breathtaking beautiful woman that we see before us today your dad and I couldn’t be more proud of the person that you’ve become as parents our greatest hope is that our child finds happinesses in relationship with you Stephanie has found just that and we
