i’m all right thank you brett you’ve been using this for ages now and we’ve even got a little Apple watch to use it on so we’ve got the 18 Birdies app you’ve been using it on the phone for your stats and everything else but just using the watch now it’s been quite interesting hasn’t it because a lot of advancements that can really really help
it changes it a little bit it makes it a little bit quicker yeah so I think that’s like massive that we can now rather than opening the phone and locking the phone entering your score we can just do it on here you get your front middle and back measurements all the time
uh you can track your shot on it which is really good before you were getting your phone out your pocket and stuff so it just makes it a little bit quicker really
but then if ever you do want to kind of jump on the app you can do that as well so you can have the full map of the course you can do everything you can put your stats in you can then get your stats app but today we’re in Turkey we’re at Cello curello can never pronounce it but the pines cost it’s fantastic we have a scramble on the last few holes see how we can do we’re also going to talk about boss mode because boss mode is a new mode on the 18 birdies that that’s just come out have you seen it

i never noticed you said that that until now but I don’t think I say it in the real world as I say in videos but I do feel like this could be the best app for your phone because not only you getting the GPS you’re getting the smart tracker so like this is how we know how much you’ve improved with golfer not because your handicaps come down but because of all the stats because we can actually look at where you were struggling so we knew
I think in periods as well when there’s been certain aspects that are struggling it stands out with the stats yeah
and then it’s been something we’ve worked on closer rather than something else that’s maybe not affecting score as much
yeah definitely so for people that don’t know Brett’s handicap’s come down from 14 to six which is a phenomenal drop and I almost think it’s dropped too soon like I almost think potentially you’re not used to that new handicap level yet so you do still throw in a couple of bad scores but that just shows you to keep practicing keep working hard keep using the stats

right Brett that’s a par on the opening hole um so this boss mode obviously it’s designed so you can kind of be a bit more subtle with it there’s actually a live feed isn’t there if you have a look on the website and on the app so you and your mates watch each other don’t you yeah we’ve made a bit of like a group if you like and on the on the on the app it notifies us when one of us is out playing or if a couple of them have gone out playing and you’re at work one at lads
so do they have to allow for the notification or does it just notify you when they’re playing when they log into the app
it’s when you actually put your round on so when I’ve set a round up I can hide it
so the guys will know that we’re playing in circuit so every time I put that score in they get a little little notification with a sound of a ball hitting the bottom of the hole that we’ve put inputed a score and it flashes up what we’ve scored on that hole which
So they’ll know we’ve only made a pass

yeah but I never played in a watch until I got this and um I never had the older ones when they came out the GPS watches but
I wear the Apple Watch now most days and it’s I think because it’s there as a natural it’s there’s no issue to it but I do really like it i think it makes it a little bit quicker than in drain the battery at all
no battery is good on it doesn’t really feel like it ever kills your battery so yeah right

and when you go to enter your score then it just gets you to confirm that it’s right

and I must say I do feel like stuff like that is only as good as if you know your distances like if you know it’s got the AI caddy in there isn’t it so it can kind of tell you

but so if you are thinking about potentially where you want to leave yourself on the green if you are that good and you’re thinking of a portion of the green rather than just a green the AI map mode or the kind of green reading mode is fantastic for that as well right so great shot in there we have this for an eagle he’s got a good chance
i knew we’d take one of your shots eventually eventually just took me a bit of time to get loose right
how much would you put your handicap reduction down to obviously I know you’ve done the big PXG stuff and the fitting and lessons and how much would you put it down to knowing the stats though
massively i think I think it’s changed the way that you I’ve thought about each hole and and along with what what you’ve taught me to think about but
the way that like we showed you on that hole not necessarily hitting driver because it’s a par five let’s go back where it’s safe where you can then hit a shot in
and then your mate smash one down there will use that anyway but we wouldn’t have done that in a scramble i would have had a shot

so it is the right thing to do and it has helped it has helped especially when you go to course like this you’ve not seen it before
we’ve played in view is an absolute winner when you’ve not seen a course before as well but for me as well I I don’t coach that often anymore but I do coach Brett for the series that we’ve been running and for me being able to know the stats behind how he plays and why he has the horror scores he has but also why he has the good scores he has makes me know that we don’t only need to make the weaknesses strengths but keep the strengths of strengths which is a very important thing in any sport when you’re coaching as with under nines football

no and I think that’s one of the less big lessons I’ve learned from using the app and that’s why we’re trying to say is just sometimes you’ve got to think about it a little bit different you stand up and look at a hole and think you can smash driver it and if you actually follow what it’s saying I’ve scored better
and that’s the difference between being like an 11 handicap and a six handicap isn’t it
